I haven't tried the Eel yet, but I know I'll like it and the Smokin Rooster will be one of my Favorites too.
They're all my favorites, but if I had to choose one, I guess I'd pick the Shad. I've caught bass on all the Rage baits, and with the lineup they offer, I can find just the right Rage Tail for any occasion.
I just picked up some Eeliminators and Smokin Roosters because I watched a video and their action is awesome and I just like those kind of baits. I am also going to give the lizard a good workout in the spring. Right now I don't have a favorite but I have high hopes for all of these.
10" Anaconda currently, but I suspect
the Smokin' Rooster will soon become
my favorite.
The Lobster is my favorite jig trailer.
The newest bait I have yet to fish is
the Rage Hawg. I think it has a lot of
potential.
8-)
I love the roosters, amazing bait. I'll probably have one of them tied on one of the poles majority of the time.
I don't think I could just pick one of the baits. My choice depends on where I am fishing and the type of waters I am fishing. I like throwing the toads and shad over grass mats and around lilly pads, pitching the craws and lobsters to cover and boat docks, swimming the smokin roosters, eeliminators and space monkeys. The Anaconda works really well on a keel weighted hook and tx rigged. I have also had good luck throwing the lizards on a jig head.
Just my 2 cents
I have had excellent success using the rage chunk as a jig trailer and the buzzfrog has produced very well too.
Compared to the action of other soft plastics of a similar shape, can you honestly say the Rage Tail baits catch more fish?

Most baits in the Rage line are unique in shape. The ones like the Rage Hawg and Craws do have more action than similar type baits. That being said my favorite is still the Rage Shad, but of the new breed, I'm going to be fishing the Eeliminator alot this year.
I'm glad no one said Thumper worm. :-X
Going to have to pick me up a pack it seems

many of the rage baits have a unique design, not much to compare them to. For the ones that do have similar comparisons, I find the rage baits absolutely catch more fish. You can't compare the action of rage tail baits to the action of other similar baits, that's like comparing your chevy to your lambo imo. Take for example the rage hog... try to find a similar hog bait with the same movement. here's a hint... don't waste your time!
Obviously this doesn't mean that other baits won't be effective, and it doesn't mean that only the rage baits will catch fish. there's a bajillion different kind of crankbaits out there, but everyone has their favorite for whatever reason. Just like spinnerbaits, soft plastics, etc. So, like all baits/poles/reels/etc, much of it comes down to preference.
Greatest invention since the Senko
I have had amazing success on the shad and can't wait to try the eeliminator and the rooster.
Just picked up a couple of bags of the Smokin' Rooster to try next spring. I've done well on the 7" Anaconda.

I warn you, it won't be your last...
that video just made my heart pound. i actually picked up a pack of the rage craws last night and went ahead and put it on an evo 2 shakey head and i gotta tell you, that thing is seeexy. i filled my bathub last night so i could watch it and man does it look like a ticked off craw in a defensive position. beautiful action.
Smokin Roosters look amazing. I have never tried them but I will this spring.

Thankyou for considering the Rage Tail products. And a big thankyou to each of you who posted to assist wisconsin heat with information on this topic.
As many of the responses noted there are several designs to choose from and each has it's time and place for an enjoyable fishing experience. To your mention of the Eeliminator, It is one of my mainstays on the water with C rigging and/or weightless as a topwater being my favorite uses.
I normally fish the lighter colors as topwaters and darker colors for subsurface applications although time of day and color of water can alter my choices.
Here is a link that might give you more information to understand rigging, fishing techniques etc. when using the Eeliminator.

If you are interested in similar information on any of the other designs, you can find it on the Rage Tail home page by clicking on "Rage Tail Products" in the top bar, then clicking the chosen bait design.
Hope that helps and thanks again....

Hard to choose a favorite, but the lobster on a jig has produced some serious weight for me.
I've caught a bunch of fish on the eeliminator and it's really fun to fish. The shad and toad get some explosive strikes and lots of fish. The craw has caught me a bunch of fish as well.
The baby craw has replaced most of my drop shot baits. Its absolutely killer on a drop shot. It works very well on a shakey head too. Also makes a great trailer for finesse jigs.
I haven't fished the smokin rooster or the rage hawg very much yet, but I'll start messin with them soon.
The thumper is a great bait, and also works well on a drop shot and a shakey head if you cut it down a bit. The full size bait works great on a c-rig.
Oh, and the RT lizard is great on a light weight c-rig. I like the green pumpkin one with the tail dipped in JJ's. Good stuff.
I'm a bit of a ragehead, if you can't tell.
Best bait in plastics on the market!!!!
The most productive for me has been the space monkey and the craw. Third would probably be the toad. The lobster, to me anyway, is a larger version of the craw with triangular "fins" on the body segments.
Haven't tried the new models yet, but did pick up a package of the Eeliminator, and a couple of the baby craws.
The baby craws for finesse fishing. I've used the Yamamoto Flappin Hog (forgive me Big-O) with good success as a finesse bait. But when they want something smaller I've switched to the Yamamoto crawdad 3 3/4", and done well.
I've tried the Rage craw, w/o much luck. I think the baby craw will be just the ticket for the times they want a smaller bait.
I'll also pick up some smokin roosters. Just like the look of them.
As was stated, it was the videos which convinced me to try the rage tail products. The fishing confirmed my judgement.
My experience with the toad and shad is to be patient when a fish hits, or you'll pull the bait from their mouth.
I stumbled onto this when I got a backlash while casting a shad. It took several seconds to sort it out.
When I took up the slack, there was a bass on the line.
Prior to that, they had been hitting it, but trying to set the hook when I felt or saw the hit resulted in bringing back just the bait.
Subsequent casts, allowing the shad to settle and rest on the bottom, and on the retrieve, when I felt a hit, giving a bit of slack, and allowing the fish an opportunity to turn the bait produced more consistent hooksets.
Don't need to do that with the monkey or the craw. I suspect it may be related to the size of the different baits.
I also recognize that there may be times when a quick hookset may work better. It's a pattern you have to figure out on a given day.
I can't wait to fish the Eelimintor and the Rooster! I may have to fish them in the bathtub! ;D
I love the RageTail Craw in the new smaller version as a jig trailer with a little Megastrike rubbed in.It will defintely outfish other soft trailers(eve in the back of the boat.Green Pumpkin and blk/Bl flake are my favorite colors.Crowcommander
I love the Anaconda and the Lizard(most action of any lizard on the market). As soon as my local shop gets a new shipment, gonna pick up some Thumpers and Roosters.
My favorite has got to be the Rage Tail Toad. In my opinion its the best soft plastic toad out there.
