Are you using a trailer? Also depending on the water clarity you may want to go with a more natural coloring

yes I am using a trailer and the water clarity is pretty stained and dirty, visibilaty maybe 1 foot. These are the two trailer I am using.

K. I would try sticking with that black n blue. Also attempt to skip it into areas a normal cast wont go. Thats when ai catch em on the chatter.
Running it along the bank is also money.

Plenty of posts/articles on BR that cover this. The only thing I would add is don't give up. Chatterbaits flat out catch bass. Gaining confidence in a new bait and technique is sometimes the hardest part of bass fishing.
I've been fishing for many years. In the past year, I've decided to learn to fish a Chatterbait. Picked up a few different patterns and a few different trailers. Still have not picked up my first fish on this bait, mostly because I haven't dedicated the time to do so. I'll get one soon.

Use it like you would a spinnerbait then experiment from there......big fish bait.
Alot of wind- throw spinnerbait
Not enough wind- throw chatterbait
No wind- throw something else
Theyre also good in no visibility water

With all due respect comments like this is why this forum is slow. It is a forum. And making people feel stupid for asking a question or wanting to have interactions over said question is the cause for slowness.
Its a forum. Let people ask questions.
Also I forgot to mention that chatter are big bass baits. So if where you are fishing is not heavily populated with big bass you will have a hard time. The vibration it gives off is that of a larger meal. The smallest I have had hit a chatter is about 2.5 lbs.
It becomes very important to know which areas are the best areas in your waters. The hierarchy of bass is that of the biggest get the best spots. The smaller ones are forces out into the less desired areas. I sincerely hope this helps bud.

I didn't think what he said was bad. He's merely saying if you look around you might find even more advice.
Now, there are a few on here who do have that's know-it-all tone that rubs people the wrong way. I just don't think that was his intentions.
Anyhoo, I love the Chatterbait (bladed jig). Since it's come out I find myself using the spinnerbait less than I used to.

That wasn't my intention, far from it. I don't believe I could have added anything to what was previously said other than encouraging him to keep using the bait. I have never, nor would I ever attempt to make anyone look stupid, here or anywhere. Sorry YOU took it like that.
make sure the trailer isn't too long. I do decent with chatterbaits once i find the right trailer for the pond i'm fishing.
FWIW, a couple of weeks ago Jason Christie said on one of his tackle tip Tuesdays that if you aren't getting bites on a vibrating jig it's most likely because you are fishing it too slow.
I didn't have much luck with them until this spring. That was when I experimented with trailers. I'd try a regular fluke and craw style trailers if you aren't getting bit on a boot tail. Try matching and contrasting color trailers with the skirt color.
Do you get bit throwing the keitech on a plane jighead or swimjig?

If I mistook your words I do sincerely apologize. With those being the 1st words spoken in your text it seemed like it was yet again another brush off of a question from another long term member.
If that was not your intent my apologies.
I used a chatterbait for the first time last year. Used three or four of the different types of bladed jigs from a couple manufactures in a couple colors, sizes and weights. All season (May to October) I never got one bite.
This year I was going to give them a try once again before not really giving then another thought if they didn't seem to produce where I fish. Figured I would spend the extra money and get the Jackhammer during a spring sale. One white and one all green pumpkin both in 1/2 once. Also ordered some Hog Farmer Spunk Shads for a trailer in matching colors. First day out this spring, the waters were clear-ish and I used the green pumpkin. Finally got my first two fish with them, but neither were bass. Didn't have much luck again for another few week until about July and the water started to get more cloudy. Then I started mid-July with the white with a white trailer. I have been getting fish every weekend since then! Figured I would try the Booyah Melee in white I had found locally. No luck. Back to the Jackhammer and success yet again! I don't know what it is about the Jackhammer specifically, but I have only had luck with it and I don't think I am going to experiment anymore.

Hmm... 150 - 250 posts per day is slow? At any rate, it's poor form to make comments about worthiness of others' advice or posts. It only starts unnecessary arguments.
At any rate, I use chatterbaits in place of spinnerbaits, when the weed cover is sparse in spring. Once the weeds come up, a spinnerbait gets through the weeds and outperforms a chatterbait.
Thank you everyone for your input I will keep on trying.
It was mentioned that you may try to fish it faster; I'd agree that you should try that.
Chatterbaits are a real hit or miss bait, just like spinnerbaits. Either they seem to be really on em or not at all.
I had quite a few great days on chatterbaits a couple years ago; this year, I've had no success with them, even on days where I was confident they'd work.
It's interesting that some have mentioned that they are big-fish baits. I haven't experienced this. Spinnerbaits have, by far, produced better quality for me.
I’ve caught 3 fish in two seasons with them, and I do give it a shot. For some reason every time I guy a new jackhammer I cast it off that day. No idea why. I haven’t casted off a lure all summer, bought a jackhammer Saturday cast it off Sunday. Unreal.
Around here I would use the chart and white bait. I like to let them sink all the way down to the bottom and then slow roll them back like a spinnerbait.

I agree spinnerbaits have always produced big fish for me as well I caught my PB on one.

If I have offended your position here in the forum I am sorry. And yes that is slow in comparison to many other forums I frequent. There are thousands of responses daily. Questions and topic get talked about non stop. Im not saying this forum is bad mind you I am just saying it is indeed slow.
On the worthiness factor maybe your right. Im not a mod. But when I see people down talk others (which has happened to me frequently) for asking questions it bothers me.
Im not looking for an issue. So Il just keep it to myself from now on.

Well, this forum is a lot more specialized than many others...so less chatting occurs. I've seen forums that get 10-15 posts a day - so this one isn't 'fossilized'.

I think it's more 'boredom factor'. Many of these questions have occurred so often that people just point you to two places - Articles that go into the nuts and bolts, or previous threads that already hashed out most...if not all...the questions. It's not 'downtalking' IMO to point someone to where the question asked has already been answered.

Boredom of long term members.
Thats exactly how forums become slow. People come to a forum to interact with others. Pointing someone to a video in a helpful way makes alot of sense. But trying to make things funky out of boredom is not cool.
There also new people that join daily. Id venture to guess they joined because a decent % of them are new to bass fishing. One persons boredom is another persons brand new.
For those who are brand new they like to be able to interact with those who have more knowledge than them. But mosty get pushed towards videos or just flat out told they are asking rudimentary questions.
You might be right it might be out of boredom but it is still in bad taste.
If people just for a moment stopped and thought back to when they were new to fishing and how hard it actually was maybe they would be more kind.
On the slow thing. Im a member of alot of specialization forums. For example Sherdog. Its a MMA (mixed martial arts) forum. Bass fishing is probably more popular tbh. That forum gets thousands of messages per day.
But you are correct it is not fossilized. Its just not frequented as much. I think that could easily change.

Probably a good plan. This is the most trafficked bass fishing forum in the world. We peak at over a thousand users online every evening. For every person that posts, ten fold are reading.

You can use the report a post link to alert mods to things you think are an issue. Taking it into your own hands is forbidden.

Seems I have offended your place in this forum. That was not my intent. My intent was to open some eyes to why that 10 fold is not interacting on the forum.
As for report a post button. Il use that often im sure
Don't apologize Wizzlebiz, you did good and your heart is in the right place.
When Harold said "I have never, nor would I ever attempt to make anyone look stupid, here or anywhere. Sorry YOU took it like that.", I would take that as offensive. He says he will never make anyone look stupid and then tries to make you look stupid.
And me too! I thought the same thing when I read his post. So I reported him.
We're done here. You're all acting like children, and contributing nothing to the OP's questions. Time to take a step back, it's FISHING. Geez.
