I know there's a lot of guys on here that are getting into making their own videos, YouTube, Instagram, or Periscope content. I know I am looking into it.
The rules state you can't do a round of self-promotion since the General Forum would literally be flooded.
Would it be possible to make a forum that guys can just link their videos? I know I would like to see some content from some of the guys, but unless they state they have a channel, and the channel name, I wouldn't know where to go to find our members' videos.
Any possibility of that?

right after the cooking forum....
I dig this idea.
They can post videos anywhere appropriate, as long as they aren't promoting themselves, their channel, or another product other than for a newsworthy review.
You can easily derive their channel from that content. That, or just ask them directly in a PM.
Otherwise, I do not see this happening.

How about letting us put it in our user profile so it shows when we post. You already allow twitter and facebook.
Ask Glenn, it's his show, but my guess is no. Social media is way to connect with each other. YouTube seems to be all about self promotion.

I think we've gone full circle.
If I say anything wrong tell me.

Usually after I edit and post my vlog, send tweets, stare at Facebook for 6 hours, and take a picture of Starbucks drinks. But I only stay long enough to get action shots for the next vlog before I go back home and listen to bands that only I am aware of.
I demand a BEER talk forum. Yeah right, like if I drank a lot of beer.

I'm with you - create a special forum for people to post their videos. Then again, some people may do reviews with lots of negative reviews and some of those negative reviews might be sponsors here on the forum. And that might mess up the "happy/all is welcome" bass resource sight.
You can posts a video in ANY forum. Why would you want to go to the "video" forum to search for a video on how to maintain your reel. You'd just go to Rod/Reel/Line forum. We don't have a separate forum where you post pictures. Why do we need one for videos? All you have to do is follow simple guidelines, and post a video in the forum that makes most sense - there's 24 of them!

I understand the points being made, and my question isn't necessarily IF I can post a video in a forum and the subsequent want of a "Video Forum." I've seen others post videos, and they're really good. My only question is, will using the ever common "If you like this video, click Subscribe" phrase get me booted and videos removed? It seems like that's obvious self promotion, but almost every video ends in that manner saying something about subscription. Do I just have to make videos that don't ask folks to continue watching my content?

Well, most of the guys that get booted are for a hit-and-run, usually their first and only post. "Regulars" would generally be sent FAQs or the section devoted to posing videos. So, to answer your second question, yes...Just make videos that DO NOT ask viewers to subscribe. And let's address one other criteria: The video cannot be deemed "promotional" which covers a broad range of content.

I could make a video of me catching, cooking, and eating a Kentucky spot and washing it down with beer before relaxing with 4 fingers of whiskey and dreaming about the proper way to rig senkos

That´s a video I would watch.

That's two questions, and the answers are Yes, and Yes. Do the end credits on NCIS ask you to continue watching? Stay classy bro

Nope, they need to show off their skills.
You gotta do what you gotta do for that 10% coupon code!
i don't get it?
why do so many people want to have videos?
i have clicked on links out of curiousity and there b a 30minute video of just chucking & cranking flats.
i have noticed most seem to be younger ( under 40).
not trying to put say its wrong, just trying to get the point of the non educational videos.
I've watched a ton of videos but they are technique specific and to increase my knowledge. I just watched all of Glenn's Tube video and went out and TORE it up on them today. But just to watch some mook fish...or better yet....OPEN A FRIGGIN BOX. Nope. Generational thing. No real offense meant to anyone but I have no desire to watch YOU fish. I'd rather watch ME fish with the actual rod in my hand and the sun on my back.

If you notice, none of my videos ask for people to subscribe. I set the bar high for myself. I tell myself I have to make videos so good that people will want to subscribe.
If have to beg for subscribers, then that's a clear sign my videos suck.

Ya...me too. Not sure why anyone wants to watch a guy shopping for lures with his kids, or watching a video of some guy standing in front a barn talking about what videos he wants to make. Seriously??? LOL!
Oh wait! It's cool because there's a frivolous drone shot added in the middle somewhere!

Do you wake up at the end of the video?

I don't get it either, I did a few talking about tackle and boat organization, a casting technique and a few with different brands of trailers on swim jigs, posted in a thread on this site somewhere
I may eventually do some specific to fishing certain cover with a specific technique and keep it short. I like Glenn's philosophy on not begging for subscribers, make good stuff and people will find it.
Where I see the most promotion going on is on Twitter and Instagram, I may be guilty of doing a bit of that for a 0% discount lol.

i'm laughing over here because you just described the Lucky Tackle Box videos 100%
At this point what technique is there not at least 3 to 5 videos explaining it by some well rounded angler, semi pro, or pro? I mean how many times have you got to hear "semi-slack" or "pilings" "rocks" or "wood".
Unless you have been dead the last 100 years a pet dog can show you how to Texas Rig, and Carolina Rig. And let's not forget the word "finesse" has been said enough my great great great grandkids will be hearing it in their sleep.
Seriously what is there not videos of?
Interesting subject. I have a YouTube page that is older than most Youtubers pages, yet I don't advertise it on Internet forums.I made these videos to have the memory of me doing some of my favorite sports and I am still making videos. Its nice to have these videos and look at them whenever I want.

Yea I don't think we need a section for videos either. I don't know about y'all but I use enough data lol
Did someone mention scrapple?!

Funny you should mention that,,,just made a vid of my eldest son sharing his secrets.
