What is your tackle box that you use? Looking at getting something that can hold a little more. I seen this at Walmart. It’s $40.
https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-extreme-qualifier-360-backpack-or-system
here’s what I use. I have no complaints with it, it is only $30 and I am a big fan of the backpacks when you have things like rods in your hands.
I use a Plano 9606 tackle box. It is a large tackle box with 6 trays in it. I really need to get a new one of them but I can't find any place that still carries that particular model.
Carries all your tackle and all the tackle you will ever get.
Don’t know how much help I can be as I am a minimalist when it comes to carrying tackle.
I have been using a Mossy Oak Anglers Satchel I got from DSG.
https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/mossy-oak-rebel-anglers-satchel-bag-17moaurblstchltcktbx/17moaurblstchltcktbx
It it can fit 2 size 3600 tackle trays in the main compartment and 1 size 3500 tackle tray in the front pocket. It has a zippered pouch in the back. I carry an assortment of crankbaits, soft plastics, terminal tackle, scissors, pliers, knife, wacky rig tool, scale, grippers, first aid kit and 2 extendable rod holders in this satchel.
I also have a Plano 3500 weekender bag that fits 4 size 3500 tackle trays and has lots of MOLLE and outside mesh pockets for easy access to tools.

I believe academy carries one much like that one. $20

I have been using the Cabela's Advanced Angler tackle bag in large size (holds 3600 sized boxes) as seen here: https://www.cabelas.com/product/fishing/tackle-storage/tackle-bags/pc/104793480/c/104777280/sc/104619780/cabelas-advanced-anglers-tackle-bags-without-utility-boxes/1391169.uts?slotId=1
Was thinking of trying something larger with wheels which would be nice like the Bass Mafia tackle bag or maybe a backpack. The tackle bag strap over one shoulder is a little uncomfortable after a while.
I shove a bunch of 3700 size planos into one of those waterproof boat bags they sell at bass pro. Certainly not bank-angler friendly but when I go in my kayak or from the bank it's easy enough to throw some of them in a backpack, and I have a milk crate to hold them all in my kayak.

I am primarily a bank fisherman with boating whenever I can find the time (rarely).
I base my system on a shoulder carry bag and many individual Plano boxes.
OK truthfully I have several carry bags and also boxes, but the point is if you keep it modular with bags and boxes you have flexibility to grab and go. That way you just take what you need on a given outing.
After a few months of bass fishing seriously, I found there was no way I can keep all my tackle in a single box.
Prefer simple over the shoulder bags to backbacks because I like the wide top opening, and don't like to have lots of compartments because they confuse me and I can't find stuff, especially those deep ones!

I've been all over the map in terms of this topic. Backpacks, worm bags,
"regular" tackle boxes, utility boxes, and so forth. I currently use a Plano
Guide Series box for freshwater, something similar for salt.
That said, I am ALWAYS looking for more efficient methods. I *almost*
went with what @Catt and @J Francho like. That may be on my radar
in 2019 to try out. I really like BPS's utility boxes for senko and other
soft plastic storage....
I carry what I call an “attack bag” which holds my most productive lures in there original bags (plastics, trailers, jigs ect.) I restock this bag daily from a stock pile of several Plano hard sided boxes which are stored on shelving in the camp.

That's the tiny bag. A purse, really, lol.

Lmao.
I spent a couple of seasons trying to find something I could carry in a boat, or while walking around the bank. I ended up with the Plano 1155 Satchel box for bank fishing and a BPS Extreme Qualifier 370 for fishing out of a boat.
I use this. It holds a min of 4 utility boxes. I have 5 in it. There's a velcro pocket on the front, zippered pockets on each end, a zippered pocket in the lid flap and a net pocket on the rear. It helps you carry a lot of plastics. https://www.cabelas.com/product/fishing/tackle-storage/tackle-bags/pc/104793480/c/104777280/sc/104619780/cabelas-pro-guide-tackle-bags/1934464.uts?slotId=6
I may just use this. $10 at Walmart. Numerous size utility boxes and ziplock baggie full of soft plastics. I just need something that I can put all my stuff in. When I go fishing I never know what we may be going for.
These days its either size 3600 trays in a backpack or 3700 trays in a tackle bag. Went away from the hard case style years ago.

That is very similar to the one I use. My 9606 box is bigger. It lets me carry a lot more stuff I don't need or won't catch fish with me. Thanks for the info.
@Tyler. When I walk creeks in the summer I tote a backpack full of trays just like that.
I use to hate setting my tackle box down, walk off fishing and have to keep walking back to get it haha
In the canoe I have my Plano 9606 with my Bass baits/lures/whatever and my Plano 6803 with my Panfish baits/lures/etc.

Ya the only thing that sucks is it’s disorganized. I got several size so I know what is what. Other than that it wouldn’t be bad.

X2 when I'm not on boat a backpack is great I can put as little or way too much in it????
check this out.... I may go with this.

I'll never own another one that you can pick up from the top while it's unlatched and dump the top of the tackle box all over the place. I can't tell you how many times I did that as a kid. Enough times that I put everything valuable in the lower trays.
I have at least 20 Plano 3700 tackle boxes filled with lures and other tackle that I store in my house. When I go fishing I use a backpack to store 1-2 Plano 3700 boxes with the lures I need for that day. So far it has worked great for me.

Gah - I could MAYBE fill 4-3700's...if I put my wrapped bags of worms/grubs/etc in long slots.
As long as I've been fishing (50+ years) I still can't wrap my head around having so much tackle - I'd go into a panic attack trying to decide what to use next.
I have a plain old tackle box with not much in it
My tackle box is a portable file carrier from Staples which holds 6 Plano 3700s. To its right is a utility carrier which stores the tools you see on the middle seat of the 14' rental boat I fish from as well as small Plano boxes of hooks, weights and etc. The dry bag in the stern holds 3 Plano 3600s. extra clothes and, of course, a thermos of coffee.

I hear ya I really do. I just like watching shows and buying the baits to see if they work.

Will,
The pic of your setup takes me back 40 years to my Dad's backwater honey hole. I'm sitting on the bench seat casting a weedless, hand poured, flat tail worm with a Zebco 33 while Dad is wearing them out with his various Abu 5500C's and 5000A's. Thanks for the refreshed memories.

I like mine a lot. This is my "carry all" box where I have a bit of everything and it does a good job holding spinnerbaits and buzzbaits (in the bottom). I got mine used so it's missing some of the smaller boxes in the bottom but I use that space to hold my gulp containers and some bags of plastic. The only "issue" I've had with it is if you aren't careful to make sure it's latched and you pick it up by the handle, it will dump your baits EVERYWHERE. But a lot of boxes have that issue.

Yup. You got that right. I've had that happen a few times, so I
got VERY observant and always leave at least one top latch shut
when I'm out on the water...bottom is closed most of the time.

Nice looking backpack.

I may eventually get one of the Kastking pond hopper sling backpacks. They look like they really put some thought into these packs as far as storage and access to tools. Sold out on Amazon but it looks to still be available from the Kastking website.
Alright. I got this today at Academy. This thing is awesome. Holds 4 large tackle boxes (3600 size). I am able to put several spools of fishing line. Can put more utility boxes as needed. It is also amazingly comfortable to carry on your back. It has padding on the back to help protect the stabbing in your back from anything. Check it out! $50 worth it. Also has cloth small pouch on top that I did not show that you use to keep sunglasses in.
https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-extreme-qualifier-370-tackle-bag-or-system
This is what I use when I am forced to fish as a co-angler and it holds everything I need not everything I want to bring.
Besides that I use the lockers on my X-18 Xpress.
Allen
Kayak fisherman so got to maximize my storage space.
I had to wait a while before getting these as they usually go for retail. Just had to wait for stock and coupon codes from ACK. Dang things are pricey at full retail. 15-20% off coupon codes softened the blow but they sure do make it convenient.
I also have one of these in the front cuby hole. I picked it up on sale at BPS. It holds a lot of stuff but the storage boxes were moved to the behind and under the seat storage.
I have several "tackle bags" but I almost never carry everything I have unless I am going on a fishing trip for a few days or, in areas I don't know what to expect. For waters I know, I have a few "speed boxes" set up with specific techniques. These boxes are typically the single sided plano clear plastic snap boxes you can find in most places that sell any sort of tackle. For example, I have a box just for topwater, with a few shallow lures like suspending/floating jerkbaits and inline spinners tossed in. Most mostly it's a box of poppers, ploppers, few frogs etc. Have another box for jigs, plastics, and other techniques for the bottom. Another box for midrange baits, like cranks, deeper suspending jerkbaits, etc. I have a little mixed box that has a bit of this and that that I frequently use, which also contains common hooks, sinkers, and tackles I may need. Then another master tackles box that's just full of all of my tackles that I can pick from to load in one of my other specialized boxes I plan to use that day. This seems to work best for me to not carry too much and still stay organized.
Here's my topwater box

I just bought one of these... We will see how it works out. It holds 5 3700 boxes.
This is my one - so far. Cabela's Advanced Angler Tackle Bag - 3600 size, holds six boxes in the main compartment and the front pouch will hold another. Side pouches for various things. I'm happy with it as it holds all the tackle I own with room for the things I still want to get.
I wanted something that holds tackle boxes flat rather than on their side. Tired of my hooks jumping from one section to the other. I believe that backpack accomplished that. I like how I have room for sweatshirt and anything else I may need. It’s good for me because when I go out of town I never know what I’ll be going for and it’s easy to carry between places and throw on the boat or carry to the shoreline.
