aScotsman : faulty product on top of late delivery
Sadly this is the second time Amazon has dropped the ball. Received a faulty Vacuum sealer, did not even switch on, followed by a delay in issuing my refund.
Terrible customer service!

E. Crouse : Took my sous vide to the next level
I do a lot of sous vide cooking and I started out doing the ziplock immersion method, then moved to an external type vacuum sealer but found that any time I was sealing anything that wasn't pretty dry I had to revert to immersion sealing because the external sealer, even in moist mode, would suck liquid out, make a mess and often ruin the closing seal by getting liquids and junk in it. The problem with the zip lock method is it really limits the amount of food you can cook because of bag sizes.
This Wevac chamber sealer fixes all the issues I had with my external sealer. I fact one of the first things I did with it was vacuum seal a large bag of water. Never having used one of these I wanted to see how it dealt with liquids and I figure if I had to clean out a mess it should be something easy to clean up. Well, it worked great. I set it for a 30 second vacuum and it drew out almost all the air without spilling a drop in the chamber. Through further experimenting I've found drawing an even deeper vacuum produces even better results with little to no spillage and anything that spills in the Wevac chamber just wipes right out.
I've sealed meats with marinades, stews, leftover roast including s good portion of the au jus and this Wevac chamber sealer had performed flawlessly for all of it.
Another cool thing a chamber sealer can do is vacuum marinating, and although I'm not completely sold on this I did try it and the Wevac works exactly as described pulling a vacuum, releasing it, pulling it again and cycling that on off as you've told it to do. I still think nothing beats time for a marinade but the Wevac marinade mode works as advertised.
This is not a small machine. It takes up a significant amount of counter space and you are of course limited by the size of the chamber as to what you can vacuum seal but I've successfully sealed a 5lb chuck roast with some herbs and broth for a 29 hour sous vide cook and it turned out wonderfully.
Chamber vac sealers are not cheap, but if you are serious about vacuum food preservation and sous vide they can take your game to the next level and this Wevac sealer is plenty large that you won't outgrow it and quite reasonably priced in the chamber vac space. Definitely a recommended purchase for me.
tom webb : A very good value and works great
I have had the CV12 for about a month with 50 uses so far. It works quite well with no trouble at all. Some people may criticize for it being made in China but try to find one that is not where you don't have to get a second mortgage to buy it.
One note. Some have had problems with the seal bit you may want to consider a little vegetable oil to prevent it from drying out.
Amazon Customer : Use
Easy to use
Scott Campbell : Does the job well with minimal effort
I’ve been shopping for chamber vacuum sealers for about a year now. Many of the models I found look like they are industrial, way too big, or international shipping would cost nearly as much as the appliance itself. This one caught my eye because it looked presentable enough to keep in the kitchen, was large enough that it would take the biggest vacuum sealer bags I need, and was small enough that it didn’t require me to get rid of any of my existing appliances. The price was reasonable, so I decided to buy it despite not having any reviews.
It arrived triple-boxed, with thoughtful placement of packing paper. I read through the entire instruction booklet right away. There were several grammatical errors, but I understood what the manufacturer was saying. I installed the sealing bar (in which you simply push it into place), connected the power cable, and it was ready to go.
My first attempt failed to seal. I realized that with the lid open, you can press the sealing button and adjust the sealing time up or down. I increased it to 4. My second attempt failed with the error E01 on the LCD, and I believe this happens when you don’t gently press the top down for a second or two when it first starts sealing. This was my fault. My third attempt partially sealed, and I knew from my first attempt that I needed to increase the sealing time slightly, so I changed it to 4.5. The setting you need may vary depending on the vacuum sealer bags you use, but 4.5 worked for me.
I made some soft ice packs with water and isopropyl alcohol, something I wasn’t able to do very easily with the vacuum sealer I bought more than 10 years ago. It’s almost grilling season, and these are nice to keep food at safe temperatures when it’s hot out.
The machine beeps twice each time you use it, and I’d prefer the beeping to be a little quieter. The vacuum pump is a little loud (as expected), so I won’t be using this late at night, but I’m happy with my purchase. I would recommend it to anyone who has a need to vacuum seal marinated foods, liquids like stews and soups, or other items that wouldn’t seal easily with an inexpensive consumer-grade sealer.
L Parr : Perfect for Sous Vide, advanced meal prep, marinades...
I will start by saying this unit is probably not well suited for the average home use, it's fairly large and would take up a lot of counter space and is quite heavy and not easily toted around. That being said, there ARE some homes that would benefit from it. If you do a lot of Sous Vide cooking, if you do a lot of advanced food preparation or hunters that like to marinate their meats. You can vacuum seal liquids with this unit! I have a foodsaver and although I use it constantly, it cannot handle anything with the slightest amount of liquid. Not only does it make a mess, I ended up ruining one unit trying to seal a jar with soup in it with the accessory hose where it sucked up the liquid. I make a lot of stock...seriously... I'm a bone broth junkie and storing my stock in canning jars in the freezer is a pain on so many levels...the storage room it takes up not the least of it. Knowing that I could vacuum seal my stock and store it flat in the freezer was such a great change for me. I also like to cook soup, stews and chili in bulk and freeze for later use, again the canning jars are a horrible storage solution for the freezer. With this unit I can do individual or family size portions and simply drop the bag in a pot of boiling water to heat it up and there is literally no clean up! The cost savings alone from not having to buy frozen dinners is worth the price, and your food tastes so much better. Placing a marinated steak or chicken in the bag and then freezing made for amazing grilled meats as the marinade really penetrates. I've also saved money by buying big family packs and then sealing smaller portions that I will use and since it's so easy to add a marinade I rarely ever just plain pack now. The unit is easy to use, some presets and then you can also do manual. The bags for these machines are less expensive than what my foodsaver uses...I'm not sure why but foodsavers and other similar models can't use the less expensive bags successfully...more cost savings. Cleaning, the round edges internally make for much easier cleaning. Price: this is a commercial machine and for that the price is quite reasonable. For a large family or someone who does a lot of Sous Vide or food prep in general it might be worth your consideration.

ARnovice : Awesome!!
While it will not teplace a standard vacuum sealefor large things. It works amazing. I now vac pac all my Venison with no worries of blood leaking making a bad seal. I have done soups etc. Only thing is whatever you vac pac make sure is cooled diwn or it will boil in the vacuum. Simple physics you can mot change so is NOT a fault of the machine.
