Tomorrow is our anniversary, and this is from my lovely wife.
It is perception pescador pro100. I've been research this yak and it is small 10' with stadium type seat and in my budget. I hope it is stable enough to fish in. Can't wait to get her on water.
The best of luck with your new watercraft!
As for you wife, you already got lucky
Roger
She gets an A for the thoughtfulness and an F for the giftwrapping
Hahaha, I guess so. She went to pick up yesterday and hid at our friend house. He brought in to surprise me today since we have our house warming today.
Best of luck with your new yak. Have fun.
I have the 12 and love it. I don't know about the 10 but in calm water I can stand and fish from mine. Make sure you pick up some foam golf balls and plug the four scuppers in the center of the kayak. The tackle storage under the seat is lower than the sourounding parts of the kayak and your Plano box will be under water unless you plug those scupper holes. That's the only thing I would change in the kayak

In her defense, she wrapped the paddle pretty good, and that only item she surprise me in the house. But she didn't put in the box so I know right away it is a paddle.

Get a different pfd. You want one made for kayaking which will have the flotation in the back high enough to clear your seat.
I don't use rod floaters, I just have my crate clipped to my kayak and my rods are clipped to my crate with some carabiners and rope.
I don't have a lanyard on my fish grippers just about four feet of paracord and a small carabinieri
I didn't plug the scuppers in the tank well because the don't let in much water and I don't care if my gear in the back gets a little wet.
git r done James ?
Congrats!...
on the wife!
Here is the PDF I use but it has an ascend logo on it.

notice how the flotation for the back dosent start by the waist but half way up your back
Congrats! Nice ride.

Thanks, I was looking at that one also and this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01KVRAFS8/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Your wife is fantastic; that's quite a surprise.
You can make your own rod floater by cutting a small piece of copper pipe insulation ( the foam type that comes in packs that are 6 feet long). It only takes a 4 to 6 inches above the reel handle on a spinning rod to do the trick.
Have fun in your new ride.
Nice kayak.
Any reason you wanted the 10' instead of a longer kayak? Are you tight on storage or transportation needs?
Let us know what you think when you get a chance to try it out.
For PFD I went with an inflatable. I find the lack of bulk and the open back works great. I don't notice I'm wearing it which was what I was going for.
Excellent catch! Wife, that is The yak is great, and
will serve you well. As for PFD, I started with one like you
first posted, a Dick's Sporting Goods/Field and Stream
model, but eventually went with the BPS Ascend model
that currently runs $100 (I got it several years back for
$79 or less, can't remember).

That looks like a good life vest. It has the high back flotation, plenty of pockets in the front and it's at reasonable price
Congrats and happy anniversary! Great gift right there.
Luckily my Father-in law fishes so my wife can ask him what would be a perfect gift for me. That's how I ended up with a trolling motor for Christmas.

She got me this yak because I kept nagging her about getting a kayak for myself. I sent her msg every day with kayak picture and ppl having fun in it. I even sent a picture of couples on tandem kayak lol. Then I sent her kayak with price some old Craigslist and some new with local store to pickup. She picked the color herself since she know I like red and she doesn't like green(special order but deliver within next day, thanks west marine).
Come to think of it, I should have sent her the link to hobie or native propel drive instead lol.

We call these "divorce boats."
Congrats on your new boat!

You should elaborate lol
It's self explanatory.....tandem boats. It's a terrible purchase for a couple. Fine for kids.

That's better than adding the item to a wish list!

Lucky me then, she told me she asked whoever at west marine about tandem kayak as well, but he said not to buy it. I still need more toys in the future without her I would be doomed.

Believe me I was working very hard to get approval from her to buy all these. I remember it took me almost 3-4 months to get my boat. This yak took me at least a month or so.
As of now I got a budget to buy whatever necessary for kayak, but I don't think I'm gonna be able to buy any other gears or lures for awhile.

I plan for this size for awhile, first on Malibu mini-X which is about 9'3". The reason is easy on myself to hauling around on my tundra double access cab. I will use this kayak in 5mph zone lake most of the time so small should be no problem.
I don't think I will use that type of PFD. Chance of getting wet on kayak is pretty high and to rearm those type of PFD would cost 15-20 each time.
I use a auto inflate, the only time it went off is when I dropped it in the water. Otherwise, it's fine.
Congrats on the new yak! You have an awesome wife! The seat on that yak is comfortable.
Definitely spend on a good pfd. I have the NRS Chinook and am pretty happy with it. The high back on this pfd works well with the Pescador Pro seat. I would get the bright orange for high visibility.

Enjoy!
congrats on the new ride!
What a girl!
Congratulations!
