How does this sealing machine work?

Answer: It works by melting the plastic in the same way that companies that make potato chips seal the bags you buy in the store.

How to install the batteries correctly?

Answer: There are obvious signs of "+" (corresponding to the anode of the battery) and "-" (corresponding to the cathode of the battery) in the battery slot.

Can you use this on mylar bags?

Answer: I'm thinking you can since they are plastic

Can you use this on cellophane bags?

Answer: Sorry, it cannot be used on cellophane bags

Answer: Actually, I think it could work if you cut the top off of a regular chip bag, then slide it over the top of your cellophane bag. That way you are "sealing" both but not melting your cellophane.

Can this be used with Sous vide bags?

How do you open the bag after sealing it? Does the heat seal open or do you have to re-cut the bag each time?

Would this seal a mylar bag?

Answer: Yes

So what part of this is a vacuum?

Answer: It's not a vacuum at all. . . It just seals the bag. . . Works great for that, but it doesn't claim to be a vacuum of any kind. . . If that's what you need, then this is not the right product.

Answer: The word vaccum in the description IS misleading as this does not have a vacuum on it. However if you press out the air before sealing it closes the bag sort of like a vacuum would.

So Awesome!!!! Takes a little practice to get it right but it makes an awesome seal. I have found that slow and steady wins for me. Love it comes with batteries all ready to go. Also absolutely love the opposite side cuts open what you seal. I keep one in the camper and the other in my kitchen.

Comes with 2 sealers/cutters 1 end cut the bag straight the other seals it up completely. Such a good price for 2 of these yse 1 at home the other at work. & it comes with 4 double aa batteries literally pays for itself in 1 use. Was skeptical at 1st but after using it this thing is great can't believe I never bought this thing years ago. Very easy to use & no more wasted snacks.

At the pricepoint, I did not have high expectations... especially since it seemed liked a "As Seen on TV" type product where you don't just get one... you get two! But, I figured I would give it a shot, because I have another product from mempdont (seller) that works very well and it a very sturdy build. That being said, I opened the the package... took some chip clips off bags of chips we already had, and gave it a shot. Installed the batteries, clicked to warm the unit up for about 5 seconds, and then put the bag through the sealer. It works, really, really well. If I needed to say something negative... it would be that at the very end, it is a little tricky to get started, because you don't have any of the bag to hold on that side... but you can go from one side to the other, starting in about an inch... and then run the bag through a 2nd time, going in the opposite direction to get that lost 1/3 inch.

I highly recommend. And, the safety hook is perfect for hanging on the spice rack we have in the pantry so it takes up NO drawer space. Great product.

I like that it has a hook and you can hang it up anywhere you want to. To keep it where you want to so you to. You can put in any location probably closest remember so you can open bags and also seal bags. When you use the Seal side of that start off slow and slowly speed up. So it does not overheat the area you’re in. Best thing to do is use the cutting side of it just underneath original seal or one of the last seals you created.

Works as described. A few times it didn’t work when the bag material was too thin - it sort of burned through and didn’t seal all the way across the entire bag. I’d say 90% of the time it works easily.

Side note, it’s a little difficult to get the air out of the bag before sealing. But that’s not what this is designed for so I can’t fault this product.

As soon as I got the sealer, I knew I had to try it to see if it lived up to it's description. Shortly after sealing my first bag, I was on the hunt in the pantry to find more bags that I previously would have closed up with a Chip Clip instead of resealing it.

I know now that my junk drawer will now have a lot more unused chip clips sitting in it! I'm very happy with my purchase.

I needed a travel-sized sealer for an airtight seal to save unused Colorstreet nail polish strips while on the road. I used my vacuum sealer at home, but that isn’t practical going from hotel to Airbnb to a resort, lol! This works just as it said it would, seals my packets perfectly, and I shared the second one with a friend who didn’t have a sealer at her house! Win, win! Oh…and batteries were included! Yay! Only problem I had was that the battery compartment door was a little hard to get open…I was afraid I was going to break it. But it’s tougher than it appears! I’ve even dropped it already, and it still works fine!

I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered this because products like this sometimes have the best intentions but are just not properly executed I resealed the plastic that it came in and this product sealed it and cut it like a razor totally impressed with the product. I was skeptical that this little gadget would perform the job as described by seller. Wow was I surprised that this hand held sealer would work as well as it actually does. Nice that it came with batteries and two sealers to boot. One note though, It will not re-seal a pouch of bacon, which is understandable due to the greasy surface of the plastic. Otherwise, once i had seen how well it worked when I tested it, I went through my panty and pulled out every bag of chips, cookies, Pecans, etc... and sealed each bag. Overall a great product for the inexpensive price.

Great product for the price! If you follow the instructions - warm it up for 3-5 seconds then glide slowly across the bag - it makes a perfect, strong seal. I'm always using clips and even ziploc freezer bags to store chips, cereal, crackers, etc., and unfortunately they still often go stale. Being able to reseal them like this will be a game changer for me. Also, the cutter is a nice little bonus and I love that it comes with a hook so I can hang it up easily instead of getting it lost in a drawer with a bunch of other stuff.

With three (3) active kids constantly in and out of the pantry, this bag sealer is key to keeping our cereal, chips, cookies, etc fresh. The sealer is easy to use for any age, our youngest is 9, and the opener makes it even easier to open a package (new or sealed) without the need to grab scissors. It takes a few attempts to figure out the best way to seal (timing), but once you experiment a few times, it is EASY. Hanger makes it easy to store/hang in pantry too so it does not get lost.

There's a reason you get two. Hard to position the bag properly to swipe all the way across, Yes, it will close the bag but only if you position the bag correctly I used this to close a bag of shrimp, which later got freezer burn. Buy something else.

We have used this on numerous types of plastic bags, both to seal and reopen without any problems. Seals tight and lasts (one week so far and just as tight as brand new). Have used it on potato chip bags of various thickness as well as other types of plastic product bags.
