favorite wide wobble crankbaits 2025

fishing user avatarguest reply :

I love crankbaits.

soft plastic will usually outfish em, but i don't care.

they are way more fun to fish.

except for those ratltrap days, i definitly do better with wide wobble baits, like wigglewarts and mag warts.

what other wide wobble cranks do y'all like.  and what are your favorite patterns?

fishing user avatarT-rig reply :

Tiemco Crank T Wide

fishing user avatar5bass reply :

Wiggle Wart (Originals are the best)

DD22 (my favorite crank, PERIOD)

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

Very shallow:  Bomber Square A, Norman Fat Boy and Mann's -1

A little deeper:  Bagley BII

Midrange:  Lazy Ike

Deep: DD22

I have the Rick Clunn 2.5 & 3.5, but have not fished them yet.

Catching Concepts KC2's, the widest wobbling crankbaits I've ever used - - these things dance like a fat lady chasing a Twinkie.

Lee Sisson Slim Willies (diving and shallow) = one of the best and most ignored wide wobbling crankbaits out there.

As far as other favorites:

Almost any bait from Bagley with an angled lip, indluding those little Honey Bees....those can be some fish catching little dudes.

Wiggle Wart

Arbogast Mud Bugs and Original Bombers

Ever Green Combat Flat

Poe's 200 (way under-appreciated)

Jackall Geronimo Magnum

As far as deep cranks:

Lucky Craft Flat CB D12 (I WISH they would bring this design up to a 15'-16' diver)

Competition Cedars / Poe's 400 and 400 Plus

Jackall Muscle Deep 15+ (probably about the widest)

Competition Cedars 4500 LR (for up to 20+)......definitely wider than a DD22, casts farther, and dives about 4-5' deeper.

fishing user avatarRaul reply :

Besides all the already mentioned ones: Storm Thundercrank, StrikePro DD Shad, StrikePro Oscar ( an oversized version of the Megabass Griffon ), Rapala Fat Rap.

Thank you kelley

fishing user avatarStringjam reply :

Avid,

The Ebay store is the only place online that you can buy them, but you probably won't see this model there - - - don't hesitate to email the owner (Herman Oswald).  Here's a great guy to deal with and you can just tell him what you want and he'll work it in.  His finish work is always beautiful.

These are cedar baits if I remember correctly, and dive about 5' - with so much kick and roll they're almost unstable!  I love em' for when I really want to get noticed...they come through heavy cover and deflect extremely well.  Very unique, and something bass don't see a lot of (flatsided plugs especially).

There's a member on this board (BIG M) who told me he would make any body style and any wobble I wanted - - and his work looks absolutely beautiful as well......I'm definitely going to pull the trigger on some of his baits pretty soon and try them out.

fishing user avatarben23 reply :

yeah, those Catching Concepts cranks are pretty awesome. For some reason the Smallmouth CRUSH the KC2 in his splatterback color.  My favortie wide wobbler is the KC1, basicaly the same thing, just smaller body style.

Another one to check out for wide wobbling from catching concepts is his SB2; it is a rounder body made of balsa instead of cedar- great for cranking laydowns and shallow brushpiles.

Hard to beat a BDS 1 or 2 or Bagley B2 around shallow wood when the heat is on.  I think the BDS 3 and 4 are different acting, slender baits that I wouldn't really consider a wobbler.  The RC series are awesome baits as well...they have been a factor in many tournament wins over the past two years, but maybe have what I call a 'searching' wiggle rather than a true fat wobbler.  The WEC Wobbler that Ed Chambers makes is one I tie on when I really need to get bit, but it rolls maybe a little more than it thumps, but is just superb (got any for sale ;)).  The Brians B's are stellar...worth the money versus the H&D's that I think are overrated.  I honestly use quite a few...

I agree on the Wobblers......it was a very different action than I was expecting.   Somewhat like the RC's, but maybe a little tighter and "quicker."
