Cooler Weather In August Already?? 2024

fishing user avatarbigbill reply :

I did say it this spring, late spring means early fall. Where having cool 70 degree days and cooler nights. Is the hot dog days of summer over?

It surely feels like it. It's time to dust off my cooler weather equipment already. I'm hoping after all the rain things settle down now and we can do some serious fishing if the weather stays on a steady pattern.

What do you think?

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

84 degrees @ day light ;)

fishing user avatarMccallister25 reply :

I wish we were having cooler days here in NC. were in the steady high 80's. it felt pretty good yesterday, and it really made me wish the leaves were falling.

fishing user avatarGrizzn N Bassin reply :

fishing user avatarQuitlimpin reply :

DFW has hit its summer stride. I'd give my left nut for a day under 95 right about now.

fishing user avatarBadBassWV reply :

I don't have any use for your left nut, but come to the mountains of WV  Next few days are 75 for a high and low 60's at night.

fishing user avatarSudburyBasser reply :

Already cooler up here in northern Ontario...still plenty nice but I have a feeling the hottest days are behind us.

fishing user avatarMK-9 reply :

Been cool almost all summer here.

It sucks. Hard.

I hate (also see; loathe, despise, abhor, detest) winter / snow and barely got to do any fishing so far this year.

fishing user avatar0119 reply :

Sold. You'll be sure to enjoy January / February in Minnesota. -20 to -40 is 'fun'!

fishing user avatarbigbill reply :

It's so much cooler here we had a big male black bear come out of the water shed and cross the road a few houses down from me. I think he's looking for a mate already. I think we will have an early snow.

I been hunting with temps around zero, nothing is moving.

I might try ice fishing again.

fishing user avataraqualkinbush reply :

Its been in the mid to upper 80's here which is much cooler than the last few years. It was 100+ this time last year. Humidity is through the roof right now though.

fishing user avatarlmbfisherman reply :

Yeah experiencing the same here.  I went on a cottage trip up north with the family last week.  I had trouble the first two days to find the smallmouth bass (usually find them in 20+ ft of water).  I kept nabbing a lot of good sized pike though.  Anyway, on the the 3rd day decided to go to the creek/river mouths, hidden shallow coves and bays.  I started nailing them after that.  They also aren't hitting finesse or plastics.  They wanted reaction type of baits - spinnerbaits, jitterbugs, squarebill crankbaits, buzzbaits..They were staying shallow, which isn't normal obviously and because of the above normal rain fall, the water is deep and the shoreline is further up the bank than normal.  Everyone I speak to here are scratching their heads.  A few of the local tournaments have had a lot of guys going in with 1 or no fish.  They just can't find them in the normal pattern.  The one guy who won on my local lake with 3 fish at 15lbs said they were far back in cover where you can't reach them with the new shoreline.  He lost two fish because he had to pitch so far back into cover and had to cut the line because the boat couldn't get close and he could see the fish.

It looks like they are starting to go into fall mode early...hopefully you are wrong and there won't be early snow though!

fishing user avatarmddrew88 reply :

It's cooling off? In E. TX it's far from over. We're still seeing 95+ days and its been like this for the past month and a half at minimum.

Hope it comes soon.  :happy-devil-0048:

Some years it doesn't start cooling off til about November. Then again we never get snowfall this far south, but having lived in the sierra mountains before I'm just fine with that!

fishing user avatarRAMBLER reply :

99 in my front yard.  I would like to see some cool weather.

fishing user avatarHookSetDon reply :

We've had the same type of weather here. Fish are in a funk right now

What area of Ontario you at?

fishing user avatarCTGalloway21 reply :

I am in Alabama.  We haven't hit the peak of summer yet.  haha

fishing user avatarec1 reply :

Being of Asian descent, and having a grandmother that religiously follows the lunar calendar, I can say that fall is coming. Basically a week ago, we had a day that the lunar calendar claims that summer isn't over, but fall is slowly but surely creeping in.

I am going to make a guess that I will have another 2 weeks in Southern Ontario that I can go into shallow heavy cover before the fish begin to make their way out to deeper haunts. I'm sure there will always be shallow fish, but the numbers definitely won't be there in a couple of weeks.

fishing user avatarC.olivier reply :

Last summer was hotter than this one for sure.. I'm loving it :respect-059:

fishing user avatarFish Murderer 71 reply :

we're still in the high 90's here in Texas. Enjoy the cool if you have it.

fishing user avatarpaul25 reply :

Cool temps for me to upper 50's to mid 60's at night and 70'si during the day i haven't got to gwt out the last few days but I'm looking forward to the cool temps the rest of the week

Whats going to be crazy though, is the temp is shooting back up the next week.  Boy is this going to be fun on my outings this weekend.

fishing user avatarSam reply :

It will get hot again. Happens every year.

Cooler weather is upon us as God wants us to get ready for some football in two weeks!!!!

Are you ready for some football?

fishing user avatar5 Dollar Fishing Game reply :

Sorry football can stay away for a little longer.  Baseball fan here.

fishing user avatarretiredbosn reply :

We've had an off summer, I'm down on the SC/GA line. Only two days over 100, by my thermometer, yesterday high was 65, looks like today will be a repeat. Been home to WV twice this summer and it was cooler than normal there too.

fishing user avatarNEjitterbugger reply :

Up here it is getting in the 50s at night

fishing user avatarGrizzn N Bassin reply :

i saw my breathe tonight .. i love this weather.................

fishing user avatarQuitlimpin reply :

DFW has cooled off considerably in the last few days. The highs have been around 90-93 and the forecast shows the same over the next week. Its almost pleasant out. I work in a shop with the overhead doors wide open all day, and let me tell you, there is a HUGE difference between 90 and 100.

fishing user avatarSCangler91 reply :

63 degrees this morning in Greenville, SC.  Feels like a Fall football Saturday.

fishing user avatarjignfule reply :

Near Boise ID. in the last 60days or so, only two days in the high 80's the rest have been 90's to 110, and we're pretty far north.

fishing user avataraquaholic reply :

This summer has been junk here, we didnt even make it to 100. You southern guys need to quit bragging. here in 3 months youll be enjoying 70 degrees and fishing while im shoveling my driveway.

fishing user avatarDrewski73 reply :

Its almost mid-summer here in Houston..... Although we've cooled off to a November like 92!

fishing user avatar5 Dollar Fishing Game reply :

Cooling off to 92 ????? I'd roast lol.

fishing user avatarDrewski73 reply :

The difference between 92 with 40 percent humidity, and 102 with 80 percent humidity feels like 30 degrees. Ill take what we have right now!

fishing user avatar5 Dollar Fishing Game reply :

Wow!

fishing user avatarWRB reply :

The 1 thing about weather is it will change and nothing we can do about it!

Volcanic eruptions affect short term weather patterns by altering the ocean currents from changes in cloud cover. When the hype was about global warming, the past 15 years the northern hemisphere cooled and the south polar region cooled, northern polar region warmed.. Now it's called global climate change, I can agree to that, it's been doing it for my entire life time.

All the bass know is water temps and day-night cycles; it's fall when the critters they eat start to vacate the aquatic growth as the core water column starts to cool into the 60's.

Tom

fishing user avatarGeorgiaBassBros reply :

It has been unseasonably cool here in georgia. Its been a high of 70 degrees and low of 60 the past few days. I hope this isnt any indication of winter temps this year
