The bar has been set pretty high. To be the "Big Dog" on this Forum is a challenge. Interestingly, Fish Chris also has some "numbers" and is fairly (?) competative in other species.
Kinda reminds me of the song: "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown"
(baddist man in the whole d**n town...)

Hey RW,your PB brownfish definantly deserves mention. What did she weight?
my biggest is 17" and i didn't get a weight. but i guarantee to break that record. we have some huge smallies at my favorite lake. my largemouth was something like 18" caught up in idaho
Just over 8 lbs and my Personal Best. The "pretty one" was just over 7. Both were caught on the Tennessee River below Pickwick Dam in January, 2005. The fish were caught about an hour and a half apart, pictured and released.
I caught the fat one first. To this day it remains the strongest freshwater fish I have ever caught. My PB striper is 38 lbs and that was a GREAT fighting fish, but not comparable to this smallmouth. I think the only species I have ever tangled with that compare is the German brown trout. When they get over 5 lbs, they're a treat!
8-)
Sadly my PB is around 3 lbs..(Never used a scale) but i hope with the help of this forum to change that this year. My Goal is 5lbs for this year
largemouth 7lbs smallie 6lbs
Largemouth 5 1/2lbs and Smallmouth 4 1/2lbs. I'd like to break my PB fishing with badhabit in Orlando in a couple weeks . I'd also like to catch at least a 7 in Michigan because they can be hard to come by.

Dude,.....this is BassResource,....that kind of stuff only stirs the pot when it's on a forum of "wanna be's". ("I'm better than you" boards)
This ain't that place.
Take a gander through the "My tournament or outing" section and you'll see some world class fish caught by some grass roots and not so grass roots angler's who range from "beginner" to "legend", but the best part is,.....we share how it was done

Will email a photo of my 18.8 (18lb 11oz) LMB, my PB is 19.3 however very poor photo.

No doubt. I have been here a pretty good while (since March of 2005), and I can honestly testify that this forum is, and has always been, just a great bunch of guys, supportive in every way possible, and hopefully it will continue to be so for a long time. You see ALOT of forums with just garbage, insults, etc., and this is NOT one of those places. I just want to say great job by Glenn, all the moderators, and especially all the great members.

Here's the bass I caught while visiting East Asia. I didn't have a camera with me so an old peasant drew this up for me.
Hey a ceratin former member has that posted as his PB
The minute i saw the subject line I KNEW who the winner was.
No one around here that I know of has the dedication, skill, and opportunity to catch big bass like fish Chris.
He is one of the few on BassResource.com who, luck aside..has a really good chance of landing the next world recore LMB

Absolutely. FishChris is the real deal.
Fourbizz, your humility is to be commended. Your 13 lb 1 oz fish is a hell of a catch and deserves notice.
13.86 lbs, don 't ask for pics, one day SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED trashed a big bunch of pics I had which included my pics of that fish..... she also trashed my replica mount. >

Well, WRB emailed me this picture of his 18.8. What an impressive fish!
fixed, must not have liked the direct link to another bass forum, LOL
Sorry about leaving you out Paul! A 14 out of TN is freaking cool!
QuoteSo Utah, how big is yours????
Thats just not right
Thanks for posting the photo, if I knew how use computers would of tried myself. The 18.8 was caught way back in 1981 at lake Casitas on February on my custom hair jig with pork trailer. My PB is 19.3 on the same style jig from Castaic in March 1995.
Stopped fishing with live bait back in 1971. To date have been blessed to have fished most of California's big bass lake for over 50 years, catching several hundred bass over 10 lb and 5 between 17 to 19 lbs, still trying for the WRB.
Chris is a top trophy bass fisherman and has the skills to catch a bass of a life time, good luck Chris.

Thank you.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that bass was getting a little ragged. She was tough old fish and jumped twice, coming up from about 17 feet of water.
29" long, 28 1/2" girth and in her prime a possible record fish.
WRB
Sorry, I've been having all kinds of problems connecting to the internet, since my recent move. Hoping it's fixed now.
It's been a long time since I saw the photo of your 18.8. What an incredible fish ! I love that hump shape to its back. It reminds me of Paul DuClose's HUGE 20 plus (IMPO) Nor Cal bass.
BTW, the biggest bass ever caught in Nor Cal was "only" an 18.7 lb'er.... So, although your 18.8 was not even your biggest, it still beats our "little ol' 18.7 ;-) .....and of course my "tiny little 18.4 :-) LOL
But hey now, (as it was recently mentioned) > "I haven't caught my biggest bass yet" < :-)
Hoping to stick the first 19-20 from Nor Cal this year :-)
Great fishing to you WRB,
Fish
My PB looks like some of these guy's swimbaits. I really admire the guys who do all the hard work to catch real trophy fish. FC, WRB, Randall, 4bizz and many others I can't think of now. You guys are heroes in my book.
Ronnie
Nice Bass, guys! I once caught a 28.14 lb Bass, but I didn't have a camera or anything, so I let her go and drew a picture of her on a gas receipt. Somehow I lost the only reel proof of the big fish (the gas receipt). I will try and draw a new picture of her and post ASAP!
It's all about being on the right lake at the right time with the right presentation and being lucky enough to put the fish of a lifetime in the boat. I lost a few 20+, they huant me as time goes bye.
On the west coast "now" is pre-spawn, the right time, the rest is up to you.
Good fihing.

Those measurements make her a thing of beauty. I don't care how ragged she is.
The CT record is 12lbs or so, set a long time ago. So don't expect my picts here. Well until global warming extends our growing season 8-)
I have advocated for years that northern strain LMB should have a seperate record status from Florida strian LMB. They may look similar, but they are not the same bass; different number of lateral line scales for example. My PB northen LMB was caught from lake Casitas back in 1971; 12lbs 4 oz, also on a jig. The world record northen should be around 15 lbs., so any 10+ NLMB is a trophy bass, where a 15+ should be the bench mark for FLMB, since they can grow more than 5 lbs. heavier. Size is realtive to where you live, the climate and type of bass.
WRB
My PB is 8lb. 3oz caught on live bait out of the Satilla River down here in South Georgia.
my PB is only a measly 4.1lbs...pretty sad for texas...although i have only lived here a bit over a year and only fished for LMB less than that. i hope to get one over 5lbs this year and also increase my numbers in the 2-4lb range.
i caught this one on a t-rigged red shad 10" power worm in a private stock tank.

May/June 2007 North American Fisherman page 60..
also,,
I would like to note,,
To any of you guys that have caught big Bass,,
this is awsome !!!!
that gives us guys hope that we too,
will maybe some day hook onto a Monster!!!!
the Michigan state Record is smaller than a lot of bass you guys on here have caught.....
if my info is correct....
Mich. Rec. LGM--1934--YES 1934,,
Big Pine Island Lake 11.94 pounds
then in 1959,,
a bass of the exact size was caught on a
Pond..
Jeff
Actually, I caught the world record bass! But... I foul hooked it so I threw it back, I'm that honest!!
Yeah, I caught it showed it to only my friends and then called my lawyer who doesn't bass fish but told me it'd be in my best interest to release the fish so I listened to him.
Where did I catch it? Well, I caught it in this small obscure lake that no ones ever heard of. It's a great lake! Me and my friends have all caught several bass that have been close to the record before but I guess I got lucky?
Well, I did pay I guy a $Grand$ to let me fish it...he wasn't available for comment though.
