This is my 1970 with a 20hp mercury.
My Skeeter. I love her! She is lean, mean and clean and rides like a dream! ;D
By the way, the trolling motor in the pics has since been replaced with a Motorguide brute 70lb. thrust model with gator mount!
Specs on the boat:
18 1/2 ft. 150hp Suzuki Oil and Fuel injected motor, dual live wells, in dash fishfinder with other goodies, up front Eagle fishfinder and lowrance flasher, 2 rod lockers, power tilt and trim, hydraulic steering, baitwell, huge ice chest and tons of storage!

LBH, I LOVE the job you did on this sucker! I saw the before and afters and all I can say is WoW!!
Helluva job!! *thumbs up*
Hey Cujo13. Could you scale your pic down a bit? HAve to scroll WAY over to see the whole post.
LBH, thats sweet!!
I'm looking for an older aluminum boat to fix up for fishing a couple of electric only lakes around here.
Don't know if i could do as good a job as you have on that one though!!!
sorry bowjunkie i havent figured that out yet :-/
Cujo13, here is what you do. Go to www.tinypic.com. Upload the pic from your drive and hit the host picture button. In a few seconds, you will have a scaled down version. It is not super small, but it will fit the screen.
Copy the new link of your picture and modify your post. Insert the new pics link in place of your old one and viola!
Glenn,
I don't think I have ever seen that color before!!
That is absolutely gorgeous!!
Glenn, are those bassresource colors custom or did you design the site to match the boat?
QuoteGlenn, are those bassresource colors custom or did you design the site to match the boat?
LBH I didn't even notice that, but they do match!!
The boat matches the site.
Here's mine-fishes pretty good!
17 FT Ranger R72, 115 Johnson Fast Strike, 62 MPH on GPS.
Glenn- let me re-word. You had the boat done to match the site or had the boat and used its colors for the site?
I had the boat done to match the site. It had to be done.
Here ya go
Oh wow, that came out way too huge.
Here's my beast ;D. I bought this when I was 15 (now 22). It is great to fish ponds and smaller bodies of water, but my dad and I wanted to start fishing larger waters. So two years ago my dad bought a '96 Skeeter from a family friend that honestly looked like it just rolled of the show room floor. It was incredible. Then last fall my dad was fishing by himself and punched a hole through the fiberglass. A guy at the fiberglass repair shop offered my dad more than he paid for it with the hole still in it so he took his offer. My dad was using it about once a month, but I was using it any chance I could get. I was away at school when he sold it and he didn't even tell me until the next spring that he had sold it. Now I am back to old faithful :-/. I guess it beats fishing from the shore. I just don't like being limited to the bodies of water I can fish and I can't go if the wind is over 10 mph.
QuoteI had the boat done to match the site. It had to be done.
Now that's dedication!
The boat looks sweet, Glenn...lots of bling-bling.

Hey I had a 2 man at one time like that also. They are great for getting places some big rigs like mine can't. And you are right about being WAY better than fishing from shore.
About the wind. I was on a lake in mine once and the wind came up and blew about 25 mph. with higher gusts. That was scary!! Finally ended up running the boat ashore (the wind) My little 27 lb. thrust trolling motor was not enough to fight it.
bought at a pawn shop lol
Talk about a nice pawn shop. All the ones I ever find usually have high priced junk.
No pic from me, but mine's a 12' Tracker Flat bottom with a 43 pound Motorguide. I'm in the process of installing removable seat swivels and pedastals so I can still load it in and out of my truck.
KU, I used to fish from a waterscamp and caught some really nice bass out of it. I used to fish a cove in Lake Palestine, TX. These tourney fishermen would come screamin' in in their big boats and rip the trees with spinners, getting not a bite. I'd follow up in my 'scamp and pull out nice bass with a t-rigged worm. You learn to fish slower and be more patient in a little boat because of your limited mobility.
AND finally, WOW Glenn, that's a truly beautiful boat. That's the best looking Ranger I've ever seen.
Thanks everyone for sharing pics or descriptions of your boats!!!
Everyone of them is sweet!!!
I love being on the water I grew up fishing out of a '69 starcraft 15' deep v with a 25 hp evinrude.
It was my granddads boat.
When he passed in 94 Grandma had to sale it to help pay for the funeral.
It was just this past spring that I was able to afford a boat of my own.
I've spent every weekend since mid April at the lake. And I can't hardly wait until next weekend.

Dobi, Those Old Bass Trackers are Nice Boats, My friend has a 1984 TV-17 and it is Great, Lots Of Storage.
Here is my baby. It is a 2001 Crestliner Angler 16 with a 25 Mariner
Ok this is my little girl. Look a bit plain compaired to some of the orsm rigs in your pic's but I love her just the same. I have a 40hp 4-stroke Yammy pushing her.
darren.
QuoteDobi, Those Old Bass Trackers are Nice Boats, My friend has a 1984 TV-17 and it is Great, Lots Of Storage.
yea, even later on in life when I can afford a better one(hopefully one day).. odds are I will still keep this for its reliability. I bought it in August for $1500 and in 20 yrs assuming there is a good motor on it, it'll still be worth that
I'm getting ready to do some modifications to my boat in two weeks! I'll do a before and after pick then! I'll give a little low down on it now though. Its a 16' '97 Dakota jon boat that I bought "plain jane". I put decks on it, carpeted it, installed a livewell in it, the whole nine yards. The carpet is in dire need of replacing (part of the mod's) and I'm at a point now that I want to redesign the front deck (another mod). Its a GREAT little river/small lake boat! Don't think I'll ever part ways with it! I'' just need to get a glass one in a few years! ;D
Hey Barra
Thats a interesting boat.
Is that a typical boat down under?
Hammer

hope this pic comes out
Team-Daugherty...nice looking rig..I recently sold my 01 Angler 16sc w-40hp merc 4 stroke..actually was a very nice boat..was time for a step up tho..your pic brought back some good memories

TC1,
Thank you very much. It is perfect for my kind of fishing, The Schuylkill River, Beltzville Lake and my once a year trip to Canada.
How fast did your crestliner go with the 40HP? I was thinking about getting a bigger motor. Before I do I want to make sure the MPH increase would be worth the extra fuel use. If I am by myself, with my big prop on, one fuel tank, no middle seat. It will do 25MPH. With the smaller prop and a friend it will do 20MPH.
Paul
YW TD..actually it moved right along....30-32 mph 2 person, 6 gal gas and gear.
here is my baby.its a 1990 skeeter 40th anniversary edition with a merc 175
She works well so far, If it could only teach me to fish.
one of these day's i'm gonna buy a digital cam
but until then
got a triton tr21 with a 225 johnson venom
it's a rocket 8)
hey bowjunkie what year is your skeet?
I see the old logo I've got a soft spot for them
my first bass rig was a 1981 skeeter sierra 900 with a 85 hp johnson
and i'm trying to sell a 1987 starfire 175 with a 150 on it
those two boat's hold a dear place in my heart
your's looks clean dude
Ok here's my old Mckee Craft boat with a 1968 Mercury 500. The hull was a complete basket case when I bought it. I touched it up, painted it, put in a floor, front and rear platforms, carpeted it, installed center console, the old merc, steering, finder, trolling motor etc. It was a fun project and I learned alot doing it. It's been a fun little boat that actually moves right along. By spring Madhouse is going to be posting a pic of his new ride! ;D
Heres my junk. 97 Sprint 277 Fish and Ski w/ 115 Merc
Junk?
Some villages have one car!...that boat's beautiful and I bet the memories you have from it are too!
Junk is a term I use for just about everything. Actually, I really dig this boat. When I take my daughters out, I leave my stuff at home and have a blast watching them catch brim and bluegill on crickets all day.
There's some really nice boats in this thread. Heck, any boat that gets you out there is nice. Keep it coming!
She aint as pretty as all your boats but I can still haul em in from her ;D
...oh and if you are wondering what powers this mighty sea hog through high wakes of the weekend lake lice..... its a 2.3hp evinrude :
sweet boats guys!!!
anyone running a camoflauge boat???
I'm looking for a 14' to 16' camo jon with a 15 horse for duck hunting.
Don't laugh, at least it floats. The boat I mean. I just got the Jeep that was used for a hauling a bass boat by the previous owner, but I'm waiting till spring for a boat and trailer unless I find something till then that I don't need a loan for. This boat will then be stored at a local reservoir that has a 10 day quarantine and allows electric motor only.
I'm sure not laughing!!!
My very first boat (using the term loosely) was a water scamp that I bought at a garage sale for $25
I used to haul it around on top of a 1978 Ford Fairmont.
Won't hear me laughing,.....I am the jon boat fanatic. Love 'em!
Glenn-was watching the 5 minute powepoint presentation Art sent me from CAST. I could have sworn I saw your boat in there. I said to myself that it was worth it to have one with custom colors because the fact that I just picked your boat out in a passing pic, proves it.

i could see from your house you were more than likely from so. calif. i left orange county for texas last year and the one lake i miss more than anything is Naciemento in central calif. You will definitely want to take your new boat there for a week in April before the summer hits.
Good Guess BLANKED..Im actually close to San Bernardino...Like Diamond Valley, Casitas and Cachuma best. Would love to try "NACI" and April sounds like a great time. TY for the Tip.

This is the 1999 Javelin Renegade 20 with a 225 Ficht I just bought for $5,000 in AZ, plus another $600 to get it back to GA. Should be a nice little upgrade for my Stratos 285 Pro.
Nice deal on a nice boat! It's amazing how far we'll go for a good deal. (See Skeeter above) I paid $2,500 for mine. A little older and smaller, but the best my wallet would let me do.
Dan
My little tub is a 4.20 M Widebody Quintrex with 30HP Merc onthe back.
This is about the average size for Aussie bass boats. You guys must have some big lakes in the us looking at the size off the motors you use.
Cheers

Hows yall like this redneck bass rig?
Lol, found this couldn't resist.
Real boat: '96 champion 186 DCX Elite w/ '00 merc 150 XR6. By far one of the smoothest riding boats on the water.
What do you think of the Merc XR6? got a 2002 on my Skeeter...only had two "old" mercs in my life...ran great but a pain with maintaining.
can ya git one a them there redneck rigs with a side car fer ma sister?

We'll get ya set up there george
The merc starts up every time no probs, but lately it hasn't been wanting to idle at low rpms, believe the carb has become a bit clogged, will take into the shop for spring tune up and go from there..

After looking at all yall's boats all I can say is wow... :o...yall have the boats I have been dreaming of for a long time, kinda makes me ashamed of my beat-up little 14ft. moss-green jon boat with a 10 year old motorguide on it... :-[
I still love my jonny boat, I just wish I could have a big'ole Triton with a roaring Merc on the back...
Yea, but you can fish for a year for what I burn on a weekend for gas.
These big boats do have their drawbacks too. You also don't need a gas guzzling, full size pickup to haul your's back and forth to the lake. You can slide your's into any pond or lake around. Can't slide these big boats anywhere there's not a boat ramp. So, even if you got one of these big, shiney, fast bass boats, you would still have to keep your old jon, and find you find you would still use it more than the big boat. (after the new wore off the big boat and you got tired of spending so much on gas and oil)
Don't start knocking those old jons, I'm still very partial to mine. Over the years, that old tin can's probably haul in more fish than all my bass boats combined.
Let's see if I can make this work. I bought this boat off of Ebay sight unseen. I've been very pleased so far.
That was so easy I'll do another.
