Turn ons: Comedy; beautiful sunrise or sunset; seeing animals in nature; fishing; football; planning next fishing trip; and Louisiana cuisine.
Turn offs: Salty food; nasty people; loud and obnoxious people; snow; outboard motors that will not start; people who are "takers" and are not "givers" towards others.
Aspirations: To make it to 90 years old and still be fishing.
Essay: Some of the major factors that have affected my life are growing up poor with my mother; seeing my extremely intelligent father work for the underworld and go to federal prision; going to college, which was a fantastic experience and an escape from my early past; My Uncle Abe who introduced me to fishing in the Biloxi Marsh, Gulf of Mexico and Lac desAllemands; the VietNam conflict where I saw what war can do to people and how it changes them; starting own business so I can do what I want to do and do it my way, even if it is wrong plus go fishing whenever I want. Mostly business people were my influences, supporting my decision to venture out on my own and go for the gold ring.
Photos are from redfish trip in the Louisiana's Biloxi Marsh, southeast of New Orleans, this past November.
I like the redfish one the best, the one on the left.
Great honor and surprise to be selected.

You shouldn't be surprised, Sam. Since I have been here you have always been what a good member should be, IMO. Rather than announcing every good deed you perform on the boards you just sit back, on an even keel, responding with level-headed wisdom and fairness to many who have questions. I can't say I've ever seen a bad response from you. Whether you are giving advice, agreeing, or disagreeing with someone, you always do it tactfully.
Congrats Sam ;D
I'm a big Rush fan too
AWESOME!

Congrats Sam Well Done

Sam is the MAN!!!
When I first signed up, Sam mentioned that he was upgrading his on board charger. I asked him what he wanted for his old one and he INSISTED on giving it to me, free of charge.
What a guy, and a great sense of humor too!
Way to Go Sam!
Congrats Sam.
