Alright so I'm thinkin about addin some spinner baits to my arsenal. I know there are tons of types and many different brands so I'm confused as you can tell. I need some insight on some good brands and what type of blades, colors, how many blades, etc. Thanks in advance!

You're in Florida. I'd start out asking this question in mom & pop tackle stores in your neighborhood. Bring money & be prepared to buy what they suggest, the first time anyway. Option B - look around and see what kind of spinner baits the other guys in your neighborhood are using. You can try asking around in the various chains that might be in your neighborhood - BPS, Dicks, etc. My experience is that the advice you'll get from these outlets is questionable at best.
The best you can hope for is that they've talked to some other customer who has given them good advice and they're repeating it.
As far as brands go, I like Terminators because they consistently run straight. War Eagles are very well made and come in a wide variety of colors. The ones I use most are locally made ones that aren't available outside the KC metro area, and really, they aren't readily available in the KC Metro area. These days, I throw half ounce ones 99% of the time. The jig/spinner bait advertiser on this site has an excellent web site. You might try calling him up and getting his opinion.
Back when I was learning spinnerbaits ( mid to late 80's) I had very little success with them untilI committed to throwing a 3/8 oz round head short arm spinnerbait with a smallish colorado blade and a pork frog trailer. That's a bait you can do it all with, i.e. bulge sub-surface, slow roll the bottom, fish on the drops next to stumps, what have you. Back when I was learning, my #1 technique was throwing over logs & brush, i.e. throw over the log/ brush, bring it up to the object, pull it through/over the object and immediately let it drop. Hits happen on the drop. Good luck. There are lots of videos out there about fishing spinner baits, you'll probably want to watch some.

I would look at Seibert's Spinnerbaits. Site sponsor, and also his SB's can be custom designed and they are built tough with an attractive price point, and multiple color variations. I just received mine yesterday and I can't wait to get them on the water. I also have some T-1's that are there way.

I have a few that were given to me from the Advantage Bait Company that are really nice. They are expensive though.

V&M Cyclone Classic and War Eagle are the best spinnerbaits I've used. Booyah makes decent ones as well.

Stanley's catch fish but are not durable. The blades are always flying off. I switched to venom hidden heads and love them. I just bought some pepper spinners but have only thrown them on one trip...so far so good.

Would have to completely agree with Fishes in Trees. Terminator brand with the Titanium wire is great along with War Eagle brand. Sometimes there are other brands depending on your budget that you can use. Honestly, I have caught bass on $14 spinnerbaits and $1 spinnerbaits from Walmart. The fish don't care how much the lure costs you, it depends on if they are in the mood for what you are throwing at that time and what it looks like to them!
Otherwise, to answer your question about skirts, colors ,etc.
Colors: White, White with Chartreuse, and Sexy Shad unless you fish at night then use Black
Weight: 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 oz with 3/8 and 1/2 being the most utilized unless you want to fish deep fast then 1 oz is better.
Brands: War Eagle, Strike King, Booyah, Terminator, and Death Shimmer
Blades: Clear Water use double willow or tandem willow and Colorado. For dirty water use Indiana and Colorado blades
For muddy water that looks like chocolate milk, use black spinnerbait with Colorado blades just like you would at night.
Modifications to Consider:
1. Add a little chartreuse to the tips of a white spinnerbait skirt (Not to the only white spinnerbait you have though)
2. Add a little scent (in the stick form) such as garlic or anise to the back of the top blade.

I've got Stanley spinner baits that are 10-12 yrs old & have caught dozens of bass on em.

I like the Terminator's because they don't get bent out of shape. I also like the R2S Ish Bling spinnerbaits as well. I've also heard lots of good things about War Eagle's stuff as well.

How are you losing the blades? The ones I have are cross locked.
Terminators are the blade throwers.

Check out Reeb's Lures Bolt Throwers. They're made for saltwater so the smallest size is 1/2 oz, but they're built like tanks. The line tie is my favorite feature, where it's a closed design so the line stays put at the eye.

I can't answer how or why but I have 6 of them without the large blades. I'll bring the fish in and the blade is gone. They last as long as a senko for me. They do catch fish though.

The general guideline I use is
Clear water = double willows
Stained = willow/Colorado
Dirty = double Colorado or Colorado/Indiana

My favorites are Terminator and War Eagle. I do have some older Strike Kings that I still throw from time to time. I prefer the 3/8 oz. double willow blade for most applications. White, white/chart, white/chart/blue are my top colors. War Eagle has a color that I found to work really well for me. Gold double willow blades in the Sun Perch color. That color outfished all of the others last season.
