Do we need to buy wood chips for this smoker gun?

Does this food smoker work well?

Answer: I mainly bought this little smoker for smoking whiskey and making a smoked Old Fashioned. I ended up trying it out on some meats and really fell in love with it. It comes with 6 flavors wood chips. I put some raw steaks in a container and pumped in some smoke and let it sit for 10 minutes so it would absorb into the fibers of the meat before seasoning. Taste good.

Does it work on batteries only?And how many batteries?

Will it heat the food when it is smoking?

It comes with a variety of wood pallets, the whole kit is pretty easy to use. It doesn't come with the smoking container, so I purchased that separately. But the end result I can really taste the smokyness in the food.
