Can you use any vacuum bags on this machine? How long is its sealing strip?

Answer: Yes, it is suitable for pre-cut bags or roll bags of any brand, as long as it has texture on one side or texture on both sides, and texture on both sides may be better. It requires a bag of 11.5 inches at most , but the sealing strip is 11.8 inches longer than that. It is recommended that the front edge of the bag of about 3 inches be fed into the vacuum sealer to facilitate the machine to work better.

Is it suitable for vacuum jars or Sous Vide Bags, and red wine storage?

Answer: Yes, it can be done with the integrated external vacuum assembly on the back of the machine. You only need to feed the bag into a vacuum-sealed cavity, touch it gently, and it will automatically complete the rest work and release bag. Traditional hand-pressed vacuum machines often encounter wrinkles in the seal when releasing the hands to close the lid, causes the vac sealing effect is poor. This product can solve these problems well, free your hands, and ensure an efficient and stable vacuum seal.

Can you use mylar bags with this?

I received this sealer the next after I ordered it. So I was impressed with that. Thanks Amazon. I do like the size and it’s very simple to operate. There is a seal mode, dry mode , and moist. Moist does not work on mine. I’ve reached out the Fresno. I haven’t got a response. Hopefully I can return it and get something else

Mindy Sze : Automatic is the Way to Seal

Once you start vacuum sealing with an automatic machine, there is no way you would want to go back. I have been using manual vacuum sealers for years now and it has been fine since I am only a casual user. Now that I have tried this machine, my old sealers seem ancient. This automatic sealer is simple, quick, and aesthetically pleasing. There are only three options (dry, moist, and seal). Dry for dry food, moist for wet food, and seal for sealing the bag. You just have to place the bag into the slot and choose an option. It is very straight forward. When comparing with the other automatic vacuum sealers, this is fairly inexpensive. I would recommend it.

D Velasquez : Simplified and sleek food-saving

This Fresko hands-free food sealer is my first food-saver vacuum sealer with simplified buttons, so I did not know what to expect or how to use it at first. After opening it, I was trying to figure out how to assemble the machine and seal the bags. The instructions are pretty clear and could be written better to make the steps simpler. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out the machine, but once I did it's surprisingly easy to use. With a three button option once plugged in, there is no messing up. Even though it performed fantastic in most of my bags, I expected the suction to be more since a couple of the bags still had air in them after pressing the vacuum and seal button for moist foods. I ended up squeezing some of the air out by hand before placing the bag in the machine, which wasn't ideal, but most of my bags turned out just fine.

Pros: comes well protected in sturdy packaging, sleek design, strong durable bags, seal appears strong, user-friendly and easy to use once learned

Cons: suction not as strong as expected in some bags

Overall, this product is something that fits my needs, I will use it frequently for storing fish fillets and meats in the freezer.

Johnny : Can the Fresko compete with FoodSaver at half the price?

We have owned two automatic FoodSavers. They are generally terrific if you don’t mind devotoing extra counter space and be willing to clear out some space in your wallet! The Fresko's modern design, compact size, and automated features appealed to me. How does it compare? Cliff notes version: Very favorably indeed if you don’t’ mind learning a couple a minor tips. Read on to learn more.

First, the sealer is in a league above several highly rated less-automated models in the $50-$75 range including Nesco, NutriChef, Geryon, and even the less expensive Foodsaver models. Let’s discuss pros and cons:

PROS:
It takes little counter space and is intuitive and easy to use.

The Freskko also switches automatically between the vac and seal modes.

Sealing is almost as fast as the high end Foodsaver

CONS:
Even with moist foods, the Dry mode is far more effective at sucking out all of the air before sealing. Ther Moist mode seals too quickly for the meats I tried it with.

If directly compared sealing power to the double the price $150 Foodsaver unit, the “suck” is about 20% less strong. That’s not a deal breaker, especially when using Dry mode for meats, too. The strongest pro sealers such as the $300 Weston deliver up to 28 Hg of vacuum strength while mid level models such as this one are a bit less power. More Hgs = faster sealing.

TIP:
If your food is quite moist, one useful trick is to place food in bag without sealing in the freezer for about an hour. Then seal with the Dry mode and you’ll get best longevity.

RECOMMENDATION:
The Fresko is a simple joy and a terrific buy in its price range. One other plus: At the time of this review Amazon offers free 30 day returns if not for you.

Terry : Super Easy To Use

This sealer is so easy to use! You won't see any controls on the top until you plug it in. Then you will see three touch sensitive options. Moist, dry, and seal. Select either moist or dry and within about 10 seconds it will shut off. Then press seal. It doesn't get any easier than that. Leftover pizza is my favorite to seal. You can freeze it like a store bought pizza for whenever you're ready - without the freezer burnt taste that you would get from a zippered freezer bag. It's not only for food. It's for anything you want to protect from humidity. It comes with 20 bags with it which is well enough to get you started. Wish I had gotten one of these sooner.
