Bandit crankbait users 2025

fishing user avatarWIII-60 reply :

Fellas,

I'm going to pick up some bandit cranks later this week.

I've never used them, so I was wondering which ones you have (100, 200, flat max, etc) and what you think are some of their productive colors? I don't really need anything deeper than 14 feet, that is unless they make some sort of super-awesome-deep-diving crankbait.

fishing user avatarJigNBig reply :

Go buy some footlooses. they are my favorite crankbait made. I have one in about 10 different colors and they all work great.  I use everything they make except the MAXX series. I dont like them i feel that there are much better choices to make like the Rapala DT series or the Norman lineup.

So go buy a couple and catch some fish!

fishing user avatarbmadd reply :

I have several Bandit 100-300 baits. My favorite colors are the baby bass, pearl splatter back, baby bream, bluegill, chartruese shad, and rootbeer. They catch fish, easy to find, and aren't expensive. Try them out and see what you think.

i got really ticked at one last week

got my bandit snagged on a rock, i gave it a nice tug, it came loose, but all i got back was the bill. CHEEP! It wasn't even that hard of a tug

im sorry that happened, but in my opinion that crankbait probably got chipped from a jagged rock. So it might of been a fluke. Even if it wasnt i still think bandit cranks are great for their price. They are 1/4 of the cost of LC's, so if one or two breaks in my fishing career, i still am saving a lot of money without losing a lot of quality. Feel free to disagree though thats just my 2 cents. ;)

i have not given up on them as i still have one more but if that snags its over for bandit. I had good hopes for them since their cranks looked to be great quality for a cheaper price, so well see how my other bandit goes

fishing user avatarMatt Jungblut reply :

i have about 20  of them in the 100 and 200

i like the 100 the best for 1-4 foot water

fishing user avatarIDbasser reply :

I love bandit cranks, I mostly use the 100 series, I have a few colors, pearl red eye and chart/black back are my best so far.  I am getting more colors for this year to try, and I am also going to try some of their deeper cranks.

fishing user avatarCJ reply :

100-400 for me. Blue chrome, rootbeer, chartuese/blue back, and orange craw.

I've also broke them at the bill. Every once in awhile you'll just get a lemon. But Bandit isn't the worst brand that has this problem. I've broke em by slapping them on the water to get grass off of em. But I've had enough success, I'll keep fishing them.

fishing user avatarMaxximus Redneckus reply :

LC,s dont have bullet proof bills either i have seen a few floating on my local lake without a bill, back on topic i have about 20 bandits and i like um they catch fish and are cheap what more can u ask for?????

fishing user avatarguitarkid reply :

I have one that kind of wiggles and kind of runs true, but you can not feel the thing wiggle. I might buy another one, 3 strikes and you are out, or it might have been the rod, I have changed since. But they do not look or feel cheap when I picked it up out of the package.

that happens to rapalas too.

fishing user avatarWayne P. reply :

Of all the colors available in the Bandits, I have the most in my tackle box and at home as spares in the Mistake color. I favor the 100, 200, and 300 sizes. I buy all the non made-in-China ones I can find. Change out the rear hook for an Owner Tournament Trailer in Chart/white or red and you will have very productive combination.

fishing user avatarWIII-60 reply :

Thanks for your input fellas (and ladies),

As it stands, I'm getting the 300 series because I could use some cranks that run in that range. It'll probably be the chart. shad, rootbeer, and pearl red eye.

I amassed around $200 in BPS gift cert. recently so I'm just looking to get some things that I don't normally spend my own money on. Bandit cranks being one of those things.

fishing user avatarSiebert Outdoors reply :

I've got a bunch of all sizes up to 300 but all it seems like I ever throw is the 300

fishing user avatarGrey Wolf reply :

Bandits are an excellant cheaper bait. I've done well with the rootbeer color.

fishing user avatarAvalonjohn44 reply :

I am a huge Bandit fan.  I like everything from the footloose (0-1 foot diver) to the 100, 200, & 300.  They are great little baits.  They come in just about any color, use whatever works well in your area, they'll have a similar pattern to other baits that you've used.  I stay away from the flatmaxx, I do not like the action, and two have split open on me.  I can't wait to find a couple of the deep diving 700 series.  Up to 16 feet I think...

fishing user avatarhunt4 reply :

I caught my biggest bass on a Bandit. A 7.9 on a mistake 200 series. Also caught a 7.1 last year on a black 100 series. Somethin about that black gets them. I caught 6 fish over 3 pounds one March day last year.

fishing user avatarBankbeater reply :

Love the footloose and it works good as a wakebait also.

fishing user avatardetroit1 reply :

I only have their Flat Maxx series, which i love. Bluegill color- shallow or deep , and i do want to get a couple of those 700's...

fishing user avatarskippinfool reply :

WIII- I have had great success with 200 & 300 in brown chartreuse craw, baby bass, and pearl chartreuse. Great action, reflect well, and pure bass catchers.

fishing user avatarSV1000 reply :

I bought a few Bandit 200's in search of Crappie last year and tried some 100's for Bass. I prefer the louder rattle of the Mann's but the color selection from Bandit is the creme.

One question, the Footloose color selection on the website looks to be all 100 or 200 series lures looking at the bill. Do all Footloose have the short bill?

FOOTLOOSE is unique among Bandit Crankbaits for

it's ability to be fished at extremely shallow depths. Slightly

larger than Series 1000 lures, FOOTLOOSE features a

2-inch body and low lip design that allow retrieves just under

the surface. FOOTLOOSE can be buzzed like a spinnerbait

and will even "wake" on the surface. Excellent for shallow

edges or submerged vegetation that grows near the surface.

Runs no more than a foot deep, even with light line.

And?

fishing user avatarSV1000 reply :

They all have long bills in the photos, only the top example has the short bill. Are those 100 or 200 series that shown as the colors available for the Footloose?

fishing user avatarMobydick reply :

I like the 100 series. I caught my second biggest fish on the brown/chartreuse 100 series. I also do good on the purple colored one in the 300 series.

The Footloose is a shallow bait.  Only one bill length.  I doubt Bandit wanted to take the time to take all those photos again when they already had color examples for the 100/200/300.
