Does anyone know when the next magazine going to be out. When are the months a new one comes out?
I signed up and paid for bassin two years ago. After months of waiting the first issue I got had a bill in it saying I had never paid and I owed them the money. I called them and cleared it up. After that it took two years to get one year worth of issues. Just about every issue had a renewal notice in it. It's a great magazine for the information but you don't get what you pay for. I won't be doing that again.
ive alway's just picked them up in the grocery store when theirs a new on the shelf...
I have never had any problems with Bassin or any other magazines, even Reader's Digest.
Sorry to hear about your troubles.
Bassin is one of the best, if not the best, magazine on bass fishing you can purchase.
Maybe you all can give it another "whack" in 2008 and see if their service has improved.
Have a great Christmas and be sure to tell us what you all received, fishing stuff, that is!
I really like bassin magazine but their subscription department is run by the literacy foundation.
They absolutely cannot seem to get that there are 12 months in a year, that two years equals 24 months and that if you pay for a two year subscription you should not get threatening payment reminders in month #1.
I like the mag so much that i have taken the plunge again.
God willing I will get a few issues before they forget my address.
I too, have had nothing but problems with Bassin subscriptions. Last year I paid for a years subscription and received the first issue with no problem........I'm still waiting for the second. After several phone calls I just gave up.
I've had two other subscriptions with Bassin magazine and each time there was some sort of glitch, so I think I'll just buy them from the store. It's very unfortunate because I like the magazine.

You'd do better just to buy it off the shelf. I too had problems with the magazine, and received frequent renewal offers with EVERY magazine.
I emailed em and they said that it was sent in the mail on december 22.So lets see when I'll get it.I hadnt gotten the free crap that I thought was going to get either.I ordered it from there website.
One thing about Bassin Magazine is they only publish "subscription" issues 5 times/year: Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr and May/June. They also occasionally publish "special" issues that are only sold in the store.
I sent a subscription not long ago, maybe 2 weeks or so and have yet to recieve my first issue. But if I get any notices about owing them money, I know it would be a gimick. After all I used my credit card and purchased the one year term for $30 and I DO NOT owe them anymore.
If they try to get anymore out of me, they will be hearing a little bit of fussing and cussing. I am the kind who is tight on money...
WOW!
You paid $30 for one year?
I subscribed about a month ago, $13.99 for the year!
That's what bothers me about some magazines, it's almost like buying a used car, ya just never know if your getting a good deal.
Funny this thread popped up, like I mentioned, I just subscribed. I really only want the April issue. There will be an article that month that I contributed to.

I just looked back at my bank statement and I purchased In-fisherman for $30 I think it was for 2 years though...
Add me to the list of people that has had problems with them.
I paid $18 for a subscription in April and I have recieved about 12 notices that I owe them money, along with ZERO magazines.
I wrote them a nice letter, and they'll be recieving a phone call shortly if they don't respond soon.
I would HIGHLY sugguest that nobody subscribes, and buys it at the newstand instead. It's a decent magazine, so it's too bad that it's run by crooks.
Bassin...humph!!!!
I tried subscribing twice...waited and waited and waited....never got a magazine.
I emailed and asked about it and got a RUDE RUDE RUDE reply about well maybe my card was declined.
I use a "net spend" card that I load with cash so I know the money was there and Western Union, who issued the card, says there was never an attempt or a charge issued by them.
They never tried to complete my subscription.
I shared this information with Bassin' and never heard from them...
...but I keep getting junk mail from them.
same problem with "crappie".
every time i call all i get is bs. they are on the way but they never arrive.
won't order them again.
I paid for a two year back in January 07, I've received three mags. I get "friendly reminders" every month or so, guess the cancelled check wasn't proof enough. Hey, did anyone get their "free ABU reel"
I got my magazine today but no free lures as of yet.I was supposed to get some free lures with it but nothing. At least with bassmaster they send the free stuff.
There new website not even working.bassinonline which was in there new issue which i got saturday
I sent my money on 4/29/07 received 0, so I canceled last week. See how lone it take for my money to come back. LOL ;D

X2. Two issues and nothing more. We should find a way to E-mail this thread to the bassin' executives.
I did get a response from them. They sent me another invoice and one magazine. No explanation or anything.

Anybody live by this place that wants to walk over and see what there deal is?
Thanks Brent.
I clicked on your link and saw the email address for the publisher.
Here is the message I sent.
Dear Ms. Hughes.
About 3 years ago, I purchased a subscription to Bassin' magazine. I received 3 issues.
Last year I purchased a two year subscription. I received another 3 issues.
two months ago I purchased a one year subscription. I have received no issues.
I truly like your magazine, but your magazine subscription department is so inept that one must wonder if, in fact it is deliberate.
Please see the forums at www.bassresource.com. The "general bass fishing" forum has a thread currently running called "Bassin' magazine" that details many individuals with similar problems.
I cannot understand why you would sacrifice advertising revenue by loosing subscribers due to subordinate incompetence.

Avid. Now that was funny ;D
I emailed this thread and they responded in one day. I just told them that a lot of people were complaining about the same thing and that maybe that would concern them. Most likely nothing will happen. If I don't get any mags i will never buy another magizine or subscription. I will just go to Barnes and Noble and read the whole thing and then put it back on the shelf.
hmm.. Maybe they ARE fixing everything...idk...I got a subscription in December '06...I didnt get an issue and they said I never paid...Got it all figured out with them, andthey sent me about 4 magizines...then it stopped (about august)....and I go to the mailbox today, and look whats their...a Bassin' mag. I dont know whats going on.
I got my first issue on my new subscription today.
And guess what? NO threatening payment notices!!!!
Does anyone know how to read the lable code for expiration date?
I looked up the e-mail address of the Bassin' Magazine Subscription department and forwared them the comments people were having with their subscriptions. We'll see if I here anything from them. Here is the address:

I think I figured out why so many of us are having problems.
The magazine is published 5 times a year. Jan, Feb, March, April, and May/June.
That might explain why people get one magazine, then nothing for 6 months.
Last night I posted a message saying that I had found the Bassin magazine's e-mail address and had forwarded this forum's thread on the subject of their poor subscription service. I got a nice response from their subscription department this morning which is as follows. Hope this helps clarify some of the issues raised.
SeniorBasser
This information has been forwarded to us. We appreciate that you sent us the link also.
To explain after reading many of the customers concern in that forum I feel I can answer most of the questions.
Bassin' is published 5 times a year. They also produce 2 newsstand issues during the Summer and Fall months. The 5 issues are the Jan, Feb, Mar, April and May/June issues. The newsstand issues are not part of the Bassin' subscription they are kept separate and have to be purchased either on the newsstand or as an addition to the subscription.
Other concerns listed were of the invoices that the publisher sends. These are strictly to give the customer option to extend the subscription they currently have on file. They are renewal promotions only. You or any other subscriber is not obligated to extend the subscription, and can ignore any of the promotional mailings or call/email and ask to be removed from the mailing list for these types of promotions.
----------------------------------------------------
As for our Crappie World publication in previous years the magazine was published in a quarterly fashion(4 times a year). This changes with the 2008 print schedule it will be published same as the Bassin' magazine.
Please let people on the forum know this information. If other customers wish to be removed from the mailing list for the promotions when they email please put in the subject line "No promotion" and they will need to list their last name, the publication, and their zip codes. They can also email customer service at cs@natcom-publications. Please let them know if they do not receive an immediate response that customer service will get back to them.
Thank you,
Subscription Services
I too have had troubles with the BASSIN magazine. Although I think I have received every issue since I subscribed, I find it annoying that I continuously receive "invoices" stating that I owe them more money with a due date and a "order placed" date. Although the subscription services person in the earlier post states that These are strictly to give the customer option to extend the subscription they currently have on file. They are renewal promotions only. You or any other subscriber is not obligated to extend the subscription, and can ignore any of the promotional mailings or call/email and ask to be removed from the mailing list for these types of promotions. that is not what the invoice says. It states that I owe money by a given date. I find this to be a shady maneuver to trick honest people in to sending more money. This is also the reason that the expiration date is hidden so you can never know when your subscription expires. I'm tired of their trickery and will not renew my subscription until they cease this practice. I also plan to contact the Oklahoma Better Business Bureau to file a complaint about this billing practice. I would encourage others to do the same.
Its funny you guys have had troubles with the mag. I did too, but in the opposite effect.
For a while they were giving you a free 6 month sub., or 3 magazines. I sent 2 of the cards in. Not only did I get 6 months, I got 12 months, then it kept coming for another year along with notices to pay which I just put in the trash. They finally stopped, but they have some problems with their subscription service.
