What type of arbor does this reel have?

Answer: This can be considered a large arbor reel. It has a larger arbor to allow you to reel in more line faster than a conventional reel.

My reel came as right hand retieve, please send instructions to change to left hand

What makes this reel waterproof? Water won't desolve the metal?

Answer: They are referring to the sealed DRAG SYSTEM which is used to slow the outward flow of line from the reel when a big fish is hooked. Some drag systems are not sealed and get gummed up from dirt/silt in or on the water (or especially in salt-water). It has nothing to do with the material the reel is made out of being waterproof.

Is this reel fully sealed? What type of drag?

Answer: I'm fairly new at this so I don't know what fully sealed means but if it helps I dropped it, while attached to my new fly rod, in the lake from a pontoon boat. A quick grab saved it from the bottom. Works just fine after that horrid event! The drag is pretty touchy a very slight turn will adjust it. Caught some fish had no problem, several "old timers" thought it was a well made reel for the price.

Answer: The drag is not sealed, but stainless steel ball bearing. I have used it only once, found it to be excellent to work with., good , smooth drag.

galesdad : Amazing for the money! Great quality for multiple applications.

I have been using the Peller reel for about 2 years now! I have fished it for everything from big brown trout, to redfish, to a few mahi even! Make sure you always rinse it after use in saltwater, as the corrosion from the salt can still effect the reel, as any. I love this thing. Best reel for the money I’ve used so far!

I'm new to fly fishing and was looking for a reasonably cheap reel to buy for my rod. I chose the 5/6 weight. The overall finish on this reel is top notch. No rough edges, lightweight and an extremely smooth reel and nice drag. I was skeptical with how little reviews it had but let me tell you I am extremely happy with this reel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a large arbor reel. 10/10 would buy it again for another setup

this is one shiney little reel!

im pretty surprised with its fit and finish, specially for this price. id half expected sharp corners/edges and poor machining, but nope - my particular one was pretty prestine.

i got a 5/6 and spooled it up w 100yrds of backing and 100ft of wf5f fly line. its pretty stuffed; im thinking maybe going to 90yrds and 90 ft to help it out.

its got a smooth non-click retrieve. and drag click is subtle but noticeable.

comes feom the factory weirdly enuff for right hand retrieve but switching to left hand retrieve was super simple.

theres only a few things i thought were kinda “meh”
1) i thought it comes with a reel bag or sock *shrugg* oh well
2) the drags a bit funky. on my other reel, 0-360 turn would net u 0-100% max drag. the drag on this is more like 0-270 is like no drag, then from 270-360, its a 0-max drag? no big whoop.

overall, pretty happy with it; lotta guud stuff here and the price is right on point.

lookingn forward to takin it out to some water

update: went w something like 70-80 yards of backing, that works out way better.

very nice for the price. size and line capacity perfect for my needs. as expected. drag seems a little catchy but I don't mind since I only adjust the drag so the spool doesn't overturn. I use palm drag, which this reel allows very easily.

Not sure how this is considered a large arbor other than the center is larger than usual. The reel itself is the same size as a traditional reel so it actually accepts less line than usual. My 5/6 only took 60 yards of 20lb backing and barely squeaked in 100' of fly line, and it still makes contact with the guard. I was pretty impressed with the craftsmanship, very nice looking reel with quality components ... but the drag start at a pretty high drag setting and doesn't reduce past what I would consider 1/3 drag so it is pretty restricted between the line and high starting point of the drag. I haven't used it yet so I guess we will see. It is only 36$ so maybe it's worth its value.

Paula J. Goodsell : First impressions... This is a fantastic reel especially at this price point.

I've been looking for a budget friendly, good looking, high quality fly reel and so far the Goture Peller meets and even exceeds that criteria.

Here are my thoughts so far. Aesthetically the reel looks great, the finish is clean and consistent, there are no visible machine marks, it appears to be very well built. The reel fits together perfectly and is smooth as silk, the drag is smooth as well and adjusts nicely. The clicker is a little on the quiet side if you like to let people around you know when you have a fish on a run (no click on retrieval). I ordered the 7/8 and loaded it with 100 yards of backing and a WF 8 floating line. It is a little snug but it fits without any interference so long as I'm somewhat mindful when reeling all of the line in. If you need more than 100 yards of backing this could be on the small side for an 8 weight line.

I'll get this reel out on the water as soon as I can and update my review hopefully with a short video. Oh and by the way I currently about 6 different different brands of fly reels ranging from some lesser known brands to a couple of Cabela's reels and two Ross reels with several extra spools.

So in short, my first impressions are definitely two thumbs and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this reel.

Je ne peux pas utiliser ce moulinet pour la mouche parce qu'il est en roue libre pour libérer la soie et il exerce l'action frein dans le sens débobina ce de la soie
En fait il fonctionne à l'envers et. L'est donc pas utilisable.
J'ai le sentiment de m'être fait arnaquer

The 9/10 does not fit100ft of fly line and 50ft of backing... I had to remove fly line from the reel end (over 20ft). The quality seems decent.
I bought a goture fly rod to go with this reel, and have bought many other goture products, but sadly this reel is horribly undersized for its rating. Not sure it would even fit 100ft of WF 10wt fly line....
