Looking for some people's opinions on what they like for headwear the keep COOL out on the water. They all seem the same to me so just curious as to what others use.
Been using the standard baseball cap all of my life. If it's really hot I'll dunk it in the water and put it back on.
I use a fishing hat with ear and neck flaps and I wet a sponge with cool water and put it under the hat. I recharge every 30 minutes if it's real hot. It does make a difference.
I wear a buff over a baseball cap.
The only fishing hats I wear are the PFG flexfit ones. Mostly because they're the only ones that fit my big head (L/XL).

Mine is from Bean also!
I have a couple of Columbia Freezer cap with the ear & neck flap. I bought a couple new ones through my wife's work but they aren't the same as the older ones, nor as good in my opinion. To me, keeping the sun off of your head, neck, and ears really helps.
I wear a typical military issue booney hat for hot weather. Cheap and stylish (to some folks, just not my wife)
I wet my buff and then put on a wide brim straw hat.
Baseball cap and buff here.
Wild brim hat with a neck flap made by Sunday Afternoons. Saw Randy Howell wearing the same hat.
I wear a running hat with flaps that cover ears and neck. Most light weight hat I've ever owned. Brand: AO (something like that; got it at gander mountain). I also use a neck gaiter. This hat is the mullet of hats: business in the front; party in the back!!
Visor
Open top is optimal for cooling while still blocking light with bill.
Also lightweight and can be pulled over your arm when you are making a high speed run down the lake.
baseball cap over buff, sunglasses, and sunscreeen on the nose.
Boonie hat so I get the full 360 head coverage, and a buff for my neck.
I like a wide brimmed hat with mesh top piece. The only thing is you have to wear a good sunscreen on your forehead to prevent burning through the mesh. But it does keep you cool and shaded.
I wear a baseball cap with shirt that has built in buff for my face and ears when pulled up. I also wear sunblock on my ears, nose, and cheeks when I pull the buff down.
I got a super wide brimmed sun hat at Costco. It is super light, lots of mesh and is one step away from a sombrero. I freakin love it.
The best headwear is the one you like the most.
I let the bass tell me which hat to wear .

My buddy @basshunter0731 forgot his hat one day and had this in his truck.
I use a wide brimmed straw hat with a buff usually. Straw hats just breath better for me and my bald head lol.
Tilley
Buff and a baseball hat.
