Favorite all around tackle brand? 2025

fishing user avatarKyle S reply :

What brand of tackle do you have the most of? Zoom? Strike King? Live Target??? I've found myself leaning towards Strike King products quite often and am curious as to what you guys prefer.

fishing user avatarCroakHunter reply :

Strike King and Berkley are my favorite soft and hard baits.

1. Strike king here too. Crank baits, jigs, rage tails, topwater. Good products

2. Zoom soft plastics.

3. I do have a good selection of smithwick baits thought

fishing user avatarJWall14 reply :

Zoom for plastics and whatever’s cheapest for hardbaits.

fishing user avatarJustALineWetter reply :

Mepps for spinners

Rapala for crankbaits

Berkley for worms/lizards

Yamamoto for Senkos.

Others - catch-as-catch-can

fishing user avatarthedilettantedad reply :

Overall - Zoom.

fishing user avatarfin reply :

Zoom and H2O Academy brand lures are the best values usually and cover most of what I need, but there are lots of things that only other companies make that are indispensable. There's no one company that has everything I need.

fishing user avatarstratoliner92 reply :

Soft Plastics - Zoom, NetBait

Hard Baits - Strike King because I can't find enough sales on Lucky Craft and Megabass I want????????

fishing user avatarDens228 reply :

I forgot to list War Eagle for spinnerbaits.

fishing user avatarEGbassing reply :

Zoom for soft plastics and strike king for hardbaits definitely.

fishing user avatarLog Catcher reply :

Zoom for soft plastics. Bandit and Norman for crank baits. War Eagle for spinner baits. Just getting started using 6th Sense crank baits but have not had much luck with them yet.

fishing user avatarRHuff reply :

Rapala because they also produce storm, sufix, vmc, and terminator, which covers 80% of it for me..

fishing user avatarOregon Native reply :

Tubes/grubs....Dry Creek

Jigs....mine

Spinner baits...War Eagle mostly

Swim baits...Kietec

Most other plastics...Zoom

Hardbaits....wow....many many brands...this is eye candy

fishing user avatarNYWayfarer reply :

Z-man and Berkley cover most of my fishing needs.

fishing user avatarHawkeye21 reply :

I'm a big fan of Z-Man.  I started with their chatterbaits and now use their soft baits as well.  I love Gary Yamamoto baits but I can't stand replacing them after almost every fish.  I haven't found anything as durable as the Elaztech baits yet.

fishing user avatarTizi reply :

My favorite crankbaits -vintage Mann's (razorback, deep pig, bowfin, etc)

Modern crankbaits - Berkley and 6th Sense

Plastics - Mann's, Berkley, Zoom

Spinnerbaits - War Eagle, Strike King

Jigs - Siebert

fishing user avatarSwbass15 reply :

Plastics: Yamamoto and strike king lil bps

cranks: strike king

topwater: river2sea and rebel

fishing user avatarBrock_v reply :

Hardbaits - 6th sense

jigs - dirty jigs

plastics - I fish rage tail products alot but also like some zoom, Berkely and missle stuff I think that every company has a bait that they make really well

fishing user avatarscaleface reply :

Berkely for hard baits . Their crankbait lineup  covers everything .

fishing user avatarHook2Jaw reply :

For me, YUM covers my soft plastics, except for Berkley's Hollow Swimbait.  Berkley and H2O cover my hard baits.  Booyah covers my jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and hollow body frogs.   VMC covers my terminal tackle.  H2O handles my tungsten.  Lead?  Whatever.

Been a bit underwhelmed with H2Os jerkbaits, has anyone used Berkley's Cutter and Skinny Cutter line?

fishing user avatartander reply :

Z Man for plastics and Bandit for crankbaits.

fishing user avatarGlaucus reply :

Based on this past season, probably Z-Man. I spent all season chasing river Smallies. I like the Ned Rig, I like their mini chatterbait, and I started using their TRD Craw as a trailer for the Bitsy Bug. Then it would have to be Strike King for their KVD squarebills and, of course, the Bitsy Bug jigs. I also use 75 and 90 Whopper Ploppers and 4 and 5 inch Senkos.

River Smallmouth love the Z-man TRD Tubez on a Shroomz head jig.

I will have to try the TRD Craw.

The TRD Craw is amazing. I liked it on a traditional ShroomZ Jighead. I had been using the Baby Rage Craw for the Bitsy Bug. Didn't even register in my mind to use the TRD Craw until I saw that my favorite kayak angler and river smallie chaser on YouTube switched from using a Kalins grub on his Bitsy Bug to using the TRD Craw. Amazing results.

fishing user avatarOregon Native reply :

Oops....forgot...do love those TRD's.
