NEW Bagley Sunny b crankbaits 2025

I just purchased 3 of the shallow Bagley Sunny B's on clearance at A****** and I cannot find much information on them. I have lots of older Bagley's Baits from the '80's but I see very little information on these new baits from fishermen. They are new (hit the open retail market in 2015) and they are made in Serbia with a member of the Rapala family on board as an adviser and part owner of the resurrected company. My specific questions are: 1) are the durable? I read some complaints about the new larger Kill'R B's splitting on the finish. AND 2) Do these bad boys catch fish with any consistency?

They are midway between a balsa shad rap and a DT4 in thickness. They run about 3 foot I believe. There is a deep diver too but they were sold out of those. A YouTube video show the construction process and they look pretty sturdy with a through-wire design for hangers and eyelet. I will give a report after I fish them this week. They come with VMC Hooks too.

Nice looking baits. I'd probably try them even though I've never had much luck with Bagley's.

I'm a Bagley fan and I use the deeper running Sunny B cranks with a lot of success. The deeper version will run about 6' on 12lb line and I use them in clearer water instead of a DT-6. They work as well as the DT-6 and even in cooler water like the DT-6, and while I haven't used the shallow version I can tell you that smallmouth seem to be favoring the Sunny B action over the DT-6. Another new bait from Bagley that you may want to try is the Rattlin' Killer B, it is a square bill but it is plastic instead of balsa, the thing that I like about them is they seem to have the same fast floatation of balsa so they deflect fantastic, last summer there was 2 square bills that out produced every other for me, the Mann's baby X and the Bagley Rattlin' Killer B, the killer B did better with size as the larger fish seem to really like it. So give that bait a chance, as I said before, I don't have the shallow version but I can't imagine it would be much different, and if that is the case it should produce very well, especially within the next few weeks.

I love the Bagley Bang O lure.....I know that Bagley's has undergone changes where the baits are different which is why you see guys paying $100 Plus for older versions.
I have heard good things about all the Bagleys Crank baits. I think they break if you smack them on the water like most crankbaits that are balsa or that shape. Bills break on Rapala's as well.
I think those look like Bagley Color's and Strike King Copied them. Just my take.

Thanks for the info on the deep Sunny b's, Smalljaw67. I Caught a real nice smallie on a green craw DT6 back in March. I will check the Rogers Arkansas A****** store to see if they have any deep runners left. I love the bluegill color scheme. The Rapala bluegill is good but just a little too green. This Bagley one looks just about right for the bluegills around here. Primetime, I probably have a fortune in older Bagley baits, but I am not ready to unload them yet. The only older ones I have used in the last 5 years is the "Bagley Small Fry bass". I caught a 5 pounder on that lure once. It's an awesome slow retrieve crank. Thanks again for the insights!

I am not sure which models or years are the one's that sell for high Dollar Amounts similar to the Pre-Rapala Sub Warts. I think the Hellcat sells for roughly $25? and if you have any of the balsa cranks or Bang O lures, Shad a lacs, most have the orange/White packaging I think. I know they were Located in Ft. Myers Fl. and then went out of business for a period of time, but I have found several lures at Garage sales etc. and I didn't have the packaging, but they were in decent shape, and I sold a Hellcat (Deep Diver,Odd shape), Mighty Minnow Catfish color, & one of the small Fry Sunfish I guess, I ended up putting all 3 with 2 Old Rapala Ristro Raps and final bid ended up being over $80.
People love the Old wooden made in America Balsa bagley's, especially the model that was used to win a classic which I believe was in the 70's but it is the shallow balsa B? I think they have a collector page like Bomber has etc....
I would check advanced on Ebay, type in lure model, hit sold, then search by highest price to see when and how much they sold for, also what made then "Vintage". You can contact that person if you want, but when I find vintage tackle, I simply List it for the highest price I can find, then leave a best Offer Button and I make sure I take good pics etc.
If you are not going to use them it is a great way to make extra money and it only takes a few minutes. Then you can turn around and spend all your earnings on some newer stuff that probably will not catch as many fish, but sure does look pretty.
Hope that Helps. You never know what will sell on Ebay, The key is listing them under a collectible or vintage categories to attract the right buyers, apparently collecting lures is kind of a big deal if you have some color, size, or even just a lure that was only made for a few months.

I got a chance to get out and fish the Bagley Sunny B 05 this past week. I only casted it about 10 times because we were in a rocky stream and I am uneasy fishing balsa baits around rocks. They break easily. However, I got a good look at the action, and while I cannot speak for any bass, I liked the way it looked in the clear water. I need to get it out on a reservoir to tap into the fall crankbait bite with it. I will report back after I do. BY THE WAY, I have been killing the smallmouths with a crawdad colored Cordell Big O! A cheap $1.97 (literally) bargain bin W****** bait with upgraded trebles (gammys). I own Lucky Crafts, SK cranks, Excaliburs, H2o's, Luck-E-Strikes, Fat Frees, Bombers, tons of Rapalas, etc., but this cheapo is nailing those bass. I went back and bought several different colors. I tried a shad color too, but the bite slowed so I went back to the brown one and wham! The game was back on.

Cotton Cordell Big-O's and Bomber Model A's are killer on the rivers I fish for smallmouth, if the fish are hitting craws, those two cranks will out fish more expensive baits. The key to it is the forage the fish are on, but the Big-O and Model A are some of the best craw imitating cranks ever made.

The model a and wiggle wart are my favorites, I haven't done a whole lot with the big o, but to be fair I haven't tried it a lot so I'm going to have to try it again. The balsa baits work fine for me in rocks, as long as I'm bumping and stopping the bait into them on the retrieve. I have had them break by hitting stuff on the cast, but I've only broke one or two I can remember on the retrieve and then I was digging it in the bottom really hard and also there's no telling how many fish I had caught on those baits before, or how many times I had fished them before. Sometimes the balsa baits like bagleys are the only way to trigger the fish

Nice-looking, Old-school Bagley's there, Team9nine! You have at least 2 colors I don't have. Good collection. I rarely use my old Divin' Killer B's anymore. I might need to take them out and get a few of them wet.

That is an awesome collection. I love the color on the bottom left, kind of a chartreuse baby bass....I forget the exact color but someone went start to finish at a Bass Master Classic not that long ago on a chart/black? shallow Bagley Vintage series like the one's you have. I notice a difference with the older Bagley's lures-the Bang O lure in true balsa is almost a different lure, and the same with the small fry series. I like the older one's they used to make a model called the Top gun which was a slender minnow style wake bait shaped like a Rapala but only dove 6-12". I still have 2 left I am afraid to lose, they are not expensive but hard to find. Bagley's used to make lure in Fort Myers Florida, then went out of business and changed ownership several times for odd reasons, but they have made some lures that were only on the market for a year or 2 that were really good but never had the advertising behind them.....
Nice looking lures. I have a few friends that would kill to have that box of crankbaits. They love the old Bagley's cranks, and will pay $25 at times for rusty models from Ebay and then re-paint them....You pretty much have a box of Pre Rapala Wiggle warts from what I understand.

That was the first one I commented on myself....Isn't that funny, my eyes went right to that pattern, I make skirts for swim jigs to match several Bagleys colors....That is one of them.

Ive noticed a lot of the lures you use are ones I like too . Some of them are not that popular .

That would make a good spinnerbait skirt too .I'll have to try to find the right material . I still make the Living rubber skirts but only have six colors ..

"Baby Bass on Chartreuse" - Bagley also made a "Baby Bass on White." I've always loved chartreuse baby bass colored crankbaits. Bomber also made great Chrt BB crankbaits, both in the Model A (chartreuse belly) and the Fat A series (chartreuse sides).

I bought that one after finding an article with Rick Clunn holding a nice spotted bass up and that bait (color) clearly visible in its mouth

These aren't collectors items for me - they're tools. All have been hand tuned and I fish with them. The fish could care less whether they're all tossed in a box or not 
saves a lot of space that way. I have paid, on average, around $20 to $25 each for these over the years, so that $1500 for all of them wouldn't be too far off.....but I figured you were just kidding about buying them.
