Most Bass You've Boated? 2024

fishing user avatarjayo123456 reply :

only 14 for me .... i'm betting that number is small for some of you guys.

jus wondering

(in a single fishing day)

edit: I should have noted, not including small ones. Say 2.5lb+ only..

fishing user avatarBassThumb reply :

About 100 smallies while wading. Most of them were dinks. I was out there with a buddy who was wading beside me, and he did the same.

28-30 keeper largemouth while boating.

fishing user avatarWisconsin Heat. reply :

actual boating: i think around 6 or 7 because ive only used my boat 5 times on new lakes.

otherwise i remember catching around 20 keeper sized largemouth opening weekend (14 in. give or take a few inches) and last year i spent two and a half packages of handpour worms catching a ton of micro bass that were 12 inches and under, average was probably 10" , i lost count at 21 :P

176 on October 4, 2007 at a newly opened-to-fishing lake.

fishing user avatarjayo123456 reply :

^that's nuts .... lot of dinks though? not 176 2-3lbers+ right?

fishing user avatarRed reply :

17 for me, all dinks. I have only caught 5 keepers in a single outing once.

fishing user avatarRaul reply :

Several times I´ve boated and stopped counting after one hundred.

fishing user avatarBass_Fanatic reply :

Have caught over 100 three times and had countless trips of 75 or so. When the schoolies move to points, you can catch em as fast as you can all day long. Not much size to em though.

My best day this year was about 50 bass with my top 5 weighing in at 21.43lbs!

Last year, the weekend before a tournament I had 31 lbs with a 10.1 and a 8.14 as kickers!

fishing user avatarIndiana Bass1 reply :

119 in 6 hrs.

fishing user avatarFishinDaddy reply :

I have had two days where we boated over 30 in an hour. Both days there was running water in Lake Kissimmee and they were all in the 1-3 lb range. On the other hand Kissimmee has handed my many, many more blank days with more than 8 hrs on the water. Right place, right time.

fishing user avatarBluebasser86 reply :

I've had several days of catching 100+ fish in a day but most of them were smaller fish. My wife and I did get on a good school of spots with a few largemouth mixed in on Table Rock a couple years ago. We caught fish on every cast for almost an hour straight with most of them being 1-3 pounds and my wife losing a 6+ largemouth at the boat. Still I had one day a few years back in January on a powerplant lake that I only boated 6 largemouth but the smallest was 4 1/2 and the largest was 7lbs 2oz. I'd trade days like that for 100+ fish days with dinks anytime!

fishing user avatarSam reply :

In a B.A.S.S. Region tournament on the Pamunkey River in Virginia my partner and I boated over 60 largemouth bass.

We actually lost count around 55 so it may have been more. :)

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

125 largemouth before I stopped counting in 7 hours ;)

Twice I’ve caught 17 keepers (1 ½ lb+) in row off the same piece of cover

fishing user avatar00 mod reply :

I've had days in the 60's maybe even 70's but yet to make it to 100! That would be one heck of a day, dinks or not!!

Jeff

fishing user avatarbwell reply :

About 35 for me, and 75-80 between me and my buddy.

fishing user avatarjdw174 reply :

Several times when I lived in Erie, Pa I had 120 fish days (smallmouth). LM not quite as good, but my best day was 29.

fishing user avatarquanjig reply :

If I am correct Wayne, that would have been opening week-end at Hunting Run?? Fished the Sunday of that opening week-end with a friend and caught 75+ with most fish between 3-5 lbs with a few in the 6+ range. Had 2 giants down near the dam come off after we got a good look at them. Wish they would drop the water level back down. That was epic!! What a feeling to try and shake off 4 lbers looking for bigger fish, and to hook up with 5 lbers and see four or more bigger fish with it trying to get the bait away from the one you have hooked up. Once in a lifetime experience!!

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

75 at Pickwick during the 2010 Roadtrip.

fishing user avatarS Hovanec reply :

Best day we've ever had was on the lower Niagara River in May 2004. We caught fish on the first 25 casts and we both stopped counting after 25 each. Got tired of catching so we ate lunch...then did it all over again. all fish were over 2#, many at the 4# mark and a few over 5#. have no clue how many we boated, but it had to be over 100 for the day.

A few weeks ago, we ventured on to Erie on a day that we shouldn't have. got to our spot and decided since we're here, we might as well fish. We boated 37 smallies in the 2 or so hours that we were tossed around. Seems they bite pretty good on the rough days!!

fishing user avatarJellyMan reply :

14 for me... 23 total between me and one other fisherman. We were out for 6 1/2 hours. 12 pack of Coors Light and lots of beef jerky.

Fun day.

Oh... and the website looks GREAT! I havnt been on in like 2 years!

fishing user avatarMaxximus Redneckus reply :

mid 80,s when i was young and had energy there was about 6 ponds i fished within 3 miles of each other. Me and my buddy rode bikes too each one from 6 am till about 7. Fished all day and i stopped counting at 150 biggest was about 4 lbs for me and my buddy caught the same and landed one bigger then mine .Last time i had one day catching a lot was a few yrs ago 45 and then a storm .. i miss those days no worries ,easy to get permission to fish etc etc..

fishing user avatarpiscicidal reply :

I've had three triple digit days. One of those was actually my last trip out (7/7)...I got into a literal feeding frenzy out at the Everglades where I caught fish from a football-field sized area every other cast for ~two hours (I got tired and quit). It was certainly the most fish I've ever caught on one trip...I quit counting after ~80, but my final tally was probably closer to 200 than 100. My second time was also in the everglades...low water situation where the fish were stacked up in the canal and we just pounded them all day. My third was on Okeechobee, I found another feeding frenzy situation where schools of big bass were stacked into this small, shallow area gorging on spawning bluegill. I caught ~120 that day, with 30-40 of them over 3lbs and six over five. I figure I caught ~300lbs of bass that day.

fishing user avatarBankbeater reply :

This year its been 16 while pond hopping. It was a mix of largemouth, crappie, and bluegill.

fishing user avatarFat-G reply :

This year: 32 pond fishing today. All under 3 pounds, but man they were killing a Spro frog. Lost one that would have been 8+.

fishing user avatarSirSnookalot reply :

Never bothered to keep a tally, after 2 or 3 fish I forget, even if the fish are running 20#+, like this past Saturday.

fishing user avatarRatherbfishing reply :

Until very recently, the most (between a friend and me) was 70 bass. But two weekends ago, a different friend and I caught 135 bass and lost around 20 more. I still shake my head in disbelief. It was unbelievable!

Way to go Mike! I had a very similar outing on "the Lake" the week before and after the fabled best bass day of Mike's life, caught over 100 between my partner and I, up to about 5lbs in about 5 hours. Best numbers in a short period was about 30 bass in 30 minutes in a local rock pit, nothing over 2lbs though. Also had a great Everglades outing this past year, where we stopped counting after about 50 fish, but nothing over 2lbs. Need to go to Mexico and load up on 100 bass over 4lbs in a day that would be a dream, who is with me?

Come on jacks don't count and after about 10 of them in the surf your arm falls off!

fishing user avatarBass Junkie reply :

Best day ever was on a pond, caught the evening bite and caught 40 in the time I was there including two over 5lbs. and two 6.5s. All were on either waking swimbaits or topwaters....

fishing user avatarGrey Wolf reply :

I lost count at twenty when I ran out of fingers and toes to keep count with but it was well over twenty.

Correct lake, but not opening day, I was at Lake Guntersville when it opened. It was the first day I fished there though and the next week I caught 146. That was Oct 4th and 10th, 2007. Opening day of 2008, I had one of my heaviest 5 bass for a day of 30# 11 oz. March 6th.

I've caught over 100 bass in a day there 4 times this year.

fishing user avatarbassfisherjk reply :

My best day was boating 30 largemouth in one trip.

fishing user avatarFish Chris reply :

Of course way back in the day, I had many trips where I caught too many dink bass, to keep count. But apparently, that meant little to nothing to me, as I really can't tell you anything else about those trips.

On the other hand, I can go through my photos, looking at a whole bunch of trips when I caught only 1 big fish, and tell you every detail surrounding that catch.

I've only targeted bass for about 2years so I don't have has much experience as some of you S Fla veterans. But that day was special. I had to pole my flats boat thru about8" water to get back to this spot. When I got back there and saw what was going on (huge swarms of monster bass just punishing spawning bluegill) my heart skipped about four beats. The water was 1.5' deep and crystal clear. You could see everything. It was literally a top20 event in my life...birth-of-your-kids type stuff! :-)

fishing user avatarjignfule reply :

We can catch 60-80 each a day quite regularly in a certain lake we fish, most are 1#-3# some smaller, some larger, We could catch near 100 if we fished for dinks with senko all day. Never have kept any. It's been over 20 years since I kept a bass.

im 57 years old....ive caught at lease 1000 fish in the past couple years....my favorite bait would have to be the black and yellow spinner....you can cover alot of ground in very little time..a spinner is also a quick and easy tool to test the waters youre in

When that water gets low in the Glades and the fish get stuck in the canals, it is easy to do 100+ days with most being keepers. I've never had that kind of experience at the Lake but I can only imagine how awesome that must be.

We did do the Mexico thing at Mateos in 2008 and it is just silly catching 50+ 4s-7s all day plus numerous other smaller bass (just the 2s and 3s). I'm telling you it just warps you for some time. It makes the day like I had at Sawgrass this past Sunday, 7 hours without a bite, even out LOL

fishing user avatarSGT Rico reply :

How do ya'll keep up with the numbers? Thats crazy, I've had great numbers days, but I cannot recall the amount.

fishing user avatarGatorbassman reply :

My record is 224 largemouth that were 2lbs or better. But I think I have a slight advantage because of the lake I fish.

fishing user avatarJohn G reply :

I do all of my fishing from shore and I'll bet that I have never landed more than 3 bass of any size in a one day period. I have been fishing for bass on and off since I was 12 and I am 41 now.

fishing user avatarSiebert Outdoors reply :

I've had a few 100+ smallie days on St Clair and Rainy lake. Wears ya out after awhile.

I had some momumental days on Erie as well. Anyone who has fished that lake with some regularity has had at least one 100+ fish day. Great fishery.

fishing user avatarCaptain Shane Procell reply :

My first trip into the glades I caught 85...I have been spoiled every since. Have had several 300 plus fish days between two or us. Went through 13 sacks of worms on one of those trips. Most intense was a husband/wife client that boated over 50 fish in an hour. We had to pull the plug and run for our lives due to lightening and blinding rain. If the bilge had quit we would have sunk.

I have also been skunked too many times to remember :(

fishing user avatarSoFlaBassAddict reply :

I've had a handful of triple digit days fishing solo out on some of the strip pits down here. Just awesome fun. Generally anything you do works on those few special trips. Shame that those days don't happen more often. One of those days were where I started getting confidence with fishing a jig. Some of my more memorable trips were where I caught less fish, but fishing with other people. I've had a couple of fantastic fishing trips with forum members here. We don't always find the numbers, but I remember every one of them just because of how much I enjoyed the day.

fishing user avatarjignfule reply :

Quality over Quantity, many days we could have landed triple digits but it would have been pretty much small bass on senko (boring) Now for those who catch 3-5# plus and get into triple digits. I don't think I want to hears about it. (but go ahead)

A friend and I, while canoeing Oregon's Umqua river--a relatively fast piece of water--, have several times exceeded 100 sm each. After a while your thumb starts to bleed from grasping the lower jaw. You could hardly call them bragging fish.

Salmi,

That first day of the 2011 Okeechobee tournament where you were co-angler with Glenn Browne....that must have been a pretty awesome experience. Didn't he have ~30lbs that day?

Best I did I think was 22 but mine was all dinks. This year my best is 13 biggest being 4.8 that day. On the same day my brother boated maybe 18, so 31 or so together. His biggest that day maybe close to 2?

fishing user avatarRangerEnthusiast reply :

The most in the boat in one day me and my partner combined was 57 all under a 1.5 pounds.
