Looking for a replacement to the Xcalibur One Knocker. Booyah is amazingly dumb for dropping all the good colors, and their customer service has said they are making them again, then they say they're not next time I inquire, so it's time to move on. Not paying 20 or more for these.
Are there any other one knocker style lures? They consistently catch more fish over lures with multiple rattlers.
Preferably up to 1oz. I use from the 25 to the 100 size for different fish.
Rat l trap makes one now called . 1 knock
@mcfishing620,
I agree with you that they shouldn't have done away with a lot of the One Knocker previous colors. You might want to take a look at the Strike King Red Eye Shad Tungsten 2 Tap. I just bought some and have only tried them once so far so I can't tell you if they are good or not. But, they do make a knocking type sound.
Red Eye Shad 2 Tap has been great for me.
Booyah makes a one knocker in a lot of good colors that have worked well for me also though.

The Xcalibur One Knocker seems to have a lesser following the the XR50's etc.. The XR50's are available on Ebay and for lot's of 3 you pay roughly $10-11/lure assuming it's not some color in demand. Give Ebay a shot and find a lot of 3 to bring the price down.
SPRO Aruku Shad. They use a wrapped weight ball for a different sound. Killer on smallmouth.

Been doing that for a while now. All I use is chrome and black and they're expensive. With them being discontinued anyways, it's time to move on unfortunately. Just shows that Xcaliburs company cared more about the money from Booyah than they did continuing to make awesome fishing lures. For the price there was nothing even close in quality.
There is one from profound outdoors. its a company Timmy Horton, Boyd Duckett and Kelly Jordan are sponsored by. its called azuma or something. ive seen him pushing it on his TV show
I scoured over Tackle Warehouse and am trying a Jenko Rip Knocker and a 2 Tap. Both chrome and black, 3/4oz for wiper. One took my 1oz chrome black Xcalibur one knocker 2 days ago, I almost cried haha.
The Duo Realis G-Fix Vibration Tungsten Lipless Crankbait has been a very solid producer for me.
Late season I fish it like a blade bait on the bottom.
Deadly on smallies (the pike & walleye can't lay off it either - if you're into that sort of thing).

The XRK50 is the Excalibur one knocker which is now made by Booyah.
I would think Booyah has a color that would work for you.
Quality and the way they fish seems the same on the Booyah as the old Excaliburs
I may have some 3/4 XRK75 left in black/chrome blue/chrome if interested.
And multiples of these Booyah.

I picked up a pair of Red Eye Shad Tungsten 2 taps after Bluebasser once posted a picture of one that was all torn up from fish. For me, lures that have lost all the paint from fishing forces me to go out and try them.
I love the Red Eye Shad and it is one of my go to's for lipless cranks, I know it has a great shimmy but all I know is that the RESHAD, Bill Lewis, Cordell Spots, Xcaliber, all catch fish but I will say with confidence that you will not regret buying a few 2 Taps because you can get extra fish with them in same water you finish throwing a regular lipless.
There is a great article online a magazine once did which broke down the main differences in sound/Frequency, glide vs. Fall, and they tested all the main brands, and the XCalibur one Knockers are awesome, I have not noticed much or any difference from Booyah since Pradco made Excalibur & Booyah, so it wasn't like them taking over Bandit.
2 tap is a winner, Bill Lewis one knocker, Rapala Clackin rap (I never use it but I know people who love it-Loud single steel ball, has a completely different action than most traps.)
Here is a curve ball lipless that you will like if you can find them...Reaction Strike LV series which is also sold under Viscious and few other companies now. RS is an OEM, they come with cheap hooks, but the LV series has 2 line ties, scaled finish, and sounds like it has sand in it. I put Triple Grips on them and they are a killer lure.
Last 2 lipless baits to consider for different sounds-Strike Pro Euro Vibe one Knocker which is also sold by a few high end companies and some days they love that longer thinner shape. Again, change out the factory trebles on Strike Pro lures, but they have an impressive portfolio of designs they do for other companies as well, The OEM versions have cheap hooks but sell much cheaper.
Sebile Flat Shad Suspending 77mm.....Silent but vibrates, it is a great lure to pitch in tight areas or holes in grass, same shape of a juvenile bluegill, Owner trebles, One of my "Secret weapons". Sometimes killing it during pre spawn, spawn in front of fish will drive them nuts. You can also upsize the split ring or hook and it glides super slowly to the bottom...You can find them for about $10 online and the liquid filled scales falling off seems gimmicky, but the Flatt shad is legit. Patrick Sebile designs alot of great lures, sometimes he gets carried away like River2sea, but now that Pure Fishing owns them, try and find the originals.
Hope that helps. If Cotton Cordell has a one knocker, I would buy one, they are awesome for fishing in shallow grass. Most people don't fish them since they only cost $3.00 & were popular in the 80's, but if its not broke, why fix it.
Ebay has the Euro Vibe. its a one knocker like Xcalibur, and only $5. It is clearly much nicer than most $5 lures for obvious reasons.

Hell of a reply haha.
Hi-Tek made Xcalibur. Pradco has owned Booyah, and eventually bought Hi-Tek, which of course included the Xcalibur line. Why they would try to make their own version of the original colors I have no clue. Plus dropping a ton of the best colors and the 1oz size was a horrible move. Apparently they haven't looked on eBay at the prices of basically everything they are not making anymore.
I picked up a 3/4oz 2 tap chrome and black, so we'll see how that does.
I generally put triple grip hooks on, but have been thinking about trying something else. They seem to get dull fairly easily, and bend pretty often too. Wiper will put a strain on your gear for sure.

Ya, I type quick and sometimes just let it rip...
I hear you with Pradco limiting the colors and sizes, I actually picked up a bunch from a local shop about a year ago when people were panicking and I was able to sell XR25, XR50's from $10-$50. Rayburn red would sell instantly at $25, same with a few other colors, I should have stocked more for myself but I saved a few of the one knockers for myself. I have not used the new Booyah versions but I am sure the lure changed, Lures under the Rebel label have changed over the years like the pop'r, Was once a Zell Pop, then they changed the mold a few times as well which is why guys on Ebay put dates and Country for poppers and some go for much more than $5
Not that it matters but Pradco has always owned Excalibur lures, they put out the Hi Tek Version about 10? years ago when they were phasing out the Bill Dance series like the Ghost Minnow etc as Xcalibur was quality early on, then they became a bargain brand that were really cheap until they created Hi-Tek. Pradco has about 20 brands under them, if you visit that site every so often around Holidays they will have really low clearance prices on good lures etc.
I actually think my local Dicks still has some xrk100 in crawdad colors on clearance rack, probably not the 1 knockers but down here the 100 never really sold, but Ebay still has plenty and liquidators will still get them in sporadically when tackle shops go out of business.
I plan on stopping by a few liquidators today, If I see any Shad colored XRk's that arrived, I will grab some. One good thing about Florida is all the deals on older tackle at flea markets and wholesale to the public deals.
I would seriously consider buying a Reaction Strike which has 3 sizes, I think the Viscious is a Reaction strike, but I actually have a good amount of them in larger size, close to the 100 and they flat out work.
If interested I would send you a few at cost as I opened way too many and will never use the 2 dozen or so I have. If you are up North you will love the 2 line tie option for jigging or swimming shallow or deep regardless of size. The sound is unlike any rattle bait I have held, but if you like quiet, it flat out works.
Sorry for the ramble again. If Yo-zuri has a one knocker in the vibe line, it would be identical to the Xcalibur for the most part. Very similar lure, Not sure about sound options. They appear to be made in same place.

Good info on the company. They had a great line of lures. Everything they made was excellent quality, great colors, and worked.
I but like 20 citrus shad and 20 chrome black in various sizes and styles from TW before they discontinued them. Never tried Rayburn. Heard the Booyah version color is off though.
If you see any chrome black Xcalibur one knockers in 50, 75, or 100 I'm definitely interested.
How much for the Viscious, and are they chrome black? That color works better than anything here. It's like they won't even touch chrome blue.
Ghost minnow looks good for where I'm at. Are you talking about the extreme vibe?

I have the Reaction Strike Version but they are making the Viscous model on TW, same lure, Reaction Strike used to make lures for alot of companies, They no longer say OEM on their website but I know they were making all the Cabelas Swimbaits, Several Frogs, you will recognize lures if you go on the site. Kind of like Strike Pro. They have had I think 4000 Models sold? You can see that they make a wide variety of lures from Japanese Brands to house brands, then they sell everything cheaper under the Strike Pro label with cheaper hooks, different colors, but they still make many lures that are no longer made. They still have the Yo-zuri Arms series on their site.
I would ship the Reaction Strikes new out of package for $2.50 each, shipping only about $2, I can toss in some bulk soft baits to fill up space that will all be stuff you use or will recognize right away. Ill check on colors and get back to you. I may have an XRK silver and black actually....
reaction stike LV lipless which is disco'd now.

New Viscious
http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Vicious_Extreme_Vibe_/descpage-VEV.html
Same exact lure. I actually think the 2 companies are under same umbrella but not 100% sure, either way it appears identical. A japanese Company I think Zenith also has the same one or one of the odd ones you see sometimes.
the 1 oz is the size of the 75 xcalibur.
So you can sell a couple ghost minnow in 1oz for $5 plus shipping? I'd go for that. I'd take any chrome black XRK also.
Its XV series and description from Reaction strike is Identical to the Viscious description word for word on TW.
Same lure for sure.
The XV series of baits are without a doubt the best vibration baits ever produced. The sleek design cuts the water creating a loud vibration that you will feel the moment the bait hits the water. Rattle baits have been around since the begining of time, but the moment you tie on an XV series, you will immediately see what the buzz is all about! The XV series imitate a panicked baitfish. The low frequency vibration chambers imitate the vibration of a fleeing school of baitfish. To a bass, or other predator, it simply means dinner time. XV-55 - 2”, XV-65 - 2.5”, XV-75 - 3”
I'd want 1 xv75 and 1 xv65 both in ghost minnow. Same color as the one on TW correct?
Let me know about the XRK too.
I have some good ones .They are called Pico Perch and Bayou Boogie .
Good thread.
Xcalibur made a great one knocker. The Crome and black and Rayburn was tops. I know, they are smaller then one ounce, but the storm arashi vibe is a good one knocker. And they have a chrome and black. Also the Jenko rip knocker is good.
The storm holds up to bowfin/choupique. But after a few, you can see the teeth marks and paint coming off.
The One Knocker is the same lure as the Xcalibur XR50 and XR75. Consumers still think that they are different but they’re not! Literally the same exact lure.

Yeah the bait itself is the same, but they don't have nearly the color selection of Xcalibur, and what makes no sense is to stop making their best colors.
I spoke with a sales rep from Booyah and he said they will be making chrome and black again, in all their current sizes and styles. VERY excited for this.
I still use the Xcaliburs , if I ever lose em I’ll just buy the booyahs.

I wish we could buy all the original sizes and colors. Xcalibur made really high quality and effective lures. Wonder why they sold out?
Excalibur made very nice quality lures at affordable prices. Reminds me of six sense they are similar in price and make good looking lures, but there not Excaliburs I’ll tell you that, and I don’t believe six sense make any knockers but I still collect Excaliburs when I can find them.
To be clear, Excalibur and Xcalibur are not the same, and not the same ilk.
