Yes, we'll be doing them again this year.
Nice Glenn!
I have a stupid question/request. If you get a chance to talk to Rick Clunn, could you possibly ask him what he feels the relationship between quantum physics and bass fishing is?
I'll be there!
Me and a buddy are going to be there Saturday and Sunday.......
Ok, Bobby. Haven't seen you at the Classic in several years. So, why this one? You know, curiosity killed the cat. Bekki
This will be my 7th BassMasters Classic Show. The last 2 years I had a wedding on one and a show already booked on the other. The one before that we were at was in Alabama. Don't let anyone kid ya either. These Bass Masters classic Shows are hit and miss. The last few were good but like the one were were at at Lake Wiley- we and other vendors lost their @sses-there was no one at the show. -. The Bass Masters Classic Show is the most expensive show in the circuit- its more of a tourist show than a retail show. Cmon $1500 + bucks for 3 days-ICAST is cheaper-now get a 20 foot booth and your're at 3100 bucks.By the time you fly 5 people -hotels cars -food drink- shipping booths-product- its a fortune. Everyone's looking for free product and we give out plenty- the hotels rape ya-the venues rape ya-the union guys rape ya-ya walk home with a limp and a STD. Is it worth doing yes for promotional purposes . The guys at Bassmaster do promote the shows. Its up to the visitors to attend.I have one classic contender we are sponsoring and I'm buddies with a lot of the others- its good to see everyone-like i said anyone who is anyone is there.Ive got new product launches to show the attendees. We are busy at every show we do-its all scheduling. We have 14 shows to do this year starting next week into March. Its a long time on the road. Pick and choose your battles I always say. Some are worth doing some arent.
We were at one Bassmasters Classic in Pittsburg-It was a Union Hall Venue-We had our product in boxes- 12 boxes-on the loading dock-these guys walk up to me and said we will get that- They put it on a cart and moved it 70 feet to our booth-I hand the guy a $20 dollar tip-he hands me a bill for $400 and some odd dollars. I said whats this-he said this is a union hall and we have to move everything- I ripped it up in front of him and laughed.-I didn't pay it.The guy across from me had his stuff moved in and gave him a bill of 1100 dollars. He said the same thing-. At ICAST we wanted a banner hung over our booth- The union guys came over and said $750 to put it up and $750 to take it down-I said eat me. So i'm not getting on the union guys but the venues and in certain places they dont let you know about the hidden costs. Just a note. Whew -I need a cigarette and i dont even smoke.
Me and my wife are going to go, will be the first classic we ever attended. Looking forward to it.
I'm hoping to make the trip.
This year I'm lucky enough to have both the Classic and the Forrest L Wood Cup within driving distance.
Just make sure you guys stop over to see our new product line..We will hook you guys up-dont worry.
