I was speaking with a guy fishing at my local smallie river lately, he was just spanking the fish. He was using one of those "do nothing" type baits rigged on a jighead. Asked him what they were, he said 2" Senkos. Said that he had bought them a couple of years ago and was running low but couldnt seem to find any more. Anyone seen any of these things around? Or something comparable? I dont know if they were something else or what, seemed to have a much "smoother" finish than Senkos normally do. Any idea? Thanks!
Cabelas had them on clearance sale so I picked up some but haven't tried them.

Same here. Cabelas in Richfield, WI still had a bunch of packs in the Bargain Cave for $0.88 each last time I was there (a couple of weeks ago). If you're interested, I might be able to stop by there sometime this week and pick up some packs.
No, I haven't seen them I use little joe's 1.5 tiny tubes and they work great for smallmouth. this is kinda what your looking for http://www.lindyfishingtackle.com/tackleshop2/home.php?cat=678

They are still being produced but not for the American market, those itsy bitsy baits are hot with japanese anglers.
All I can say is don't get a 2 incher.
Get a 6 incher and a bite each piece to 2" they come in a 5 pack so multiply 6 x 3 (3 pieces from each 6" senko) and you get 15, it's just more for you money!

That's what I go with wave worm, bamboo, and dip sticks, works well with me if I wanna down size.

This is exactly what I do. One spot I like to fish is filled with nice crappie and decent lmb. This smaller presentation enables me to catch both species and I can cut the pieces to various lengths depending on what they want. Give it a try.

believe it or not, I got the idea from a fishing show called fishing the flats, they were using a "flats class" rig, aka, drop shot.
From your signature ( apparently you don 't practice what you preach : )Listen closely to what they're saying!

Article 10 Bad Mistakes Bassers Make:
THEY DON 'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS.
So what does Van Dam think the average fisherman could do better ?
"I see a real lack of attention to the details" KVD says. " they don 't replace the factory hooks on a crankbait, they don 't change their line enough, they think, 'Well, I should have 14 lb test for that crankbait, but 10 will work'. They 'll throw a 1/4 ouncs shakey head in shallow water when they know they should switch to a 1/8 ounce. They throw a white spinnerbait in clear water when they know they 'll probably get more bites with a transluscent shad patterns."
The same can be applied in this case.
I visited the GY web site last year and he had a clearance on his 2-inch Senkos so I bought a bunch in three colors: black, cinnamon and blue.
Have seen 3-inch Senkos in the stores but not any 2-inchers.
Great baits for crappie, bream and bass.
I use a small # 4 or #6 long shank gold hook and throw them on my ultralight.
Largest bass I caught was in a pond in Maryland. She hit it at my feet as I was getting ready to pull the bait out of the water to recast.
She was over 6-pounds.
I don't know who was more surprised. Me or her. ;D
Yamamoto manufactured a tail less grub for the JDM, if I 'm not wrong it 's 1 1/2 inch long, man it 's a killa bait !
Don 't have a pic at hand right now, but let me take one from the ones I got to post it.
I hammer the white perch (crappie) with those wacky rigged on the new gamakatsu 1/16 oz. flat head weighted hook. It has a quiver those perch can't stand along with smaller LMB.
The daily limit down here is fifty per day and have limited twice in a week.
I wish these hooks came in a 3/8 size for a regular senko so that I can try this rig for bass as well.

How are you fishing this rig? Just slowly jigging it?
I bought a boatload of the 2" Senkos earlier this year- some from Cabela's, the rest from GYCB. According to the GYCB site, they were made for the Japanese market. They are down to three colors now. When they are gone, thats it- unless they can be had through Japanese tackle sites ?? They are awesome little baits when the conditions call for them.
HEY ***- got a niche to fill here !!

I tie one on to a 10' B&M Crappie Rod and feed enough line to reach bottom at the depth I am fishing ( here in Louisiana this time of year this usually 6' to 8'). Position on the inside bends of creek channels, stick ups, and brushpiles then drop this rig straight down on your target letting it flutter on slack line. As it sinks, gently raise your rod tip occassionally and let it fall back again with the fluttering action. Do this a few time on a likely spot before moving on.
This rig is very close to a flick shake but properly sized for a sac-a-lait snack.
where in louisiana are you wobble?
I suggest the yamamoto baby ika.
Use a wacky style finesse wide gap gamakatsu hook size #4
and insert nail sinker (1/32oz- good for 5~10 ft. water) into the ika body.

I am begging to see a lot of this as overkill and built in industry advertising. I am really going to spend more time ON DETAIL to figure out what exactly catchs the best fish and what exactly empties my wallet for no good reason!
I am not sorry for this but these fish are bieing given the ability to think way beyond what they are capable of. I am starting to see how easy it is to sell a lot of stuff we do not need in the firstr place.
The 2" senko works great on a dropshot rig. BPS sells their brand in 2" and 3" in the crappie section at my local store.
I use the 2" Senko, wacky rigged with a 1/32 oz. plain jig head for crappie and bass. I also attach a bobber from time to time, especially this time of the year when it's cold and there's a little chop on the water. They are pure dynomite!
Hey Bossier, I live in West Monroe.

i think i can get a 2" 'stick-o' version. not sure how much bigger in diameter they are, but those three inchers seem to be killer baits for lots of folks too. got a pic?

I've got some on the way now, once they arrive, I will post a pic for you ***!
