which reel should i got for a 7ft bass rod?

Answer: It depends on the type and size line and lures you plan to use. If you plan to finesse fish with light line and lures you can use the smaller reel. Heavy line with large cranks or worm you’ll want a bigger spool to hold the larger diameter line.

Silver Moon Sailor : A bit chatty but works fine

The brass looking parts are actually plastic. The clutch is on the front rather than the back which is unusual and a bit retro. But the action is fine and the price not bad.

I picked up this compact reel for my daughter to use, as she has said she would like to give fishing a go. I have several multiplier reels but wanted her to use this to start of with, as this type of reel is easier to use.

This reel is noticeably light and easy to use. The handle is foldable when not in use. A simple button switches it between forward and reverse. The mechanism is almost silent and exceptionally smooth. The bail arm is quite stiff on return, but I would expect this to loosen after some use.

Line wise, I am going to load it up with 200+ yards of 12lb line, which is more than enough for her usage. If she is up to it and wants to, this reel is going to great for some mackerel fishing, with a light rod. Not just hailing then in, instead having some play.

Everything on it feels well made and it will be interesting to see how is lasts with saltwater contact, although I always rinse my reels down with warm water when I return.

As the summer is now here, we are looking forward to our first fishing expo together ands I hope you likes it.

First thoughts was that the real was very cheap, but was soon surprised when started to use it. The real is made from aluminium, so is very strong but also lightweight. Its quite compact in size so not taking up to much room in your tackle bag. Easy to fit and remove on your rod. Comes with 109 yards of braided line which you have to spool on yourself, it's quite a strong line. Well built. Easy spin and smooth mechanism. Really good value for your money.

Buyer : Keep it as a spare

The reel is sturdy but the line keeps catching the spool screw holder has its not flush , the line then tangles if you don't notice the line is not going onto the spool.
