Favorite Place To Buy Tackle? 2025

fishing user avatarjoeyfishes reply :

What are you alls favorite places to buy tackle? I called Academy and they said they have a very limited supply of lures. I called Walmart and they said they only have night crawlers. Does Walmart have a good selection of good tackle such as North Star and Booyah etc.? Thanks

fishing user avatarB@ssCrzy reply :

Anymore I buy the majority of my stuff on-line.  Much better selection and no tax.  Mostly wait till I have an order of $50 or more so I can get free shipping.  Tackle Warehouse is my favorite.

fishing user avatarFishes in trees reply :

Rogers Lures in Liberty, MO.  It is a fairly large independent fishing tackle store.  I shop lots of different places, I can't drive past a fishing tackle store or a place that might sell fishing tackle and not stop and see what they have.  This includes all pawn shops.  Rogers in Liberty is my favorite.

fishing user avatarJCiurej34 reply :

Tackle Warehouse when I am buying online and Bass Pro Shops if I am not buying online.

fishing user avatarww2farmer reply :

I use several places, I try to buy as much as I can online from places with some form of free shipping, and that do not have NYS stores to save on sales tax. Tackle warehouse is probably #1 for me, followed by L.B.F. Locally Wal-Mart, Dicks, and Gander Mtn.

fishing user avatarJKarbo214 reply :

Tackle Warehouse.  It has ALMOST everything you'll ever need...

fishing user avatarS Hovanec reply :

L.B.F., T.W., Susquehanna Tackle and Monster Fishing Tackle get my business. They all offer free shipping on orders over $50 or $75.

fishing user avatarHooked_On_Bass reply :

Its split between local shops and Tackle Warehouse.

fishing user avatarJigMe reply :

Not in any particular order

1. tackle warehouse: everything except for Jig and soft plastics

2. northstar: Jigs

3. walmart: softplastics(wait until sale and load up for the season). I can get senko, zoom, Yum, sometime ragecraw, etc.

fishing user avatarMCS reply :

Online for most everything but if you find a local shop they may carry a local bait companies lures.

Online I go with Gandermountain because they are free shipping no matter what, and another website L.B.F. because they have very good sales all the time, most everything I want and some colors that Tackle warehouse doesn't have. Locally StrikeZone is almost as good as it gets. They carry gambler and bitters.

fishing user avatarBrettD reply :

1. Tackle trap

2. Tackle warehouse

3. Local tackleshop

Tackle Warehouse, Bass Pro, Dicks Sporting Goods

fishing user avatarccummins reply :

I'm lucky to have two Bass Pro Shops in the area; one a few minutes from my home in Miami and the other, larger one in Dania Beach only a few minutes from the office.  One thing I don't like about the online shops is the shipping cost.  I recommend checking out fishhound.com.

fishing user avatarFishing Rhino reply :

Tackle Warehouse. Their service is excellent. As someone else has posted, 50 dollars or more shipping is free. Go on their site once a week. They have 20% off from time to time. That's when to stock up. BPS, when they have a good sale. Have just about anything you could need from boating equipment, trailer parts, electronics, clothing, and last but not least, their fishing department.

fishing user avatarBassThumb reply :

If you're looking for Northstar jigs, buy them directly from their website.

Otherwise, 90% of my tackle/rods/reels come from either Tackle Warehouse or Bass Tackle Depot. They both offer excellent sales at various times of the year. They also offer free shipping year round on relatively small orders or $50 or more.  Not to mention, I don't have to pay sales tax because they are out-of-state companies.

Occasionally, I'll buy a used rod from an online flea market, but usually I wait until TW or BTD have a 15-20% off sale to buy rods.

fishing user avatarNick49 reply :

Tackle Warehouse.  I get my fishing line, Power Pro braided and Trilene mono, at Wally World.

fishing user avatarDarren. reply :

BPS, Dick's, Tackle Warehouse, Hi's Tacklebox Shop, others.

fishing user avatarBrayberry reply :

Bass Pro Shop, Dicks, Walmart

fishing user avatarBlues19 reply :

The closest store other than walmart for me is Bass Pro, with the Bass Pro Outlet right next door. Boy have I ever cleaned up at the Bass Pro outlet over the years. I really enjoy going to small tackle shops though. Its fun to see smaller local brand things and getting things you cant get anywhere. As for Walmart, my fishing partner found about 15 packs of the good Pro Model Spot Removers for $1.00 each a few years ago. You can find some awesome deals there. Anyway, people will post about good deals on here too, which is always awesome

fishing user avatarcadman reply :

Tackle Warehouse, Bass pro

fishing user avatarBk4 reply :

Local store fishermanware house and dicks sporting good.

fishing user avatarPrimus reply :

I believe in buying local first as I feel it's important to put money into the community and support business that's adds to the local tax revenue. I will go online for baits that the local shops don't carry and for that my first choice is usually Tackle Warehouse.
