One day Steve Parks (Big-O) was sitting on his patio at his ranch near Dallas sipping a Mint Julep when he said to himself “Self, how do I design a plastic bait that has an action like no other?” So he began to think, and as he thought, beads of sweat began appearing on his forehead, so he decided to have another Mint Julep. Thinking furiously, he started scribbling on the white linen tablecloth with his Sharpie … and had another Mint Julep.
Thousands of Mint Juleps later, and after earning PHDs in both aero and hydrodynamics, Big-O developed a plastic bait like no other. Its action was so remarkable that he decided to call it a Rage Tail – and a legend was born.
OK, so I made all this up. I doubt that Big-O has ever had a Mint Julep in his life; and I don’t think he owns a ranch.
What I do know for certain is that the Rage Tail line of baits catch fish, and do it well. My PB (shown in my avatar) of seven pounds, eleven ounces was caught with a Rage Toad. I have caught hundreds of fish using the Rage Craw and the Space Monkey. I have now reached the point that I now fish Rage Tail plastics to the exclusion of all others.
One other thing I know is that Steve believes in his products. I have never seen him fish with any bait but a Rage Tail. His frequent postings about the hawgs he has caught and the Rage Tails he has caught them with is proof of that.

Rage Tail baits. The rage tail craw and lobster has given me a new found confidence in Jig fishing and only use rage products as trailers. I don't fish them exclusively yet but I have at least 30 packs of them

They are nice baits, indeed. I would like to see them make a swimbait of some sort. With the A-rig craze I'm surprised they don't have one yet.

The Rage Tail linup of baits, are the best plastics on the market. They are the best, because Big O is one driven, dedicated, perfectionist dude, with an honest love of the sport. He told me, and he'll tell anyone, "If it aint right, it's just wrong." He knows bass behavior, and feeding patterns, and he puts it all into making a bait that will draw strikes from the biggest bass. While everyone else is just copying other companies, and chasing everybody else's tail, he is a true innovator, and stays way above the curve. His baits are among the most copied in the world, and it's not because he makes average stuff, it's because he makes the BEST stuff.

I too have done well with the craw, lobster, space monkey, and toad. This year, I tried the Curly Tail Grub, and the new Menace. Did very well with both, but give the edge to the Menace. Here's how I rig them both. Only a pic of the Curly Tail Grub. I rig the Menace the same way, but with the tail horizontal. To me, the menace looks like a tiny Manatee with a split tail.

Can't wait to look in my stocking next Tuesday and find a fat stack of Bass Pro giftcards so I can buy some RageTail Baits. Then its just a matter of waiting til spring when the fishing picks up again so I can use them.

I've have a bag filled with nothing but Rage Tail products. The Space Monkey has now become my favorite go to bait. I use it top water, texas rigged, and as a jg trailer with a little worm rattle stuck inside. I've also requested a local bait shop to stock it, and after they tried it at a tournament, first cast and they see the line swimming off. They ended up winning the tournament on Toho. They now stock alot of Rage Tail products.

Ok, I have never used one, so educate me please...
I hear folks say they got some great action, but what does that mean exactly? When you compare lets say, Rage Grub with, Zoom Fat Albert, what is the difference in action, bigger wobble maybe? It also look like it is good when the baits are moving, but how about with supper slow barley moving presentation?

I can't say enough about the rage tail line either, it's RW's fault !!
I have used these products for just about everything you can think of since my first use of the craw, the only one I have not tried yet is the shell cracker, but that will change this year, the lobster would have to be my favorite, rage rigged, Thanx Big-O for an awesome bait line and keeping the product here in the USA.
Somehow Long Mike I do not think him drawing on the table cloth with a sharpie is true either, one can only imagine the repercussions of such an action. lol !!

Even when your not moving the bait, the bait is moving, the action of the appendage's as it falls through the water is awesome but when it simply sits still it looks alive.

In my opinion this is the BIGGEST difference: Even when the bait sits on the bottom the appendages
have a subtle vibration, especially when the bait stands upright. Another striking feature is the packaging
which ensures a perfect bait every time. Also, the specific blend used to produce the plastic: a near perfect
trade-off between soft and firm.

I would suggest the lizards and the craws too !!!
Rage rig the craw and T-rig or C-rig the lizard, I used to use Zoom lizards, but these things far out perform the Zoom.

I started using Rage last spring, and now, they are the only plastics I use. I love the craws, lobsters, menace, grubs, and well, all of them. Every bait is a flat out fish catcher, and versatile as well. They can be trailers, c rigged, drop shot, cut up, used whole, buzzed on top, THESE BAITS ARE HANDS DOWN THE BEST PLASTICS ON THE MARKET.

I've only used Rage Tail products on a limited basis, with only decent results. Sounds like I'm missing out on some good action. I'll have to stock up on some and give them an honest shot next season.

I somehow recall a member who asked Steve on this very forum to design and market his own RAGE spider grub ( skirted twin tail grub ) and give us the ultimate smallmouth plastic. It's time to once again lobby for this product. I have set aside about six hundred bucks to stock up when they hit the market. I'm thinking 4.5 inchs total length with colors dominated by crawfish greens and browns. To show how serious I am, it's almost my birthday and when I make a wish and blow out the candles......lots and lots of candles......well you get the point.

I like the sound of that, a twin tail grub, and the swimbait someone else mentioned. A pegged Rage craw flipped into the water willows has won me more than a couple Wednesday night tournaments during the summer.

Just bought a pack of the 10" thumper worm in bama bug color, can't wait to test drive these, even though its chilly out, gander mountain should have it to me around Christmas Day. Thanks for the reviews.

Try an umbrella rig decked out with Ragetail grubs.... It was a killer presentation on Oneida this fall.

You will love these baits, if you experience any trouble or are having problems with the baits, go to the tackle section and post a question, I can promise you there is an answer, most likly it will come straight from Big-O too !!!

To help answer some of your questions, here's a link to the video pg. on the RT website... It has 3 different action videos that show many of the individual baits in action. All RT's are designed to have the best action, at minimum fall rates or retrieve speeds, on the market. Each of the subsurface baits are displayed with 1/4oz maximum weight, which is the most popular size weight used across the country. IMO, versatility is the name of the game and although each design has it's own specific use strong points, the majority of them can be used and/or tweaked for use in several other presentation styles with great results.
For sure, don't underestimate the use of the Rage Rig with any of our products and others as well. The key is to have a properly designed weighted hook, like the Moaner Weighted Stroker, that allows a more horizontal fall, where the weight is positioned further back, yet still allows the bait room to roll up on the hookset and more hydro dynamic in it's design. It's perfect for this style of fishing. You can find many other ideas in the rigging section etc,. and if you have other questions, just ask 
As for Long Mike's comment on Mint Julips... he's right, I've never tried'em 
But I probably was having an adult beverage or two during the design phase of some of the RT's

got my rage tail thumper worms a while ago and hit the nearest pond before dark, caught one little guy, not bad considering how cold it is, i've attached a pic of solid ice in my truck bed, LOL, only had about an hour to fish with these new baits, one fish out of two pulls, better than nothing this time of year. Well, I tried to attach a pic, says the file is too large so oh well.

After reading this thread I went out and bought two packs of the Craws, and also ordered two packs of the shad. I got to throw the craw in the water and was stunned by the action. Even when I left it alone the appendages were moving. I was reluctant to believe the hype, but now I'm a believer!
Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. I can't wait to see what new things are being developed!

It doesn't get any better than Rage Tail! It is NO coincidence that most of my BIG fish have come on Rage Tail products. Last summer I got on a kick using a Carolina Rigged Smokin' Rooster as my primary search bait. Funny thing is, when I found fish and wanted to slow down and "work the school", I didn't change baits! I just stopped the boat and kept using the same bait! Nothing else worked as good.
Oh, Long Mike, one thing to add to your OP, I think Big O DID invent CAMO SHORTS!

I've never used these. There are places I fish in the dead of summer that are almost completely covered over with grass and moss mats. I use a technique I'd call..."topwater finesse". This involves using a true floating plastic and letting it rest for up to a minute between ever so slight, teasing twitches. My question is: do any of these RageTail baits actually float. If so, I'd like to give them a try...............thanks, for an answer.

No, but they will appear to float on mats or lilies. All of these will work rigged weightless:

My 2 favorite ways to Bass fish is top water and Texas rigged.
I just love the splash when he comes out of the water after it, and the thump, thump of the soft bait bite.
Just ordered a bunch of RTs including the toad. Gonna have the best of both with the toad.
Gonna try running it on top almost like a buzz bait or jerk bait, and fish it slow letting it fall in the lily pad pockets.
Just hope I cant wait for him to swallow it when buzzing.
