Made an offer, I'll find out tomorrow if my offer is accepted.
It's brand new.
come on man...gotta give us more info than that!!!
I am 55 have owned a lot of boats. New and used, I have 3 right now. Bass Boat and two ski boats. I buy them when they are ready for the farm and strip them down to the floor and rebuild them. When I am done I sell them unless I feel they are a better boat then what I have now.
With that said, I have also owned brand new boats, nothing like getting a new boat or car I guess for that matter. They run great they smell great and they look very cool.
Now that I have rebuilt several and know how easy it is I dont think I would but a new one again. If cash is no option then I would just throw 40-60k out there and get a new one just for the fun of it. I met a guy, 30's out at the lake the other week. He had a brand new boat with all the trimmings. I asked what he paid for it and he did not answer but to tell me 700 a month. That is why I dont buy new. I use mine a lot. Few times a week as long as the weather is good. For me that payment, even with being able to afford it, does not make sense to me.
Lots of great used boats out there that could last for years to come. But if you have already bought it congrats. I know the feeling of bringing home a new boat or going out on the lake the first time it is a great feeling, enjoy!
This will be Ranger #3. More details to follow.
522D?
Not a fan of the 522D. Too deep.
Well the deal is done. now I just need to get it shipped out to CA. I owe someone on this site a beer. They posted a link to this boat several months back. The seller was not willing to lower his price. Patience paid off. I got a steep discount. Probably the last 2016 Z522 that was available with the 300 Racing Mercury motor and brand spanking new. In pretty much the exact color combination I was looking for.
Very Nice ~
That 300 will take care of business . . .
Congrats
A-Jay
That'll work.
Nice!
Be still my heart !
My last boat was an '07 Z22 with the same motor. What a great boat!
Nice boat! I wonder what top speed is.. Congrats!!!!
Sweet ride! Congrats on the new rig!

It's a Ranger, so the owner will tell you 75, but gps is no more than 50.
(Sorry, Bullet owner joke, lol)
For the record, I'm perfectly fine putzing around the lake at 50.
I'd actually be curious what you get, with what prop, and setup. I bet she does low 70s, easy. Drop back to 50, and save a ton in gas. That's how mine works. 32 GPH @ WOT, or go a month without refilling driving wisely. There's some benefit to high power.
My last boat was nearly identical. Cruised at 50ish all day long. WOT was low 70's.
Fast enough. My Bullet is actually set up for fast hole shots, and low plane speed. It's a low/mid 70s boat this way, too. I did put a monster prop on her, raised the motor 1.75" above pad, and got her up to 85, but it took forever to plane, and she was not fun to drive at lower speeds.
Beautiful boat, man - congrats.
Now to find the correct 4 blade prop. Boat comes with a 3 blade.
Trophy Plus 27. Have Croxton make it nice for you. Cup it and plug it!
Trophy Plus 27 is rated for motors up to 225, I'm running the 300 3.2 stroker.
Well I think I've found a company to haul my boat. Hope to have it by next weekend.
Sweet!!
26.5 Pitch Bravo 1 XS according to the powers that be at Mercury Racing.
The new Pro Max might have a fitment for that beast!
Spoke to a rep at Mercury Racing regarding break in procedure and a propeller. They were very helpful. Based on the hull and the motor the suggestion was the 26.5, so I'm going to start there and see how it runs. Right now I'm still trying to figure out getting the boat to CA. Hopefully it will be on a truck in the next couple days out to me.
I won't be able to pick up the boat until sometime next week. It's going to the dealership to make sure all is in order. Realistically I won't be able to get it out on the water for a couple weeks. I have a busy work schedule for the next several days.
After a break in on our big lake then a trip to 'Lake X" will be first stop. I've not been there in several years, even thought I've been paying my membership dues for the last 5 without a single visit. Looking forward to getting back on the water!
Are you feeling like the kid in a candy store yet?

Boat is shrink wrapped and on a trailer on it's way to CA. Should be here Friday. Won't be able to pick her up until the following Wednesday from my Ranger dealer.

Contact Phil's Props in Redding.
Tom
Boat made it safe to my local Ranger dealer Saturday.
It's going to need a good detail job. the shrink wrap rubbed on certain areas and left marks. Not too big of a deal, but a hassle none the less. I'm sure it would have been much worse had the boat not been covered.
Ordered new windscreens and headrests for the cockpit seats. They were damaged the most. The cowling will need to be buffed out as well.
All in all very happy to have the boat. It's been a few years since I sold the last one, so looking forward to getting back on the water. Probably won't be able to pick it up until sometime next week. Busy week of work for me and they're quite busy at the Ranger shop.
Also ordered the TH Marine alarm and a pair of JL Audio marine 6.5 speakers to replace the stock units.

What does 'cut and plug it' mean?
Cupped means just that - custom work to cup the fins of the prop. Often you plug the exhaust vents on a performance prop for better hole shot.

Thx.
Hey Redline! Just curious about the new boat. I hope it is exactly what you were looking for. Give us an update!

Is the dealer paying for all the damage from delivery?
Schweet boat!!
Well, took a drive out to the dealer today. She's just about ready to be picked up from all of the work that was done. Still waiting on a lower cowling that's on back order, and looks like DMV has finally sorted out the paperwork. Apparently, buying a boat from a dealer in LA and registering in CA can be a little time consuming.
All in all, I'll be picking up the boat in a couple weeks. Just the same, I've been so busy that it just would have sat in my barn for this time anyway. Looking forward to filling her up with tackle and going out on the maiden fishing trip!
