fishing user avatarcart7t reply :

They all stink.  Some worst than others.

fishing user avatarBassNub reply :

JJ'S MAGIC haha

fishing user avatarJacobK reply :

none is best

fishing user avatarfatmanslim247 reply :

I have been using lunker lure sauce.  I love jj's but I hate the mess, or possibility of a mess.  The thing that caught my eye with the lure sauce is that it is in a window chalk or shoe polish type container, which makes it super easy to apply and no mess.  Plus it stinks just like the rest of them and it last for a long time.

fishing user avatarRob.Atl reply :

Bang in the spray can was sick last time i used it :)

JJs worked really well too

i havent had much luck with the megastrike however

fishing user avatarYeahSure reply :

I've just been using the Yum garlic scent, haven't tryed any others though. How does everyone feel about the yum scents?

fishing user avatarUncle Leo reply :

I like Megastrike only because time and time again it has proven to me to work. On countless occasions I have held on a spot knowing the bass are there and have had short strikes, questioning whether this was bluegills just nipping at it. They would pick up a jig or T-Rigged plastic and drop it. I added Megastrike and bam no more pickup just a gobble. For this reason I am sold.

fishing user avatarMuddy reply :

one ounce pure anise oil    8.99

4 ounces of mineral oil       1.99

in a pray bottle

or I upgraded this year

4 ounces of pure anise oil into a

1/2 bottle of Bassmate Bass/Craw Scent

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

JJ's Magic for jig trailers. I treat all mine at home, outside.

Put them back into high quality bags like GYCB, NetBaits

and Rage Tail come in. Soft plastics do not need to be treated

immediately before being used. This eliminates the main issue

with JJ's (messy).

For all other soft plastics and hardbaits, MegaStrike is THE BOMB!

MegaStrike is very effective and user friendly. In addition to

the attractant aspect, the Vasoline consistancy allow baits

and lures to slide more freely through weeds and in a fish's

mouth!

8-)

fishing user avatarTrippyJai reply :

I started to put MegaStrike on my Yamamoto and Zoom baits this year. I'm not sure if it has helped, but it can't do no harm either. Helps cover up unwanted odours. I wish *** came out with scent as well. They are awesome IMO.

fishing user avatarbigtimfish reply :

Kick n Bass anise shad and craw scents

fishing user avatarKYntucky Warmouth reply :

I have both JJs and megastrike and like them both.  JJs permiates and lasts a long time, usually longer than the bait.  They are completely different products and hard to compare.  Both are great.

fishing user avatarrboat reply :

I have used the original megastrike and love it. It does not stink and really works. They changed the formula and I have not tried the new formula which they say smells like garlic. I hope the old formula is still available, I love it. Maybe Bobby can let us know. I am willing to try the new formula, but I would rather not change when I find something I like that works.

fishing user avatarMALTESE FALCON reply :

Earlier this season, I was fishing a spot that I was sure held some bass. After a few casts with no strikes, I applied some Megastrike. Three out of the next four casts produced fish. That was all the convincing I needed.

picked up a small bottle of powerbait bass attractant from wally world this afternoon. we'll see how it goes.

fishing user avatarGlenn reply :

The new Megastrike smells like fish to me.  It's not a very strong scent, but man... the taste REALLY lingers!

Ya, I know what you're thinking, but no, I didn't "try" it.  I had pre-rigged some tubes, including "pre-scenting" them with Megastrike.  When I went to tie one on, I hadn't realized I got some on the line. When I wetted the knot...surprise!

I did that with JJ's under my fingernails.

I prefer JJ's.  I just ordered 4 bottles of clear tonight.

fishing user avatarGatorbassman reply :

Megastrike is great stuff. I use it often, but when I really need the bites I go with JJ's Magic. I'll let my videos do the talking.

fishing user avatarBassFishingMachine reply :

I use Megastrike on soft baits, and YUM Crawfish spray on jigs.

I don't know if the scent makes a big difference, but I guess its a confidence thing for me at this point. I have often used soft baits without applying megastrike (out of lazyness) and have caught plenty. Although I pretty much always use the Yum spray on my jigs, I don't know maybe I just like spraying that stuff... ;D

I also use the Yum garlic scent. Perfect for those days that they just won't take it all the way.

fishing user avatarBobby Uhrig reply :

DO THE GOO!

fishing user avatarMottfia reply :

Alot of it depends on your style of fishing. As a fast fisherman, Scent doesn't do me much good but as you slow down scent does become a bigger factor. If you think about pattern fishing and putting together a puzzle scent would be a small piece of the puzzle, with structure and bait being large pieces.

but with that said, if you know where the fish is and what lure will get the fish to react then you are in the right ball park. Now what happens when things slow down like they always do during the mid day. Well you should grab that bottle of scent and see if that changes you luck before leaving the area or changing lures.

Dude, those videos are crazy!

fishing user avatarpowerman970 reply :

I can't believe that nobody has said anything about Kick'n Bass.  It is great and all you have to do is put a few drops in a ziploc with some worms and marinate them a bit.

I also like garlic Spike-It.  I'm not crazy about the dye aspect of it but when I have one of those days where the fish are hitting quick and dropping the bait, a little Spike-it always makes them hold on long enough to get a good hook set.
