Say you have one of the top bass fishing pros sitting right in front of you, all ears and ready to answer your questions, what would you ask?
What do you fish with when no one is looking?
I think my questions would evolve from his actions. That is, if he's fishing while in the boat with me. Really, I just don't know but I would be observing his actions closely. I would be interested in seeing how long he spends and goes about disecting what he's looking for. I'd like to know what drew his attention to the area where he's looking for fish. I'd take note of his lure selection and presentation and the conditions. I'd like to see his actions when he finds, don't find, or is checking previously found fish. How he may adjust to conditions or the fish's relativity of structure and/or cover.
I would probally have a big brain fart when the day was over!
I would ask him to fish his best against me and have fun.
I would probably ask what locations they chooses to fish on a new lake and why.
I think I'd ask him (or her) > How would you like to fish wherever you wanted, whenever you wanted, for as long as you wanted, however you wanted, with nobody in your way ??? <
Then I'd have to add, "It's really great. I promise. Maybe someday, you will be so lucky too" ;-)
Peace,
Fish
PS, "The Pro's" that I ***, are like Larry Dalberg, Pete Mana, Al Lindner, etc..... In other words, the guys that do their own thing, and get paid for it too ! And to those pro's I'd ask, "How can I be like you" ?
So much has been reported about rules in recent years, if you could change one rule on your professional circuit, what would it be?

Oh man, I'd like to hear the answers to that from your pro Glenn. : I know he's got an opinion.
During the sacramento ISE in january, i was able to ask a couple questions to guys like Bub Tosh, David Rush, Greg Gutierrez, Skeet Reese, and Gary Dobyns.
I was able to ask them what are there confidence techniques.
And for those techniques that you aren't confident in, when do you find time to work on it. During the tourney when the bite is hot, or on off days while fun fishing.
Also How long do you spend in one spot without any action (i.e. try one bait all over, or try several baits all over.)
I would ask a 2 part question.
What is the 1 question you get really tired of answering.
What's the 1 question you WISHED someone would finally ask?
and then,....1 more
What's better, a GYCB senko or a knock off? ;D
ok, another....DAM , I wish I were going....
Of ALLLLL the products in the world, forget your current, past or future sponsors,...what ONE product, available to the public today, would best sum up your personality on the pro trail?
Most anglers who make it to your level, all came from grass roots fishing. Folks following a passion. Do you ever miss the days of old with your dog on the bow in the 12' jon ? Days where the only pressure was to be off the lake and home in time for dinner?
Wanna fish Gville next month? 8-)
What role do you see swimbaits playing in the future of competition angling?
I've been told that these boats you'll be using are capable of speeds in the range of 70 mph,....can bass really swim that fast???
But seriously,....One last thing,.......where did you get that awesome LowBudgetHookers Team shirt??? Does it come in other colors too?? ;D
regardless of conditions,
when all else fails you reach for a _____________?
Quoteregardless of conditions, when all else fails you reach for a _____________?
A. Budweiser
B. Heineken
C. Sam Adams
Is LBH ever going to shut up ;D
And what is the main contours you focus on?
Shoot, I can answer that,...the ones on the bottom : wiseass
Quoteregardless of conditions, when all else fails you reach for a _beer_?
There, fixed that for you! ;D
I would ask if it has become just a job, or if they are still thrilled to death each morning when they wake up. I used to jump out of bed to get to work when I first became a golf pro. Now I absolutely dread going in.
Well, looks like Low Budget Poster beat me to it!
If you could start over again, what would you do differently?
QuoteShoot, I can answer that,...the ones on the bottom : wiseass
That is about as wise as those who asked where to catch fish, and the guy replied...in the water.
If I could ask one pro any question it would be Horton, and the same question anyone who follows the sport would ask him.
QuoteIf I could ask one pro any question it would be Horton, and the same question anyone who follows the sport would ask him.
Which Horton are you talking about and what question?
i would ask him..."if i gave you $50 for gas, would you take me to your favorite spot for a day of fishing? ;D
seriously tho, i would ask
"how important do you think color is when it comes to jigs and soft plastics?
It was starting to look like Russ was havin a beer there for a minute. ;D ;D
I would ask about pre-fishing a new lake. Do you fish a lot? or do you spend a lot of time searching with electronics? I am always amazed at how these guys can fish so many different lakes and still compete.
Ronnie
what do you do to get yourself ready to fish long and hard and not loose your energy, and still be able to catch fish in the last minute of say a three day event.
Let's go fishing
Can I have your boat?

I agree with CJ. I would want to be in the boat with him and watch him locate and disect spots to fish, especially on an unknown lake.

Timmy Horton, and the question of what he looks for to find those magical spots and what percentage of time does he strike out on those spots.
LBH was FEELIN' it! Yeah, i'd ask em if i could go fish with him. Lots of good questions though fellers....

Avid beat me to it. I'd ask, when all else fails, what bait do you go to?
