Answer: I’ve never tried to seal to balloon but I would think the mylar type would work.

Mine keeps cutting the bag where it seals. I am not pressing hard, or holding long. Is it supposed to cut it?

Answer: Since the cutting blade is on the other side, my guess is that you may be pressing too hard and it's burning it.

Answer: I think its actually melting holes in it. That's what happened to mine. Mine would look perforated where it would melt holes through the bags in some parts and seal it in others.

I like the color and the simplicity of the sealer. I use the sealer on chip/snack bags when I cant finish them or if I am planning on only eating part of the food. I had no issues with sealing, the longer you hold for the seal the better it is. There is a magnet on the back to store on the fridge or it's small enough to store in a drawer easily. I keep mine on a hook next to the chips! Meant for light use but it's perfect for me and my family! The knife is easy to use but be careful with children!

Just received this mini bag sealer, but had to use it! I was so hopeful that it would at least ‘sort of’ work. Could something this small and so simple really do its job? Well the answer is YES!! My first swipe was spotty as far as the seal was concerned, but my second try was perfect. I sealed two things- some left over chili and some buttery broccoli crowns. I did the time honored test of holding them upside down and shook the bags. NOT ONE DROP ESCAPED. I am thrilled beyond measure. I cannot speak about the durability since I just received it, but I highly recommend this product anyway.

I have plans to take this camping, boating, vacations, and of course in my kitchen. So much easier than lugging out my big Seal a Meal.

Oh, I also used it to seal some sandwich that had hardware (screws, bolts, and handles) so I could safely tape the bags in a drawer for that dresser and not worry about losing anything. Since I used the last two sandwich bags, my husband put his sandwich and chips in the empty bread bag and sealed it. Worked great. BUY THIS - the price is low and it works fine.

This little device is tiny but powerful. It works better than I though it would...except for the magnet. The magnet works, it just has be in the PERFECT position. I tried it on all sides of my fridge. It probably takes a whole 5 seconds to align it. That’s a whole 5 seconds my impatient butt doesn’t want to deal with perfectly positioning it. Doesn’t seem like much, but after a few days it was enough to annoy me. I thought I would be able to just toss it on the fridge like other magnets. It will definitely end up getting thrown in a drawer instead of in eyesight. Buried, and forgotten.

It works, you have to assume it is sealing as you slide it along, too long in one spot and it will burn through. Takes a few times to get used to how it seals. Does the trick and does not need to be plugged in like some others.

It is nice to know our chips are air tight just like they were when I brought them home from the grocery store! This item is honestly not as handy as I thought it would be. Number one with the batteries in it won’t stick to the fridge via the magnets. It stopped working even after changed batteries. It wasnt good at resealing like another brand I bought. I only bought this one that looked similar because I lost the other one which was REALLY good. I grabbed it off the fridge to use the cutter, then when I accidentally dropped it in the kitchen it SHATTERED into multiple pieces. I couldnt help but laugh because it made no sense how it totally fell apart. When it fell it broke in half, the springs came out and the plastic broke. The product is a little flimsy. Liked the magnet feature, but it fell off the fridge and broke by the 3rd day of use. when working to put it back together, could see how flimsy it was put together. Provider did take good care of me replacing the item.

I'm extremely disappointed. I highly recommend not wasting your money and looking elsewhere. Honestly, I loved the device at first and it worked perfectly.. but I noticed the magnet was pretty weak and it would constantly fall off the fridge... That wasn't such a big deal but it didn't take a week and then a part fell off and it wouldn't seal properly without a few tries. Then after more use, the tape of the heating piece came off exposing the metal wire that heats, and now it seals but the wire cuts the bag and at the same time in spots so the device is practically useless.

For the price, this does a good job. Easy to put batteries in, and easy to learn to use. My first 5 uses, it left a black line where the sealer is at. I don’t care much as it’s just on chip bags that are going to get thrown away anyway but maybe some would mind. Also it’s difficult to seal bags that aren’t completely flat, there were crinkles in one of mine and I had to seal multiple areas over again. Eh, it works, but for some reason I thought it was using some sort of static discharge to bond the plastic I didn't realize this product literally just heats up and melts the plastic. The fumes of the melted plastic are pretty strong and most chip bags have paint on them which are also giving off some funky fumes. Not sure I'd use this for more than a party trick.

Be careful you can easily burn and smell paper burning so its just a quick slide do not hold it longer and do not let children play with it. I keep it away from my toddler. I’m changing my review because after using this thing or rather trying to use this thing it simply does not work. The razor blade on the other end is handy so I like it for that purpose but as far as sealing bags it does a horrible job, it’s awkward to use and there are not many things that it will actually seal.

This product is wonderful. Our chip clips always get lost or broken, and I hate rolling a giant bag when there is just a little bit left in the bag. This not only re-seals the bag, but also cuts off the excess! ????????

I struggled to use it at first, but after a few attempts I started to get the hang of it. It’s also nice and compact so it takes up a lot less space than my piles of chip clips! ????????

Don’t get frustrated if you can’t do it correctly at first. Just give it some time. There is a bit of a learning process, but once you get it, it’s worth it!

I have a little one and she doesn't always finish her snacks even though they're in little bags already. This keeps it fresh. Plus it’s fun to use. I just want to point out the “button” at the bottom is a razor blade. I didn’t read the directions first (duh) and nearly cut myself. So there’s that.
