I've made an incredible fishing discovery in my search for the next big thing. It's called a scale and it will weigh your fish for you! You might want to start saving up now, because it will cost you a whopping $6.49. It's small enough to fit in your tackle box, it doesn't need batteries, and it even comes with a tape measure!
Maybe you think you don't need a scale. After all, why weigh a fish when you can ask your buddies at BassResouce to make a guess? Because, surprisingly, some people get offended when we don't guess high enough.
Shocking, huh?
Up next on Incredible Fishing Discoveries' is a device that will capture the image of your fish with the click of a button!
Wooooooooooow! ;D
HINT, HINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And for the real cheap people like me, you can get the same thing without the fancy yellow logo for $4.96 at Wal-mart!
Wow; you mean men sometimes think something of theirs is bigger than it actually is?!!! GET OUT OF TOWN! :
Of course the flip side of that is that when it comes to someone else's 'something' it's usually thought of as smaller than it actually is.
No sense having a scale that's not accurate.

trash that BPS spring scale junk and get yourself a nice berkley digital scale. mine is acurate within an ounce.
go digi ... ^^^ i agree ^^^ have a berkley love it
I was thinking of starting a topic with a very similar title... I discovered a new cool lure that I think will catch on. Have you all heard about the senko?
Great post! Very funny, and so true.
I'd be darn wary of the $6.49 price though, because the next big discovery will be a GOOD scale. And even these need re-calibrating every now and then.
Lol, Great post. Who knew there was such a device.
i used to use a scale, but i think it was cheating on me
When I weighted fish on my scale they started weighing a pound under what i think they should have weighed. And when i weighed my friend's fish, they always seemed to way a pound more then i think they should have
Get one of the lip grips. They work great for weighing fish and when you fish around big stripers, catfish, and drum you have to have them.
Wow I have never caught fish, I get bites but they just spit it are'nt you supposed to use a hook or something? Maybe once I start catching I will use a scale.

Great post.
I thought the same thing. Thus I purchased a Berkley Lip Grip with digital scale. Hopefully I'll get to test it out on some bass tomorrow.
Ya well had a friend try this and it works by a spring. Well the spring was way off....go figure :-? its a spring!
Glenn, hey Glenn! THE SECRETS OUT. Delete the thread, I repeat "DELETE THE THREAD!!!"
I use the very same scale for many other purposes also. I test to see how high my drag is set. Just tie and pull. I also use it to test my trigger breaks on my rifles and handguns. My wife uses it also to weigh food for recipies! It has as many uses as duct tape and wd40!
Vic

Respectfully I call BS on that sir. NOTHING has as many uses as duct tape.................NOTHING.
Duct tape can be used in beauty pagents (to hold stuff in place), home repair, car repair, medical emergencies for rednecks like me, dating, etc...... Duct tape > fishing scale.

Hey how much is the berkley's? How good is the one from Walmart?
for 20 bucks you can get a digi go with the digi
Just remember being digital DOESN'T necessarily make it more accurate. A (cheap) digital and a (cheap) spring scale both have the ability to be way off. Weigh your scale with known weights to verify it. A gallon of water is a pretty good starting point. Depending on a few variables, a true gallon of water weighs about 8.3 pounds. if your scale is lbs/ounces, that's roughly 8/5

Excellent advice.
Or...weigh free weights in a plastic grocery bag.
