Answer: The word vaccum in the description IS misleading as this does not have a vacuum on it. However if you press out the air before sealing it closes the bag sort of like a vacuum would.

The sealer is small but fits in my desk drawer perfectly. It is handy to have one end heat seals while the other cuts. I've used it on chip bags, nailstrips. It heats up within 3 to 5 seconds just like the directions say.

I have found these work pretty well. I did put the batteries in wrong the first time. I just glanced at it and thought they would both orient the same direction. At first I thought I had a dud, but when I looked closer I noticed the issue and have had no problems since. Sometimes it takes a couple swipes to get it to seal. Sometimes I hold it a little too long and it makes a hole. In general, it's not too hard to use though. My daughter sometimes rips the bag when she's reopening it, but I find it pulls right open. It's not really worth it for things we are going to eat within a few days, but very nice for things that take longer. My daughter is very picky about things going stale, so it has been good for that. The bags also look neater in the cupboard than when you use Ziploc bags or chip clips.

It required a little practice to get the right rhythm, but I was able to start making proper pockets in no time and without messing up more than one protector. I don’t buy chips that often, but I have tried it to reseal those plastic mailing bags. Again, a little practice, but it worked. I’ve found that the thinner the plastic, the faster you have to move it. If you move it too slowly, it will cut through the plastic, but the cut end WILL be sealed so it’s still accomplishing it’s goal. I’m sure I’ll find more uses the longer I have it. A lot of bang for my bucks!

I can't tell you how many times my kids will open a bag of chips just to eat half of them then leave them laying around the house or to spill in the car. Great product for the price! If you follow the instructions - warm it up for 3-5 seconds then glide slowly across the bag - it makes a perfect, strong seal. I'm always using clips and even ziploc freezer bags to store chips, cereal, crackers, etc., and unfortunately they still often go stale. Being able to reseal them like this will be a game changer for me. Also, the cutter is a nice little bonus and I love that it comes with a hook so I can hang it up easily instead of getting it lost in a drawer with a bunch of other stuff.

These sealer/cutters are pretty neat. They are small and very easy to use. They work on both the plastic bags and the metal style chip bags. So far I have only tested it on chip and pretzel bags, but this should work on any type of thinner bags. I would be interested if it works on the thicker vacuum sealer bags as well.

The cutter works well on the large super sealed candy bags that like to explode when pulling as hard as you can to open them. Plus then you can re-seal them with it and hide the sealer so you will know if your kids are getting into them ;)

Two upgrades would be nice to have in the future. 1) some built in magnets so it will stick to the fridge (I just hot glued a couple on these). 2) usb rechargeable battery.

I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered this because products like this sometimes have the best intentions but are just not properly executed I resealed the plastic that it came in and this product sealed it and cut it like a razor totally impressed with the product. I would definitely recommend it. It’s a kitchen must have. Gone are those plastic clips you can never find to reseal bags.

Comes with 2 sealers/cutters 1 end cut the bag straight the other seals it up completely. Such a good price for 2 of these yse 1 at home the other at work. & it comes with 4 double aa batteries literally pays for itself in 1 use. Was skeptical at 1st but after using it this thing is great can't believe I never bought this thing years ago. Very easy to use & no more wasted snacks.

I love that they work! I had to practice a little while to make sure I didn't get creases in the closings; but I got it. I gave the second one to my daughter who travels a lot with her three boys. So Awesome!!!! Takes a little practice to get it right but it makes an awesome seal. I have found that slow and steady wins for me. Love it comes with batteries all ready to go. Also absolutely love the opposite side cuts open what you seal. I keep one in the camper and the other in my kitchen.
