Questions about Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net 3/8" Sq. Mesh
Q:
Is this net double selvage?
Answer: No , its mass produced chineese made net . If you buy one once you replace all the blail lines with equal lengths and trim your knots it will throw like a hundred dollar net .the company was not supportive of there product and never returned any emails.will be my last purchase from them ,there are many bets on market with same quality for a fraction of bait buster price .
Q:
So if i get the 12ft net its 24ft fron side to side when opened up
Answer: Yes, don't make the mistake I made in ordering the wrong size ! Haha. Enjoy! Great net! Example 7ft r *2=14 net opening
Answer: That's correct! 12' radius/ 24' diameter when opened.
Q:
how much will a 7foot net weigh? If it do the math right at 1.5 pounds per radius foot that’s 21 pounds. Can anyone confirm this?
Answer: it should be 10.5 lbs ( 7 x 1.5=10.5) , the radius foot is 7 ft .
Answer: Good question as I never thought about weight other then more lead is better. It really is as simple as multiplying 7ft X 1.5 lb/ft = 10.5. My 6 ft version is around 10 lbs but seems heavier after the 7th cast LOL. These are my favorite cast nets since the premium Florida hand made cast nets have been gone for 20 years. It is heavier than you think, but the results are at least 2 or 3 times more bait. My current net is 3 years old and only a few oyster related holes.
Q:
Does this net have the"dragon head swivel"?
Answer: Yes
Q:
Quiero comprar una atarraya doce pies
Q:
Is this an American made product?
Answer: No, these nets are made in Taiwan.
Answer: They are all hand made. Very good net
Q:
Does the 10ft 3/8" net come with a conventional horn swivel?
Answer: No, it comes only with dragon head swivel. We can custom made conventional swivel for extra $30.00
Q:
Anyone order a 12' 3/8"? Wondering if it has round weights? Also wondering if it has a dragon head swivel? Thanks.
Q:
I chose the 8' net. it's showing the round bb type weights. is this what comes on it or are they the long pencil type weights?
Answer: The weights on my 9-footer are round. It's a heavy net that sinks fast. You'll like it if you can throw it. It can be a workout.
Answer: This net has round lead weights.
Answer: They are not round BB type. They are the long pencil weights.
Answer: The weights are as shown in the photo...I call them "egg shape" They are not long pencil type.
Answer: Round like a gum ball! Drops fast more baitfish!! Tight lines
Q:
is a 6' net actually 12' wide
Answer: A 6' foot net is 6' total width across , a 12' foot net is 12' total width across. Hope this helps!
Answer: Well, it supposed to be with a 6' radius. Remember that it will only be 12' laid out flat on the floor. Unless you are an expert at throwing a net, you will not have a 12' circle hit the water.
Answer: If you are an expert net caster you may be able to get it spread 12' but ameteurs like me it would be about 8'.
Answer: Yes. All nets are described by the radius. But actual diameter(full width open) is twice that number.
Answer: Yes
Q:
How much does it weight?
Answer: 1.50 pounds per radius ft.
Q:
Does the 7ft net have round weights?
Answer: Oval, just buy a cheap one you will get the same quality
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes it does!
Answer: Yes
Q:
Color blanco
Q:
Is there any sort of warranty on the net
Answer: It is backed with manufacturer warranty to be free from defect. It is important to inspect your net and test throw it in a lawn or drive way. Warranty is voided once you throw it in water since it can get caught or any number of things that can cause damage to the net. If you spot a defect call the manufacturer in the warranty card included to arrange an exchange.
Answer: Not if it has been in the water.
Q:
Can seller or amazon rep please confirm that this net does not have warranty? pretty expensive net not too.
Answer: I don't know if it has a warranty or not. 99.9% of the time it is user error that causes damage to the net. Excellent net one of the best I've owned. My question is why do you need a warranty.
Q:
How can I take the horn apart to fix the line?
Answer: The blue part unscrews from the bottom white part.
Q:
How is this different from other Betts Old Salt?
Answer: The main variation to look for in a cast net is whether or not it is a "panel net".....meaning the net consists of several "panels"...like a slice of pizza out of a round circle. Each panel is woven together to form the circle. This design cost more, but makes the net much easier to throw and to open up. Some of the lesser expensive nets are just woven as one big circle. They tend to be more ridged and harder to throw. I have used both kinds and find the panel style nets are much easier to use and they store much easier as well. Hope this helps.
Product reviews of Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net 3/8" Sq. Mesh
Tinkeringeek : Heavy Net!
Definitely a high quality product from the net material to the sewing and securement of the lead shots. It's a heavy net, much more than I had expected. It does require patience and "muscle ling" to handle it. I think I would do better with a 6-foot one rather than 7; I think it's would be more manageable. It come in a 3G bucket, which is very nice for transport to and from fishing site. Suggest that you practice on land before throwing this in water, of course unless you're professional at this. The advertisement said that there is a video that comes with it, but mine did not.
Update 6/4/2016 - I found that this net wasn't opening up as fully for me as I had hoped. I fish from a pier and throwing net from a pier is very different than throwing it from a deck of a boat. It turns out that 3/8" mesh net will sink very slowly and I have missed many opportunity to catch live bait. Hind sight is that I should have gone to 1/2" or 5/8" mesh, it will sink faster. During our last fishing outing, the net came off my wrist although I had secured it before throwing it... so short story, I no longer have this net. It's in the bottom of the pier somewhere... that's my clumsy fault and it's not of the net, but it would have been nice to have a better wrist wrap. The net is of high quality material and workmanship, and I just feel so bad it wasn't working for me! Now that I have lost it, I will be looking for another one with 1/2" or 5/8" mesh.
Fadi : very strong and very durable.
one of the best net I ever used. very strong and very durable. my only comment is that I wish they have one lighter with 3/4 pounds. the only one they have is 1.5 pounds which is kinda heavy for me. I use it for mullet in shallow water so no need for me for a heavy net.
Sharon Schnitzler : Great Cast Nets
This cast net was an unexpected A plus for the hubby. He tells me it opens and drops like a real cast net is suppose to . He likes the barrel feature for repairs down the road as anybody that uses one of these will like as they get caught on rocks and stuff sometimes and the design makes it easy to repair on your own without much effort.
Mai Yang : Not Sink fast
Work great, however not sink fast enough.
H.Holder : Never have seen that before but I like it.
This net came with a flap braided mainline . Never have seen that before but I like it .
cody davis : Bait Buster Cast Net
I have used this net once already it came in a nice bucket. It throws and spreads well. The weight is a lot heavier then any other nets I have used before so it will wear you out pretty fast. Well it did me anyways. Happy with this product.
andrew mcatee : I havent had a reason as of yet to use the easy repair feature of the brail lines via the dragon ...
This bait buster net is as close to a custom hand made net as you can buy without spending twice the money.
Throws well and sinks fast. I havent had a reason as of yet to use the easy repair feature of the brail lines via the
dragon head but have inspected the procedure and it looks simple and quick. Not that i'd attept it while out boating.
I'd wait to return home and have a beer while conquring this task. I anticipated a round sinker on the weight line
however it came with elongated sinkers that don't sink as fast as egg shaped sinkers. also there are so many weights
for faster sinking and they are elongated that there is very little room for mouthing the weight line, my prefered method
of casting the net.
None the less a very nice net for the money. I would by again with only one question. is there a version of this net with
egg shaped sinkers? I do belive there is such a bait buster 3/8"net. Good luck and happy fishing lifes to short.
Fisherman42 : Good, heavy net.
Good, high-quality cast net. But it's heavy. If I have to throw it more than four or five times per outing, I get a little more workout than I really want.
Ricky Kelice Graham : Best Castnet I have ever owned!
Outstanding castnet! Very well made and worth every penny!
Amazon Customer : Five Stars
Exactly what they said it was
Genius!!! : But it seems unreal
I hate to say this i bought it thinking i would use it and never did...
Jack Harrington : Cast nets
Good product. I use it to catch bait fish

Don’t waste your money on another brand. As good as it gets.! Just buy it allready
C Hamilton : Very heavy but well made
Product is very well made, we got the 10ft model and was pleasantly surprised by the craftsmanship. 4 stars because of the weight.... it's very heavy and tough throw because of this.

Best cast net I have owned. Very strong material, only negative is that it is slightly heavy
Joe : Good net
Check your local laws and make sure you note radius vs. diameter when buying a net. Really like these nets, I have a few of them partly because my state law indicates the max net size in diameter and the nets are sold in radius size. If you regularly buy bait a good cast net will pay for itself in no time. I know mine has! It's worth the money to get a good one that will last and work properly. Recommend!
Issau Pierson : faster sinking!!
This castnet is way better than the ones bought at walmart, for the simple fact you can repair it on the spot w/ the dragon head swivel allowing you to fix a line right on the spot by replacing the line. Also, the placement of the weights make the net sink faster and are tied right to the net unlike other brands that can cause uneven casts, making your net not open correctly.I know right from day one that this cast net will catch more bait and last longer than others due to the higher quality. Yeah, I pay more but, I know the quality is there. I recommend to anyone looking for a bait net, to spend the extra dough, to get the quality they deserve and come to expect with a net like this.
Scott B. : Best net I have ever used
I've had my 7 foot Bait Buster Pro for almost 2 years now. Except for 1 hole that was my fault, its held up very very well. I am a catfish and white bass/hybrid/striper guide in North Texas and shad are a necessity. In the warm weather months I use it to catch shad at the surface in 20+ feet of water and in the winter I use it to get big gizzard shad for catfish bait. Either way, the 1 1/2 pounds of weight is just enough to make it fall fast and maximize your time on the water and not catching bait. It is a heavy net and will wear you out fast if you don't get on bait easily. I use livescope to find the school and watch the net fall over them and then I yank it and pull them in. The net is very well made. I saw a complaint about the collar at the top of the net but I honestly have had 0 issues with mine in the 2 years I have owned it. And I spend a lot of time on the water being a guide, I have tried many many nets and this is the best of the best. I do soak my new net in a bucket with some warm water and fabric softener overnight for that 1st time you take it out of the bucket. Makes the net softer and easier to throw. Buy it once and accept that you pay more for quality. BTW, the bucket it comes in is legit too.

Tori : great net
I order this net, it was just what we wanted, except for one thing. It was too heavy for us to throw. We notified the co. & Amazon about this problem, in less that 3 days, we were able to exchange this net for the 6 ft net, which was perfect. We were treated very outstanding, by the co. & Amazon.. The co. is very easy to deal with & showed us every respect, in this exchange.. We are very happy with the 6ft net.

Lee fisher product support replied "sometimes knots fail"
Seeing that all but 3 braille line failed at the dragon head .I replaced all braille lines with equal length lines and trimmed the tags
The net throws 100% better opening completely.
My next net will be a $40 net
Dont waist hard earned money on the bait buster .

Great net shipped fast , I'll buy another
J : Great quality!
Oh man this is a beauty. However, get a smaller size so you don't beat yourself to death throwing it. I have the 7' model (14' in diameter).
Tony : Just right
Not extremely heavy, but sinks quick. 6’ is too small and 8’ is too cumbersome for ME. I can throw all of them well, but I am NOT an expert. I’m 5’7” and the 7’ net is the right size for me. ALL cast nets WILL tear if you get it stuck on rocks, pilings, etc., so be careful where you throw and I’m sure it will last you a long time.
