Which Berkley Soft Plastic 2025

fishing user avatarlivemusic reply :

I love Zoom flukes. But I want to try a Berkley because it has Powerbait. What jerk bait is most like a Zoom fluke in action?

What is your favorite Berkley soft plastic?

fishing user avatarFishTank reply :

I never have been sold on the Powerbait from Berkley.  The Zoom Fluke has always worked for me.

fishing user avatarDCales84 reply :

You could also buy a bottle of the powerbait scent and add it to the flukes you already have. The havoc line of baits from berkley are all good baits but I don't think any of them have the powerbait scent added to them. I have not tried the havoc jerk bait as of yet but the pit boss, rocket craw, and craw fatty are great baits at a very good price point esp. when rebates are offered.

Berkley Havoc The Jerk is my favorite soft plastic jerkbait.

fishing user avatarHurricane reply :

Berkeley havoc pit boss..

fishing user avatarSenko lover reply :

I really like Havoc baits. Haven't tried the jerk tho.  They are all fantastic baits for 3 bucks, and often you can get them for less.

fishing user avatardead end canal reply :

Z Man has a fluke-type bait scented with ProCure.

I like the Berkley Havoc Ike's Devil Spear rigged horizontally on a jig spinner.

fishing user avatarFelix77 reply :

Strike King Caffeine Shad

fishing user avatarJoePhish reply :

10 inch Power Worm and the 3 inch Chigger Craw are my favorite Berkley baits. I still slather them in Megastrike even though they have a stank of their own.

My Zoom Flukes get the same treatment.

fishing user avatarHoosierHawgs reply :

I like the Berkley stuff, Gulp, Powerbait are really good stuff.. But can get expensive. I've really come to like Big Bite Baits. Good scent, soft, supple plastic, and great price point. Try their soft jerkbait and buy it in the Pro Pack size for extra savings.

fishing user avatardrew4779 reply :

Crazy legs chigger craw. One of my favorites.

It's not a soft jerkbait but my favorite Berkley soft plastic is their seven inch power worms.  I try other worms with ribbon tails and nothing matches those Berkley powerbait worms.  It's part of my top three lures - Yum-Dingers, lizard, and Berkley Powerbait Power seven inch worms.

fishing user avatarOntarioFishingGuy reply :

The Powerbait Jerk Shad is a great soft plastic jerkbait. The only issue I have had with it is the paint used to color the back peeling off, but it hasn't made any noticeable difference in catching fish. I find they work best rigged on a belly-weighted hook. I think they are a part of the saltwater series, but I'm not sure. Regardless, they catch lots of bass.

fishing user avatar*Hank reply :

PIT-BOSS.

fishing user avatarrosshilk reply :

Havoc Pit Boss is a heck of a bait

fishing user avatarhatrix reply :

I guess mine is the big ripple shads since it's the only Berkeley plastics I really buy. My step father only fishes 7" electric grape power worms. Literally he only fishes those.

fishing user avatarCWB reply :

If you use senko type baits, try the Flat Dawg. Best action on the fall you will see. Two problems though. Very light and a one fish bait. But the Havoc line are all $2.99 so just buy a bunch. The Craw Fatty and Hawk Hawg are pretty good baits. Haven't used Chigger Craws in a while but they will get you bit too.

fishing user avatariceintheveins reply :

I use berkley plastics a lot, especially pit bosses, which IMO are the best creature bait out there. I still love power worms though, but they aren't my go to worm. I spritz up my havoc baits with a couple sprays of BANG craw/shad combo in the bags.

I'm looking at trying some back slides and flat dawgs as well.

fishing user avatarannexation reply :

I'll join the Pit Boss express. Choo choo! I never leave home without them, no matter the conditions.

fishing user avatarCgrinder reply :

Don't buy green pumpkin Power Worms, and whatever you do, don't dip the tails in chartreuse JJ's Magic. Think of the children.

fishing user avatardead end canal reply :

Has anyone tried the Havoc Money Maker?

Yes, it's a lot smaller than I'd hoped. I was thinking something the size of a stick worm with large, bulbous ends that would create lots of action on a wacky rig. What I got is the size of a finesse worm with little nubs on each end with really no extra action that I can see and too light to fish without a weighted jighead on a wacky rig. I've caught some fish with them on a drop shot, but I'm pretty bad at dropshotting so that's really not saying much for them.

fishing user avatarblongfishing reply :

Agreed on the Berkely Havoc the jerk. They are great and have great action.

fishing user avatardead end canal reply :

Thank you, Bluebasser86. That's a shame; they looked so good when I saw one on a short youtube vid.

fishing user avatarJon G reply :

Pit Boss, Craw Fatty, Chigger Craw, and Back Slide are the only baits I use from Berkely

fishing user avatarwisconsin heat reply :

The Yum Houdini shad is the best fluke style lure hands down. The flat tail flaps back and forth when the lure sinks and it is absolutely DEADLY.

As far as my favorite Berkley plastic - that would have to be the twitch tail minnow. All around awesome dropshot lure, the tail is always moving and the colors they offer in that shape are just my style.
