Updated : Favorite ZMan TRD Colors ? 2024

fishing user avatarChrisD46 reply :

Quite a bit of expanded Zman TRD colors of late - any new ones you have tried out with success or want to try ? ... Hot Snakes is a newer good small mouth  / spotted bass color due to the bright green (although toned down from the neon green of the Coppertreuse color) ... Meat Dog is 50-50 Green Pumpkin and Purple and looks like it would be a good  large mouth color ... Hot Craw should be good in pre-spawn when bass key in on the color Red more . When all else fails - perhaps the new all -Black Yoga pants color is such a strong silhouette color that bass will hit it out of curiosity or necessity when the water is muddy . Lastly , what ever new color TRD you try out - a single package will last you about 5,000 bass so will know for sure if a new Zman color is good for your area or not .

fishing user avatarJediAmoeba reply :

Perfect Perch and Molting Craw were my favorite this year.

fishing user avatartander reply :

I carry only Green Pumpkin and Junebug, figure if I can't catch them on these 2 colors, they are not biting at all. ????

fishing user avatarJason.Domingo reply :

Meat Dog has been producing a lot for me these past couple of months

fishing user avatarFishinBuck07 reply :

Pb&j and mud minnow always!

fishing user avatarDorado reply :

Looking forward to trying Yoga Pants this spring (sounds so wrong lol). GP orange and Cali Craw have been my top producing colors so far

Love me some yoga pants ... whoops wrong forum

fishing user avatarMunkin reply :

Green pumkin is all I have used so far but I did pick up some in yoga pants.

fishing user avatarfishwizzard reply :

Drew’s Craw is my new favorite, used with a red jighead.  Second would be GP Goby with a chartreuse jighead.

Honestly Z-Man has so many good colors that I change it up a lot, keeping to one “light baitfish” and one “dark baitfish” color each.

This is a safe space, feel free to express you self.

fishing user avatarMN Fisher reply :

Black/Blue Flake and Green Pumpkin were no-shows this past year.

Did get a couple on Canada Craw though.

May pick up a couple more colors to mix it up a bit.

fishing user avatarThe Bassman reply :

Carry 'em all in one bag when I'm fishing. The lighter ones pick up some color from the others. As for choice I pretty much use whichever one I grab.

fishing user avatarMidwest Fisherman reply :

They are all my favorite color but the bass seem to appreciate blue/black, green pumpkin/orange & green pumpkin. Occasionally they will kill the pearl but haven’t seen any pattern in which it works

fishing user avatarA-Jay reply :

Green Pumpkin (pictured below) & The Deal have been my top producers.

fishing user avatarJig Man reply :

I carry 21 colors and have caught fish on all but 2 of them.

fishing user avatarFinessegenics reply :

As simple as they are, coppertreuse and especially green pumpkin orange absolutely slay the smallmouth for me. Green pumpkin orange perfectly imitates the craws here

fishing user avatarBluebasser86 reply :

Green pumpkin/orange and green pumpkin were far and away my best producers this year. The past few weeks I've been doing good on a Molting Craw Big TRD though and I had one trip this summer the smallies wanted a bubblegum TRD and nothing else.

fishing user avatarwaymont reply :

Coppertreuse, Cali craw, new money, and Canada craw are all I use every year.

fishing user avatarChrisD46 reply :

Good replies ! ... I need to give Molting Craw a chance this coming year .

fishing user avatarSAL321 reply :

These just work well. Of course it's situational on weather and such but Canada Craw, The Deal and Green Pumpkin Goby send the SM on St. Clair into a frenzy.

fishing user avatarreelfast reply :

Green pumpkin and Junebug have been my best 2.

The southern highland reservoir (LM and spotted bass) I fish is a "use any color - as long as it's green pumpkin" fishery ... I'm trying to become more educated and branch out to test this theory with other colors which may be dependent on water temp , water color , what part of water column , etc. to see what else may work in the way of TRD colors .

fishing user avatarHawkeye21 reply :

All I've ever needed was green pumpkin and black/blue.

fishing user avatarww2farmer reply :

I use 2 regularly

Green Pumpkin

Black and Blue

fishing user avatarFishTank reply :

Out of curiosity, what were the 2 colors?

fishing user avatarSteelhead reply :

I do well on all colours. Of the newer colours Mood Ring, Green Pumpkin Goby and Yoga Pants have been excellent. Purple Death in the Ticklerz has been deadly.

fishing user avatarBird reply :

*Don't forget Junebug if Black & Blue are not working as a dark color / stained water color .
