Does anyone know any websites were I can buy gary yamaoto senkos in bulk, I have heard that you can get packs of 5 different colors and more than 20 worms but I can't seem to find any in bulk only in 10 packs.
There are no bulk packs:
I found the post below on another forum concerning this question, it's an answer from someone at Yamamoto baits as to why they dont sell in bulk.
Okay, well I'm someone from Yamamoto and I'd love to answer this question. I manage the Online Store and get a very significant number of requests for bulk deals.
The long answer is that we used to have bulk available. We stopped doing this because we do not have room to keep all of our 3,000-some different styles and colors in stock as 100-count bags. And when we did, the weight of the bags and bait tended to crush the soft bait. Then, nobody ever wants the same color or style as another angler. It seemed that the extra efforts consumed any savings we could reasonably pass on to the angler by making 100-count bags.
Now, dealers and distributors get bulk deals, naturally, by the caselot. (No suprise there, right?) And the baits are still packaged in the normal ziplocks.
Now we love our anglers. You guys asking these questions. But honestly, we're not into making outrageous profits on anyone. I think that our bait is worth the extra cost, and I get that value back in better performance. If you don't think that's true, you should either do a little more research here at the Inside Line, or find another bait to use. Our bait is expensive to make. I know for a fact that I'm not making rock-star wages. (In fact, everyone here is definitely underpaid. *hint hint Gary*)
The real question is, why don't the tackle stores have special deals and quantity sales? We don't because we really don't want to compete with them -- our corporate policy is to actually support those mom-and-pop dealers who have to compete with the X-Marts selling 5,000-count bags of X-bait.
So, to recap. We used to have bulk -- it really didn't work out because of the quantity of products and the delicacy of our bait. We're not trying to rip anyone off -- our bait is expensive to purchase because it's just plain expensive to make -- our prices have NEVER increased and have actually DECREASED in the last 15 years (we're getting cheaper) -- stores get quantity deals and you should talk to your local dealer about getting the deals.
Hope this helps,
-Ryan
Quoteanybody understand what they are trying to say?

Translation:
We are not interested in selling bulk quantities.
Bottom line is that bulk packing cuts into profits, so they don't do it. Not that I see anything wrong with that personally.
Something hit me as being odd in that statement posted above:

So, am I the only person who sees the price I pay for GYCB Senkos go up almost every year? What am I missing here?
Wait how much do you guys pay for a pack of 10 senkos, I pay $6.49
nobody is missing anything this person is just sugarcoating it to stand up for his company.
I found a site that has the senkos in bulk and its the online Gary Yamamoto catalog, check it out
http://media.baits.com/catalog/2007-gycb-catalog.pdf
It clearly says on page 18 that they are selling a pack of 40 senkos, i'm really confused
Whatever IT is, you can get IT on ebay! just make sure they dont say senko "STYLE". You can get them in bulk there.
Not to be confused that is 21-5" and 19-4". Do the math.

That is not a "bulk" pack. That is more of a multi colored kit. A bulk pack would be more like
40 of the same color and size as opposed to 6 of this color and 7 of that color and so on.
In the print catalog that is on page 16 not 18.

Well I just want something with different types of colors and alot of each, I think 40 would be enough. I wouldn't want alot of just one color
BPS sells a kit i forget what the worm is called but its one of those big kit in the boxes type deals.

Oh, so what you are saying is that you would want to have let 's say, 5 in this color, 5 in another color and so on until you fill 40 baits. That 's an easy one, get with a couple of friends and order several colors and split the baits with them.

Prices tend to change over the course of 10 years.
For instance, in 2007, a Slurpee was 39 cents.

X2. I don't buy Senkos from BPS anymore because they've gone from $6.99 to $8.79 (though they're on sale as I type this...)

You mean, back when this thread was started, a decade ago
All I know is that yes, I can catch bass (or other species of fish) on "Senko-type" baits, but not nearly as many, nor as consistently. I only use the original Senko.
Wal-Mart and Academy sell them for under $6.50/pack.

I believe you get less per package at places like Walmart.
If I remember correctly you only get 6-7 Senkos for that price vs 10. The same is true for Roboworms, you only get 8 per pack in the ziploc bags they come in vs 10 in the plain stapled bags elsewhere.
I do purchase the Roboworm packs from Walmart because I prefer the ziploc bags they come in, I just refill them with fresh Roboworms from the 10 packs.
I'm pretty sure that someone told me if you contact Mr. Yamamoto that you can get him to send you a bulk amount of Senko's.
I'm sure the Yamamoto company loves having people buy more and more and more because of the durability issue too.
Whats the record for 10 year old threads pulled up in a day? This is like the 3rd today
While it does bother me to get half way through a thread to see it was started when I weighed 20 lbs less, it is a rookie mistake.....I wish I was 20 lbs lighter too
