Anyone know if the guy is legit or just a loud mouth?
I find him annoying
If memory serves me correctly he has some experience But if you are asking he can stand with the big boys like KVD or IKE I would say probably not. I know one member here has fished with him before so maybe he would be a better source of info and hopefully will chime in.
Here's a link
Don't know, find him way to annoying to watch long enough to see if he has talent.
The bigger question is, who do you find more obnoxious, Charlie Moore, Ike, or Ish?
Charlie Moore is just loud and his "fishing" show is hardly fishing at all. I like Ike when he isn't breaking stuff and/or too emotional, I think he knows his stuff. Not sure I have seen or heard that much from Ish to know if I like him or not.

Ha! That's a funny one. Gotta say Charlie though.....
Ike is funny man, he gets all pumped up...throws his tantrums but I admire his passion. I haven't paid much attention to Ish, is he annoying as well?
His show is not for me. Plain and simple.
I'm not gonna bad mouth the guy,I really don't know him too well. From what I have seen on TV he is loud.Show business you gotta keep things entertaining,he does seem to try and do that. It's a different crowd he is targeting through television. kinda seemed aimed more toward the classy fishermen.

Watch the power pole slam at the link below and that is all you will need to see.

I know that the fresh wave of "personalities" are more popular with the younger generation, but I just cannot stand the over the top pretentious attitudes that Ike and Ish have. I have always grown up being taught to be confident, but not cocky, and that is why both of these guys to me act like children.
He is a different character to the fishing world. I think his show is pretty good, it mixes things up a bit. He came down here and fished with Shane for Snakeheads. My wife loves his show, she thinks hes a trip. As far as being a legit fisherman? Meh.

Obviously everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, though forming it from watching folks on fishing shows only seems a bit narrow minded.
I have actually fished with Ish in an Open tournament and he is a professional and a gentleman. I have been around him many times since and he has always been unpretentious, respectful and friendly.
I have never fished with Ike but have attended Bass U. and was able to spend some time with him. He is either a very sincere unpretentious person or a fantastic actor.
I have seen the shows you refer to and really do not see the same qualities in these two that you do.
I have met and talked to Ike several times at bass tournaments and iCast, and can tell you the guy is a class act in his attitude towards fans, answering questions, and overall attitude. I have only briefly met Ish and have never met Charlie so I cannot speak about them, but if it were negative I would keep my mouth shut since it is hard to judge people in the public eye based on brief encounters
If we're going to say we don't like someone because they're loud...I don't think I'd have many friends...

Let's pump on the brakes, my words are starting to get taken out of context.
Being from MN, I have not had the opportunity to meet these gentleman and so the opinions I have of them are SOLELY based off the impressions I have gathered from TV viewing. I never once said I did not like them as individuals, I just feel like they're over the top personalities ON TV, and that to me becomes obnoxious...I am sure they are great individuals when they are not being filmed, but again I cannot personally attest to that.
He fishes? I thought he just had that show to show off his rings, Hummer and wife....
He has a fishing show so I am happy that there are people out there trying to keep the sport and outdoors alive and interesting for kids. On the other hand his voice and his show is like nails on a chalkboard to me, the only one worse was that last (short run) show of Fish Fishburne (who I really like)
Fish Fishburne is a trip for sure! Charlie has done well for himself, I can't knock him for that at all. When I say he's loud I just meant that well, he's loud! HA! I've just never seen up get serious about fishing but maybe that's the point of his show....not to be so serious. If that's it, he definitely accomplished what he set out to do...
I think I'd like Charlie a little more if he dumped the $400 designer jeans and the Miami nightlife look. Big O, send the man some camo shorts and send me the bill!
IMO, not really. I've watched his show several times and can't remember him catching anything other than dinks, even doing shows in Florida and other known big fish places.
Watching some of the episodes it's seems like he's more interested in his boston sports teams than fishing..
Being from Mass and working in the fishing industry since I was 16, I constantly hear rumors that Charlie Moore is a lousy self centered person.
He dropped a lawsuit on a tackle shop when they named themselves Mad Fish Outfitters and had to change their name to Bad Fish Outfitters.
I personally don't know the guy but I don't think he is funny at all. I just don't like loud, close-talkers aka the raincoats.

haha yeah don't forget the food he spends more time talking bout his favorite eats then fishing.
I cant stand charlie moore. I will leave it at that.
I also can not stand him or is show.

I am with ya. That was what I was saying in my original post...I just didn't grow up surrounded by those types of people, so I cannot stand watching people act that way.

Ish is a good guy, at the 2009 classic my (at the time) girlfriend had talked to him at one of the booths before the classic started and when he didn't make the cut, that afternoon her, her dad and Ish were all in the elevator of the hotel together and he gave her his jersey off his back and autographed it for her, definitely a nice guy
I doubt Charlie Moore Is a great fisherman or even a good fisherman . I could be wrong but I would bet In person he's completely different than on his show.
Ive read his book, called the mad fisherman I think. It gave me a diffrent insight into the guy. I figgure hes a decent fisherman, but his show is smart, I find it annoying, but I would guess he makes the most money fishing without being a pro. He figgured out how to market himself. That being said I don't like his show one bit.
NGaHB
I don't know the first thing about Charlie Moore, except he's on TV and I'm not..........he must be doing something right.
He will go away when the ratings fall, for now he must have a fan base or he'd be canceled.
im from mass and he used to have a fishing show on necn a channel in mass and whenever he was actually fishing he caught the smallest fish ever. When he wasnt fishing which was most of the time he was screaming about some boston team. I dont think anyone likes him and ever since he got a national tv show hes started dressing like a dipstick
When Charlie was fishing T's in NH, he was a darn good fisherman.
Charlie lives in the next town over from me, about 15 miles, and I know people that know him and have dealt with him, an ex of mine was friends with his wife as well. I gather from them that he has his over the top tv personality and his normal guy personality. I hear he's really just a farting, swearing guy that loves to fish, like us, but he makes money from being a loudmouth on tv, so he pushes that envelope to keep his career going.
I think he is a con man who would be more at home in a pool hall shooting for a buck a game than in a boat tryong to catch fish. He has conned people into watching his show so I guess he is good an what he does.

I'am up in Canada with a limited access to the web. Sort late to the party on this topic. Since Charlie is my friend I feel qualified to say that Charlie is both legit and loud. Which was the origional question.

I would say your pretty much right on. Just a normal guy.
Yeah, I never meant any offense toward Charlie at all, just never really have seen any serious fishing on his show......I lived in Manchester NH for a short while and I met several new englanders that were quite similar actually, very loud and pretty wild and crazy. I enjoyed my time there and found the folks there to be pretty darn cool to hang with. I'm sure Charlie is no exception.
The Madfisherman well, he is just that, he is a cool cat that flat out knows and love fishing just like the rest of us
Why hasn't the most important question been asked? I haven't seen his show, so is his Wife hot?
His show is not at the top of my list.
I would be curious how well his show actually does. I mean rating wise how does it stack up with the big boys like bill dance or hank parker?
^^It's better to let only him be the one concerned with that.
I actually enjoyed some of the episodes. He seems very light-hearted and charismatic. But I can see how some would get tired of his show after awhile.
