Best Cranks for the Cash 2025

fishing user avatarMN Basser reply :

What are really good crankbaits for good prices? I love Rapala, but $7 each is hurting the wallet. What other cranks do you have luck with at a good price?

fishing user avatarguest reply :

I use mostly DT's but if you want to go lower in price then I would look at Bandits and Storms

fishing user avatar.dsaavedra. reply :

RAPALA!!!!!!

$7 for a rapala is money well spent. rapalas are top notch baits easily worth $10+ IMO.

if you dont like $7 a bait then bandits are pretty good cranks too, but rapala are MUCH better and rapala has a wider variety of baits available.

I agree Bandits and Storms, and I would add Bombers

fishing user avatarpowerman970 reply :

I love the Bomber Fat A's.

fishing user avatarAKFerzy7 reply :

OOPPSSS YOU ARE RIGHT I USE THE 8 A's

fishing user avatarSV1000 reply :

How about the BPS brand crankbaits?

fishing user avatarGrey Wolf reply :

Bandits

fishing user avatardjmax22 reply :

I bought a few BPS brand cranks. They didnt run right out of the box. Spent time tuning them. Hooks are cheap. I would go with Storm Wiggle Warts. These are time tested fish magnets. Although the hooks will need ot be replaced. I picked up some bandits 300 series at BPS. I was impressed, but havent got a chance to use them yet.

fishing user avatarmaxke01 reply :

DT's

fishing user avatarohiobassmaster93 reply :

norman crankbaits are really good and there pretty cheap.... the fatboy my personal favorite is only like 4.50

fishing user avatarHesterIsGod reply :

bassmaster magazine just did an article on best cranks for under 5 bucks

fishing user avatarCory N reply :

Bandit's and Normans X 15

fishing user avatarRayraff reply :

Bomber Model A's you can catch them on sale for $2 a piece if you lucky

fishing user avatarBig-O reply :

I'll go with bomber for the dollar but SK makes some good yet inexpensive cranks as well. Most run well out of the package.

fishing user avatarjdw174 reply :

Don't forget Bill Norman lures.  Great lures at a great price.

fishing user avatarShadcranker reply :

Bandit, Norman, and Luhr Jensen

fishing user avatarKevin Guidry reply :

Digger series at Cabellas is a quality crank and many styles $1.99 each. Bandits are also a good one chrome  bandit has a small problem holding on to finish but all others do well.

fishing user avatarMALTESE FALCON reply :

Rapala

Norman

Bomber

Strike King

Falcon

fishing user avatarMid-MO reply :

Wiggle Warts, Normans, Strike Kings (KVD uses them all the time - good enough for me).

fishing user avatarCaptain Chaos II reply :

One vote for Daiwa peanut.  Good and cheap.  $4-$5.

fishing user avatarFivePoundBluegill reply :

Hmmmm rapalas costing $7? I get rapalas for about $5 in southern california at about every store I go to. Anyway I am poor myself and usually stick to the cheaper jerk baits, crank bairts, topwater baits. I find rapallas are great baits. So are Strike Kings, Normans. Heddon lures are probably the best valued baits. I find these in wall mart for about $4.00 - $5.00. Storm lures are cheap too but not all of them are good. Wiggle Warts are a great bait though. Another good jerk bait that is pretty cheap is the diawa dr.minnow. It was about $6.00 and probably works better than the rapala origional for me...

fishing user avatarJosey Wales reply :

I would say for the money you cant beat the cotton cordell Big-O.

if you can find them in the older colors the better, but up here in MI they seem to work real well in those sandy and Marl type flats in the craw color.

Wall mart and Meijer had em real cheap a year or 2 ago.  They are normally like 4-5 bucks but ive seen em as low as 2...

I just bought a bunch up, sandblasted em and painted em all kinds of craw variations.  Depending on time of year and the water im fishin.

Hope this helps.

fishing user avatarLAbail reply :

I'd have to go with Bandit.. I love these Cranks and they work well.. I caught 10 fish in about 30 minutes yesterday on a red craw footloose. the one negative experience I've had with these is one day i was fishing in a tournament on Lake Verret in Louisiana. It was really hot out that day and the sun was cooking. Needless to say 2 of my LA shad crank baits that were sitting in a top part of my tackle box which you can see through had they're paint jobs torn up. Like the crank bait  busted out of the paint shell in 2-3 areas it looked like. But besides that these Cranks are awesome for the money. Out of all 18 up there those were the only 2 so I didn't mind

fishing user avatarGatorbassman reply :

What about the new H2O cranks at Academy. They look and run like the high dollar ones but are less then 5 bucks.

fishing user avatarKevO reply :

I just got some C.C. Super Spots for $.99 at academy.  I bought all the colors they had.  I heard the bass pro fishing classic had them for $.98 so I will go and get some other colors tom.  I lose a bunch of these baits every year and every brand has caught fish (rat-l-traps, Super spots, Strike King diamond shad, etc...)  Can't beat that price.

fishing user avatarThe Next KVD reply :

Wiggle Warts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fishing user avatarLdavis reply :

Bandits and Normans DBN/DLN are hard to beat!

fishing user avatarJayDub reply :

H20... CHEAP, New, and look like the higher dollars.  As for performance, more time will tell but they seem to run right out of the box pretty well and I like the hooks, paint, just about everything about them.  Catch fish too.  :)

fishing user avatarBigBassin144 reply :

I'd have to Say Bandits. Best crank I've ever used. I really like the 100 series in Bluegill, top producing lure this year by far!

BB

fishing user avatarHawghead reply :

Bomber Model A and Fat A's, and Storm Wiggle Warts

fishing user avatarbassman417 reply :

Ive used rapala, bandit, norman, bomber and other "name brand" cranks with some success. But believe it or not, and I know Im gonna catch at least a little crap for this, my top producer for diving cranks is Matzuo and if you can find em Blaze by Rattlesnake lures. These bad boys set me back a whopping $1.99 ea and I fish em just like the cheap lure they are. I figure if I lose 5 or 6 in one day in the rip rap and brush it didnt hurt my wallet any. With a mindset like that though your gonna catch fish if you aint scared to lose some tackle, Id just rather lose the cheap stuff.
