I am thinking of trying them out, but they cost a little more then the others. I do not mind paying for quality, but no one I know orders them. I signed up on their site for a free membership to look around, but that's all I am doing so far.
Any input would be thankful.
Thanks,
Butch
I jerkbait I got in my LTB was chipped and seemed almost melted. It was wavy and not good. Not sure if it's the norm or just a one time thing. The crankbait I got was good though. Haven't fished either though so no clue if they catch.
I thought there was a difference between LTB and Fishhound. The prices are different, so I would think what they send would be different.
Thanks for the feedback!
I am sure if you said something to them they would replace it =p.
Just cause it's ugly doesn't mean it won't catch. My thing is that the finish wasn't the best on one out of two. Not worth returning. Some people are particular about the finishes so I figured I would chime in on my experience. These were both fishhound which owns LTB.
ahhh fair enough. I was not being anyway if I came off that way. My buddy is trying MTB next month, but I don't like the whole plastic sampler thing.
I just thought about it, I hope this is a topic I can talk about, I forgot that they don't want you talking about brands sometimes; however, since this is a sponsor I figured I could.
I have not subscribed to their monthly box, but I have tried there crankhound crankbaits and liked the crankhound 1.0, and the NBS 2.0 . I have caught some good fish with them, however I am really new to crankbaits and do not have much to compare them to.
Where did you get the idea you couldn't talk about brands? I seriously do not understand where this is coming from.
Read the rules, you cannot spam the forums or promote yourself or your company. It's that simple.

Probably because the forum prevents certain brand/company names from being posted?
There's just a couple, and those were at the request of those companies or because they decided to spam us.

This is a shame. When you have users who are afraid to discuss specific brands or risk the wrath of the mods then the site is broken. What good is having an all encompassing resource for bass fishing if your users are unable or too scared to discuss the use of a particular product.
I understand that this site is kept alive by sponsors. I would prefer this over ads any day of the week. However, if your sponsors are so sensitive that they complain when the users discuss alternative products then you need a new support model or you will lose visitors. If you really want to provide a resource for bass fishing then your users need to feel free to discuss any topic or brand that they wish as long as it is appropriate and not obscene or disrespectful of other users.
With that said, don't forget to try out the new Z-Man TRD on a their Shroomz jigs.
P.S. I am not bashing the Z-Man TRD or the company. I am sure it is a great bait, I am just tired of hearing about it.
I like the idea of Fishhound, LTB, MTB, and other similar services in theory. However I've learned to just buy what I want instead of buying something because it's a good deal.
I readily admit that I am a fun-hater.

Yeah Z-man is laughing all the way to the bank on that Ned rig hype.

Yeah TW has the zman shroomheadz on backorder until June 8th or something like that, however with that being said. If its cool, its cool!! Its obviously working for a lot of people.
I completely get where the op is coming from. I've seen way too many good threads get blasted for, in my opinion, no good reason at all. Especially in regards to people speaking about issues with a product/company. I personally have had 2 horrible experiences with a loooong time site sponsor, but know if I even mentioned some of what happened, and suggested another option, the thread would get shut down.
It must be a huge conspiracy. The time threads get edited or locked is when you all fight like children. Sponsors generally respond in person to any member concerns, but just like spam, the minute s member uses this place as an outlet for a grudge, then they're gone, per the rules that were agreed to when you created your account.
As far as being afraid to post, that carp is in your heads. We mods are just guys interested in fishing like the rest of you.
Guys, it's extremely simple - no spamming. We've had to censor a few brands because they just wouldn't stop spamming us, despite repeated requests to stop.
Also - got a gripe about a company, take it up with them. Don't take your fight here.
Done.
Nothing more devious than that.
Quit trying to make it into something more than that.
whoa, I did not mean to start something. I am new here and read about posting some brands and such. I just wanted to make sure I was not doing anything against the rules as I have come to lurk on here and post when I can the past few days. The video selection is great. I am going to try drop rig for the first time tomorrow. I just did not want to mess up anything is all.
I was a fan of the company untill I started getting packs of Saltwater Soft Plastics, would they work in freshwater, probally, but they were still Mr Wiffle Soft plastics made for redfish.
Don't they survey what you fish for?On 5/23/2015 at 9:25 AM, Brayberry said:I was a fan of the company untill I started getting packs of Saltwater Soft Plastics, would they work in freshwater, probally, but they were still Mr Wiffle Soft plastics made for redfish.

I was always under the impression it was all Bass lures, with MAYBE a occasionally crappie type thing, but I never woulda guessed a Saltwater bait.

My impression of FishHound? It's confusing and overly complicated.....for me. I don't have the time or patience to try to understand the points and all that. I have signed up for their free membership and I DID receive an awesome Livetarget frog from them so I can't complain. Would I encourage you to stay away? Absolutely not. They seem very legit and their site is great and very informative. I just don't have the energy to try to understand their way of doing business. Like someone else said, I like the IDEA of it...I just want to buy what I want and need at the lowest price I can without hassle.

I did, indeed. I was very impressed and grateful for that. I'm NOT slagging on the company in my above post. Everything I can see tells me that they are a great company. I just don't care for the business model..and that's ok. Not everything is for everybody. I have no doubt that you would find others that think my opinion about it to be idiotic and to them....it is
That's good, honest feedback.

I thought mods were robots keeping us from arguing amongst ourselves.

Lol I got the same thing. I threw out that crawfish 5 minutes after fishing it, as the crawfish just couldn't maintain a controlled fall. But on the other hand, I received a really nice rapala DT-6 and Livetarget Frog from Lucky Tackle Box...
