Diancatzdogz : Good machine
The instruction book leaves a lot to be desired. I tried to seal a bag of water and it took me 4 tries. For one the sealing wasn't long enough, I thought it would be set for the thicker bags that are normally used for this type of sealing and it isn't I had to up it to 4.5 to get it to seal. Auto bag size is easy since it has a measuring ruler on the outside to determine the bag size. These bags come in rolls so sometimes they curl and if it doesn't sit just right the bag will not vacuum properly. I feel I have finally figured out how to properly use it and look forward to doing some soups and things I could never do before with my regular unit. I am not sure about the custom settings and how to determine how long something will take to vacuum properly and the book is of no help in that area. Even the part about just sealing the bag without the suction is barely mentioned in the instructions. The way I did it is to close the lid and immediately press the seal button, that seemed to work. It is a nice machine but the instruction booklet should explain the steps better especially for those of us that have never used this type of machine before. BTW it did do a decent job on sealing the water when I finally got it to work but there were still some air bubble in it. I did enjoy watching the water while vacuuming it, the water actually bubbles while it is suctioning the air out.
Ria Darling : Powerful versatile professional grade vacuum sealer
I'd be looking for something to vacuum seal my home made smoked salmon as well as something that would allow me to vacuum seal marinating sous vide bags. I've been really impressed with the Wevac CV12. It is quick, powerful and I like the appearance of the finished sealed product. Attached is a quick snap of some ginger that I sealed for initial practice. The first try with the sealer made me realize the factory setting is too low to effective seal the Weave vacuum bag roll that I bought. I stepped the setting up to 5 and it did the job nicely. Setup is self explanatory - there is a teflon heating bar that you drop in place in the front end of the device. From there, there is an automatic mode that I think will do the job for most of my needs. There is a marinade setting that facilitates longer sealing times, and settings for different bag sizes. My only minor issue is that the instruction manual is hard to follow due to poor translation. Thankfully the device is easy to use such that you really don't need the manual. One small piece of advice that should be obvious but is not laid out in the instruction manual: you can't have any piece of the bag extending out of the chamber sealer or you won't be able to maintain a vacuum inside the chamber. As such, when working with a roll of sealer bag material, you have to cut the bag to size, seal one end with the entire bag in the chamber, then fill the bag with you desired contents and seal the other end. I'm very happily impressed with this device and am roaming the kitchen looking for new fun things to seal!

Victoria : Works well, durable, priceless addition to my kitchen!
As a longtime user of the other kind of vacuum sealers, I was excited to give this a try and really test it out. To be very upfront, it's large. Much larger than my current small countertop version. This does not live on my counter but comes out for big projects. However, having the window makes it so fun to watch what is going on inside and see it work. Not necessary, but certainly nice to have!
PROS: - #1 benefit is sealing liquids. It does such a great job getting all the air out and none of the liquids - You can start it and walk away, you don't have to worry about things getting crushed or watching for liquids. - Large chamber fits anything I need - Double seal for extra protection - Easy to clean - Good suction and seals - Easy to operate - Works for large batches (50+ bags at once) - Keeps food fresh and prevent freezer burn - Cheaper bag options - Multiple settings to get it just right
CONS: - No pressure gauge, everything is just done based on time. I think to make sure I get to the right pressure I often run it longer than necessary, so it takes longer. - Large size, not super handy for 1 off bags unless you have space - I had to tinker with the seal settings to get them to work well on thicker bags - Slower than my existing one, especially with the extra time I mentioned
Overall, I don't know how I went this long without a chamber sealer! The price is harder to swallow but I promise it's really worth it if you do lots of sealing. I make large batches of broth and soups and it's always such a hassle to seal. I also portion out and seal large amounts of meat at once (60+ lbs) and was able to use this to seal everything up for the freezer.
This device has been working reliably for 4+ months and I've had no issues!
Frank E. Trinkle : Probably the best Chamber Vacuum Sealer in this price class. Excellent (but big!)
I am a Professional Home and Personal Chef and I also teach cooking and knife skills. I take all of my kitchen items, tools, utensils, knives, serving items, other accessories, and food products very seriously. When I test and review culinary items, I am highly critical and meticulous in evaluating and rating them. My reviews are honest and unbiased. Good is good…bad is bad!
I use a vacuum sealing almost constantly for various purposes...including very frequent sous vide cooking. Additionally, I generally buy bulk meat and butcher to portions regularly and freeze for storage. I do the same with many other items as well, so vacuum sealer quality is important to me to assure tight seals that hold without leaking in Sous Vide, and allow no air intrusion to prevent freezer burn when storing for the long term. For freshness, I also vacuum seal dry items like nuts and beans to extend their usable life.
This chamber vacuum sealer is probably the best in the price class that I have tested, evaluated and reviewed. While it is not likely to be a permanent placement on a home kitchen counter due to its size, it is easy to move and use when needed.
Details: * Excellent sized chamber to handle bags up to 11" wide. * Control settings are easy and functional. Choose either auto or manual sealing * The unit has a size chart located just under the front cover to determine large, medium or small bags for the most efficient operation of the sealer vacuum. * A special "Marinate" setting will effectively marinate in-bag and produce results in short order that would take many hours longer via refrigeration marinating. This is also effective for sealing liquids for storage. * Time adjustments can be made to address needs for vacuum and sealing times.
Pros: * Extremely well-made and constructed. Robust design built to last. * Relatively medium counter footprint when brought out to use. * Controls are easy to operate per instructions and very intuitive as time progresses. Simple/Effective * Marinating feature is awesome and the time for the on and off vacuuming can be adjusted. * No click-lock down press is required for either operation. Just shut the lid easily and let the machine do its thing! * Easy to clean and store Simple wipe out the chamber with a clean, damp towel and you're done. * Only requires 20-seconds between vacuum sealing * Dry vacuum motor is robust and built to last.
Cons: * Truly, none found
The internal chamber sealer can utilize any plastic vacuum bag, with or without a "bumpy" (dimples) side. Seals are excellent and torture tested by hanging a full bag of water for 6-hours without any seal issues.
I will get a lot of use out of this unit in my own home kitchen...especially the marinating feature. It is easily going to replace a chamber vacuum unit that I already own, but this one is superior by far! It will be used in conjuntion with a more traditional vacuum sealer that has a max bag width of 15" that I also use with very long bags for fish and brisket. For Sous Vide, Food Storage, and other vacuum sealed needs, this is a superbly designed machine and a fantastic value price for the quality. Glad to see that these are coming down to the Prosumer level and more affordable than the grossly expensive units found in Commercial Kitchens, yet as functional for the sizes of product to be vacuum sealed!
I rate this with a very strong FIVE STARS, and expect it to last for years with simple care. It gets my professionally honest and VERY hearty recommendation! Best in its class in my opinion! Bon Appetit!

jimmy d. elliott : Great value for the money
So far this chamber rack works extremely well it was a good value for the money you can use the automatic setting seems to set the settings perfectly the only thing you need to change is the time for the heat strip it's set a little low from the factory so you need to bump it up a little bit other than that so far no problems but then again only time will tell the instruction manual is not very thorough but it doesn't take long to figure out what does what when sealing the bags the heat strip does put a double seal on the bag so that was a good plus point
N. A. Lopez : Excellent performance . . .
I have used it more than a dozen times now. Compared to my “FoodSaver,” it performs better: with the FoodSaver, as the machine removes air from the bag, the atmospheric pressure compresses the bag and drives any liquid toward the seal. Using the Wevac chamber sealer, this is not a concern. Further, I’ve noticed that the Wevac does a better job of evacuating the air (evident when my steaks sink – often, with the FoodSaver, they want to float a bit). Also, it “double” seals the bag where my other machine only makes one seal (I’ve always added a second seal just in case).
As is often the case with Chinese directions, they could be better. They’re good enough, but you’ll have to play with it a bit to fully understand the various functions. While you can set functions manually, I’ve found that the automatic settings are more than adequate.
The construction is robust and the unit is heavy, but just as important is the quality of the electronics; only time will tell if these are up to par. Should their longevity prove adequate, the value of this machine is excellent.
L Parr : Perfect for Sous Vide, advanced meal prep, marinades...
I will start by saying this unit is probably not well suited for the average home use, it's fairly large and would take up a lot of counter space and is quite heavy and not easily toted around. That being said, there ARE some homes that would benefit from it. If you do a lot of Sous Vide cooking, if you do a lot of advanced food preparation or hunters that like to marinate their meats. You can vacuum seal liquids with this unit! I have a foodsaver and although I use it constantly, it cannot handle anything with the slightest amount of liquid. Not only does it make a mess, I ended up ruining one unit trying to seal a jar with soup in it with the accessory hose where it sucked up the liquid. I make a lot of stock...seriously... I'm a bone broth junkie and storing my stock in canning jars in the freezer is a pain on so many levels...the storage room it takes up not the least of it. Knowing that I could vacuum seal my stock and store it flat in the freezer was such a great change for me. I also like to cook soup, stews and chili in bulk and freeze for later use, again the canning jars are a horrible storage solution for the freezer. With this unit I can do individual or family size portions and simply drop the bag in a pot of boiling water to heat it up and there is literally no clean up! The cost savings alone from not having to buy frozen dinners is worth the price, and your food tastes so much better. Placing a marinated steak or chicken in the bag and then freezing made for amazing grilled meats as the marinade really penetrates. I've also saved money by buying big family packs and then sealing smaller portions that I will use and since it's so easy to add a marinade I rarely ever just plain pack now. The unit is easy to use, some presets and then you can also do manual. The bags for these machines are less expensive than what my foodsaver uses...I'm not sure why but foodsavers and other similar models can't use the less expensive bags successfully...more cost savings. Cleaning, the round edges internally make for much easier cleaning. Price: this is a commercial machine and for that the price is quite reasonable. For a large family or someone who does a lot of Sous Vide or food prep in general it might be worth your consideration.
