What woud you get with $60 - $100 2025

What lures, line, hooks, or what ever would you get with 60 -100 dollars?

I got to my x-mas mail before my parents did, and I got 60 bucks from my aunt. And I also have a feeling that my parents are intercepting my mail, so i think I have some where between 60 and 100 dollars.

So what kind of tackle would you get?

I like craws, spinner bait, frogs, other top waters, cranks, straight tail worms, jerk baits, and critter baits.

I would like to start using jigs, and bigger worms.

I usually get a new rod and reel if I need one when I get a decent amount of cash. You can pick up a bait here and there all year but you only get so many chances to get a rod or reel.

I make my wife buy me rods and/or reels for B-days and anniversaries, and I buy tackle all year so I'd probably use the money for something I wouldn't usually buy...like swimbaits or higher-priced lures like LC's. Or, if you've got a sizeable collection of rods/reels you might think about a nice rod rack.

terminal tackle locally is what I would burn it on- don't waste $ on shipping with that amount of money- it depends on the person- at your age have fun with it

Just a few suggestions but Id say either save a little more and get a good rod or reel if you need one or you can never have enough good terminal tackle, gammy hooks maybe some Tungsten sinkers, If you like frog fishing may want to get some good braided line, heard good things about Suffix and Power Pro. I stocked up one jerkbaits and fat free shad crankbaits for most of my Christmas tackle

About shipping:

During x-mas my dad usually gets gets me a $50 gift card to BPS, also we go after X-mas every year get get some more stuff, so shipping is a not!

Would look at rod and/or reel depending upon how I was setup. Good reel is the way to go if you do not have one. Otherwise, what do you think you need?

Ok man, here is what you do. Terminal Tackle is OK advice, and so are rods and reels... but, Sounds like you have BAITS on the brain and you have a budget. You must have the rod and reel taken care of for the moment. If you need line, for the time being just get Big Game. Hooks, just get Owner or Gamakatsu. Maybe 3/0 to 4/0 for starters, but it wouldn't hurt to have 5/0 for you Ole Monster big worms. Someone said buy a bunch of colors. IMO a total waste of your budget. Buy Green Pumpkin in any new variety plastic you choose to experiment with. Get some Chartruce dye for tail coloring if you want to play with color for the time being. Get some 5' Sencos. Zoom Z-Nails will work pretty good if you don't want to fork out for Yamamotos right now. Yum Dingers are OK too. Buy a few spinnerbaits. Booya or many others should get it done in chart, white, and/or chart/white. Dbl willow and Colorado. 3/8 should be good all around for starters. Jerk bait... you might consider springing for a LC pointer78 in chart shad. Topwater... you could just get some long casting 1/2oz buzzbaits and/or a pop r, but if you can squeeze a Rico in the budget, you realy owe it to yourself to have a popper that good. I forget what else you were after and can't see it from here, but this stuff will get you bit.

Jigs are pretty cheap being a couple bucks each so you could put $10 or $15 on them and get quite a few and still have money left. I usually get them WITH rattles so I can either leave them on or remove them if I want to use them without them. More economical that way.

Otherwise, if you don't have very many good hooks then I'd get some of those. I like to have at least about 20 of each of the ones I use the most such as 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG hooks. I go through a lot of those with 7" worms or lizards. It's one of those things you sort of overlook buying until you nearly run out. I've done it many times, didn't want to spend a few bucks on them since I already had a few so I would get a new spinnerbait instead, but after you have a day where you snag repeatedly and break off, then you're down to having only 3 or 4 left and your buddy is slaying the fish with the same setup as you, you start to sweat wondering if you'll have enough to last the rest of the day. So now I consider the hooks WAY more important than new baits. If you get the bulk pack that has about 25 in it, you'll save a buck on them and you'll never regret having that many of one kind if you use them a lot like me.

Don't overlook line either if you have last year's line (from this passed summer) still on cause it might be in need of a change. These purchases of line and hooks aren't as fun a lot of times as the new lures are but they're way more important overall, and once you learn to think about it like I do then it'll never seem unimportant again. To me it is as fun as getting a bunch of new lures cause I can relax knowing I'm ready to go fishing with no worries.

And just think, the last time you went fishing you didn't have any of the new lures you're thinking about getting and you probably didn't miss them, but you'll definitely miss not getting new line if you need it or not having enough good hooks for T-rigs, C-rigs, weightless wormin', drop shotting, and a host of other setups. If you really want to get some new lures then check this out. You can make way more lures and do more things, even catch more fish, from a few hooks and a bag of plastics than you can with a single lure costing just as much as them all together. Add some good tungsten sinkers, a few ball head jigs for shakey rigging, maybe some glass 8mm beads for rattling rigs, and you really have a lot of options.

And some of that can be bought for $20 or less, plastics and all. Example - 2 bags of Netbait Paca Craws in 2 colors = $6, 3 bags of Gammy 3/0 EWG hooks = $9, and 2 sacks of 1/4 oz bullet weight lead sinkers = $3, total $18 plus tax, and you have 15 complete T-rigs from all that with a few spare craw bodies to replace the torn up ones with as you fish . That's the cost of about 3 decent lures otherwise. I'll take the T-rigs any day!!

Also, what sort of swimbaits are you looking at?? You better make sure you don't get one that's too heavy for your rod you have now. I'm getting some Sebile Magic Swimmers for Christmas, in the 3/8 oz size. Those will work with most any medium powered rod and not be too heavy to cast with it. They're the smallest size they make it in, the ones that say they're 95mm long. Roughly about 4 inches that is. My local tackle shop has the Castaic swimbaits in the same length but I think they're heavier than that. I didn't look too much at those though so I don't know what weight they are.

I'll be getting the trebles for cranks, and it's just nice to have some around if I get some rusty hooks on something that has trebles.

And thanks for the warning about the swimbaits. I made a post about getting a heavy swim bait and using it on my rod, I found out that it was not a good idea before I got it.

If it was me, in my situation I would spend it on good terminal tackle and plastics. I bought tons of hard bait lures and I hardy ever use them. I go through tons of plastics.

On that list Iwould hold off on the tungsten weights and evolution jigs? Until you are real good with either of these baits you will see no benefit from them other than high dollar bragging rights. Buy some cheap jigs in solid black and whatever soft plastic color you feel confident in with matching trailers. You are going to lose a lot of jigs in the learning process so it is better to have 6 $1 jigs than 1 $6 jig.

I with out a doubt better at Texas rigs, but still not good enough for tungsten, don't wanna lose 'em!

And I have yet to get my first fish on a jig.

That will also save be about $15 over all!! Plenty for some jig trailers or what ever!
