Answer: This can be considered a large arbor reel. It has a larger arbor to allow you to reel in more line faster than a conventional reel.

What makes this reel waterproof? Water won't desolve the metal?
Answer: They are referring to the sealed DRAG SYSTEM which is used to slow the outward flow of line from the reel when a big fish is hooked. Some drag systems are not sealed and get gummed up from dirt/silt in or on the water (or especially in salt-water). It has nothing to do with the material the reel is made out of being waterproof.

Answer: I'm fairly new at this so I don't know what fully sealed means but if it helps I dropped it, while attached to my new fly rod, in the lake from a pontoon boat. A quick grab saved it from the bottom. Works just fine after that horrid event! The drag is pretty touchy a very slight turn will adjust it. Caught some fish had no problem, several "old timers" thought it was a well made reel for the price.
Answer: The drag is not sealed, but stainless steel ball bearing. I have used it only once, found it to be excellent to work with., good , smooth drag.

The reel is excellent and I would have rated at 5 but for the fact that the finish, although "gunmetal" color, is extremely reflective. I fly fish mountain steams where fish react to flashes of light. Wish the finish was dull and not polished.

Bought this reel for my 10wt. It is a great light weight reel with smooth tight drag. The only problem is the spool capacity. I had to cut about 25ft off my running line to get it all to fit and it is still tight. Pretty frustrating with a fish on and having to watch how the line lays in the spool.

Product claimed it was setup for left hand retrieve, however if installed that way the reel would just free spool line and get all knotted up. If installed for right hand retrieve, that issue went away and the drag was properly functioning.

I was overjoyed to see this beauty come out of the box. It matches my pole nicely and the mechanism is tight and smooth. It came right hand retrieve and was easy for me to set up left hand retrieve. Upon close examination I did however discover that the knob on the opposite side of the drag knob had markings from what looks like a pair of pliers used to tighten the knob and the screw used to attach the turning handle appeared to have been over tightened. It also is not a stainless steel screw so I’m wondering if in time it will rust? Overall I am happy ????.

So far so good, I got my 5/6 reel in the mail yesterday and it looks and feels great and I'm planning on using it over the next few days. My dad who's a long time fly fisherman said that he couldn't believe the feel and quality for the price.
However I have two small concerns. First one is, it doesn't come with a manual and I can't find one anywhere on the internet. Two is part of one, I think there's no manual because the reel is only designed to be only used on the right side, you can't swap it out, so a manual isn't necessary. I only say this because I injured my hand recently and need to reel in on the left, but I'll make due.
I think with those two concerns aside the value is there if you don't care about what side you reel in on.

This reel came Right hand retrieve and it's really easy to change to left hand retrieve. First thing I noticed when I boxing the product was how appealing it is. I wanted a large arbor reel but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. This is by far the best bang for the buck reel. It picks up line quickly and the drag system is just like any other I have had. The only downside I would say about the reel is that the spool has maybe half a millimeter of play. Other than that this reel is solid. Holds fish well. And is super light weight. Which is surprising. Did I mention the price?

very nice for the price. size and line capacity perfect for my needs. as expected. drag seems a little catchy but I don't mind since I only adjust the drag so the spool doesn't overturn. I use palm drag, which this reel allows very easily.
