My boyfriend and I both caught bass at Lake Winnepesaukee. He is telling me they are both small mouth bass but I think mine is a large-mouth and his is a small mouth. My fish is first below and his is second. Can anyone help solve this battle?
I think there both small mouth.
My guess would be both smallies, but I can't see enough detail on your fish.
First largemouth Second Smallmouth
Smallies
Both fish are smallies
I was thinking first LMB and second is a SMB too
Edit: Nevermimd they their both smallies
First might be a large mouth kinda hard to tell but the second is without a doubt smallmouth
Yeah I thought the first was a largemouth but thinking smallie after looking at the jaw more...
But I could count the smallies I've caught on one hand haha
Both 100% smallies
Nice
Both smallies.
Ok I just uploaded another picture in my original post... you guys sure?????
Yep both smallies
Yep after the more clear pic I agree both smallies!
Thanks for the feedback. Its gonna kill me to tell him he is right
definately both smallies, but i think most of yall know that by now lol
by the way....they're both smallies.
Nice fish.
Welcome, BTW.
Smallies without a doubt. Next time if you're not sure just close their mouth and see if the bottom jaw extends past the eye. If it does it's a largemouth, if it doesn't it's a smallmouth (or spot or basically any of the other subspecies of bass).

This
The mouth is the obvious way to differentiate the species, but those bronze bodies with light vertical stripes were a dead giveaway as well.
Yea, the first pic was outta focus, contrast etc... But after the new pic was uploaded it was clear the first was a smallmouth!
Ill take smallmouth for one thousand Alex

Smallies!
Smallies, the lip line and, mouth size on yours is too small to be a LM. Smallies come in different colors, most have vertical lines and are brown in color, but that can vary. They are both nice sized Smallies, SM are my favorite target.
