What sunglass lens color do you all prefer when fishing? Also I have been tearing thru sunglasses on the water fishing.. the lens finish will stain or run off whichever is happening from water splashing cruising on boat.
Polarized dark gray 80% of the time bright sun and dark Amber 20% when sight fishing.
Use micro glass cleaning cloth and clear wipes in lieu of your clothing to clean the lens.

Amber 100% of the time ????
Bright sunlight- Dark grey with blue coating
Overcast/Cloudy- Amber with green coating
I lost my right eye from feeder vessels leaking through the macula 20 years ago and my eye surgeon to me to wear brown, or amber lenses over my good eye. I picked amber as a good all around color for me.
Blue mirror in the brightest of conditions and grey in every thing else.

Copper or brown for me. I fish lots of lakes with submerged timber and they help me see it best.

*Good information Tom - I'm getting new prescription glasses soon and want a 2nd pair of polarized prescription sunglasses . I thought dark grey would be best over all (if I can only choose one color) .
Costa's Green Mirror most of the time, or Sunrise Silver in low light.
Tried the Smiths Chromapop in grey and they were fine, but I could see a lot more with the GM.
Blue Mirror for bright daytime light and a pair of polychromatic/transition lens (sort of pink) for everything else.
Grey a majority of the time but also wear blue mirror or amber at times.
Amber. I'm not spending big money on a 2nd unnecessary pair of glasses. Actually, I'm not spending big money on one pair. I use Calcuttas.
I use clip-ons over my ANSI certified, tri-focal, prescription glasses - mostly dark gray or amber depending on light conditions, but occasionally the brown.

I prefer the same colors per conditions that @A-Jay mentioned. The only problem is the mirror has smeared off of every pair ive ever had so now i just wear the gray ones all the time. They are good all around
I've always read and been told that blue mirror was mostly designed for deep sea fishing, ocean environments, and most fresh water would be best with brown or green mirror. I think that is what Costas large display in my favorite LGS and fishing store says. I tend to use brown polarized lenses most often myself haven't had a chance to go offshore in a few years now.

Rose - Oakley G30 Polarized. Getting hard to find.
Costa advises the use of blue mirror for inshore saltwater fishing and the green mirror for freshwater fishing. I don't have either one so I can't comment on which one is better, but I intend to buy a pair soon and I will go with what they advise: green mirror for freshwater.
Agree with grey for everyday wear. Copper for sight fishing.
^^^Amber is also a good choice, as stated above. Works well in low light conditions.
Amber. But green is good, too. The old glass green ray ban p was great. But I’ve been stuck on amber for the last 5 or so years. Doubt I’ll ever go green or grey again.
Copper (Costa green mirror)

+1 on the amber Eye doctor told me it lets your eyes relax better, so no headaches
Grey/Smoke all around. Amber/Green for low light and sight fishing.

Never had a ophthalmologist suggest gray lens.
Amber gives the highest color contrast in all conditions
Switched out to Amber .. been so long forgot how much of a difference that color makes.. certain parts of lake could definitely see where not to fish and other parts how to fish it better.
