I was wondering how much the guys who fish almost everyday spend on soft plastcs, cranks, etc.... In a given week or month?
Hard to tell. I usually stock up heavily once a year. I'll restock a few times throughout the year. I probably spent around 500-700 bucks this year on lures alone. 700 / 12 = 58.3. So somewhere around there, give or take a few bucks. I fish daily though. Most of my money this year has been spent on jigs and plastics. Toss in a handful of cranks as well.
Jigs and plastics are also my biggest expense. Add hooks, weights, line, the occasional chatterbait and crank, etc... :-/ I refuse to examine cost too closely-I really don't want to know. :-?
After the initial shopping spree in late winter when I spend maybe a hundred or two on lures thats about it for the season. Maybe fifty dollars here and there on restocking soft plastics or a new lure.
Depends on who your asking. My wife would say WAY to much, I say not nearly enough.............we meet in the middle, and I stay married
i buy when i start to run low on baits. i fish mostly plastics so my purchases are usually hooks , weights , line and plastics. unless i find some deals in the clearance bins , then ill murder those things.
this year , ive spent less than $100...i think...so far.
I buy whenever I see something I like, I am a sucker for new baits especially soft baits. Some months just a few bucks some a hundred or so.
Millions or so it seems.

Wives/girlfriends use the internet too. Just a little joke .

I like that and it sounds like the agreement we have.
Later,
I buy when I NEED something. I will buy just one pack of plastics at a time. This year on baits alone I have spent maybe $100, probably less. I guess you could say I don't "stock up". For example, in my box right now is two packs rage craws, one pack anacondas, one pack power worms, one pack senkos(only three left), one pack trick worms(three left), one pack baby rage craws, and one pack paca craws. A dozen or so jigs, maybe eight cranks, a few topwaters and spinnerbaits and thats it. Same goes for line, when I need it, I go get it.
Asking a fisherman how much he spends on tackle, rods and reels is like asking a woman how much she weighs or how old she is. You just DON"T ask those sort of things.
I usually stock up after my birthday, around end of February. Doesn't matter if im low on lures or not, i stock up lol. Throughout the season though, ill pick up a few things here and a few things there. I also usually buy one new rod a year.
Way too much! Im a 17 year old kid who works a bunch of hours and really only buys gas, food, and fishing stuff. I'm also a sucker for a "good" deal.
Lately it hasn't been much at all because I have been saving up to get some newer and much better rods and reels. This year I have probably only spent around $200.00 on new lures
I get a fishing allowance of 3 lures per week from Wally world instead of money. Lol
not much. i toss cranks 70% of the time so the only money i spend is when a fluke accident happens and i lose a crank or terminal tackle and worms.
im 98.3431% sure ive not spent over $100 on tackle this season.
way way too much, when *** knows who you are before you even say you name just from you number you know its too much. oh yeah and bass pro they have a check out line reserved for me..... or so it seems.
Today when Academy put there stuff on 50 percent off and then 50 percent off that, lets just say i "stocked" up. Rage tail baby craws for 1.44 a pack. Clackin raps for 2 dollars. Xrap shads for 1.50. Just to name a few.
I just spent $80 this week on frogs, jigs, line. Prior to this week maybe $50 since April.

I'm Just trying to gauge how much of a problem I have. ;D
I don't keep track, seriously, it would only make me sick.
I fish every day 12 months of the year and I do not buy all that much. I do not lose too many freshwater water lures and bags of flukes and hooks are fairly cheap. Saltwater is another story, always losing something but I manly use spoons, jigs and soft baits which are reasonably priced.
Well I spent 110 on a revo s and all star select rod, but for lures I only really buy soft plastics and the occasional topwater, jig or frog. I just spent 40 on about 50ish trick sticks, 10 duper flukes, 25 baby bush bugs from ***. Great deal for all of that. Just the other day I got a spro frog, and immediately lost it on a log I was raging, so I bought another so I spent 20 on one spro basically : (
I also lost a scumfrog bigfoot and a popper but I can get those back I just haven't waded in yet

Add $19 to this just bought a scale today.

I'm stealing that quote.... ;D
There used to be a time when I calculated how much I spent, nowdays I don 't care, I may go weeks without purchasing anything and then all hell breaks loose.

Exactly!
between lures , soft plastics , swimbaits , line , and terminal tackle , i probably spend about $500.00 a year . if i am purchasing reels or having rods made , double that (or more) ;D
I get to BPS about once a month and it's usually a $30 to $40 trip. I'll go once or twice a year and get my big stock up (usually after winter) who knows how much those trips cost (anywhere from $200-$300).
That's just BPS, I order some things online about every 2 weeks (usually small purchases though). Not counting in shipping, probably another $10 to $20. Also, my wife knows not to take me to Wal Mart because I will ALWAYS buy at least 1 fishing item while there...
Rough total estimate = $600 a year

Really? FREAK...... ;D
WOW!! I didn't realize how much I spend until you made me add it up... >. I spent $560 in January at BPS, $390 in May @ TW, and probably another $400 @ my local tackle shop. Thats not counting my 20' Nitro w/200hp Mariner I bought last month for $5,000 and the repairs to it. $250 for a new water pump and gear lube...$260 to rewire the computer chip and oil sensor!!
So all in all...IM BROKE!!!
P.S.: I still want an HDS-5 Nautics...80 Minn Kota TM...4 new tires for my trailer...a hot foot...a spinning rod and reel...the list NEVER ENDS
