Answer: Yes it can. There is a connecting hose stored in the sealer. I have used it on jars of home made jelly.

Will this vacuum and seal 12" wide vacuum seal bags?
Answer: Yes. It comes with 5 10" bags. I bought additional 12" rolls. It's easier to load 12" bags, and the sealer works perfectly.

Isn’t there a component for canister use? If so where can I locate it?
Answer: Tubing to connect sealer to canister is convienently located in the inside top of the sealer. However for this to work, your canisters must have a sealing port.

Answer: The vacuum machine can use standard vacuum sealed bags within 11.8 inches.
Answer: Not sure if I’m supposed to but I ordered other BPH free bags and have used them. I meal peeped with them tonight and had no trouble. Trick if using the cut to size rolls press cancel/seal to seal one end first. Wait for light to go off then sealed.

Answer: I freeze cooked items every week, except for potatoes. Cooked potatoes will get kinda SOFT and mushy so I don't advise. Frequently freeze cooked slices or pieces of meat like turkey, chops, etc. So this machine helps a lot.

Can you brine InThese ?
Answer: I'm not sure you would want to store meats in brine (could get salty), unless your making beef brisket, and then I'd say try it. I add marinade to chicken, then use the pulse mode to remove air, then seal the bags. After sealing I throw the chicken in the freezer. This way as the chicken thaws, it marinades. Then I throw the chicken in the grill, and dispose of the bags. This sealer works great.

Answer: You can seal a bag without vacuuming, so I guess that you could brine small items with it.

Wondering why I only recently found the versatility of a vacuum sealer. I love this unit for several of its features not found on similar units.
The pulse feature allows sealing/resealing crushable items like potato chip bags without destroying the items inside.
Also, it has a port allowing the sealing of vacuum containers which is very useful.

I got this food vacuum sealer to review. I certainly was looking for one especially during the COVID times as a tool to help save and store food in the freezer and also in the fridge the right way. So, I was happy to test it. Overall, sealer works exactly as advertised. Vacuums and seals anything you like using either the supplied bags or as I did, any vacuum rolls you can get on Amazon or elsewhere (as long as the width does not exceed the one specified). It took a little effort and time for me to really learn how to use this properly. First, yoou need to make sure that the opening of the bag has to be inside the vacuum area (the area enclosed by the black/gray seal. If you miss that and try to do the sealing, you'll see the gasket keeps coming out (I learned the wrong way). Second, you have to wait until the seal is fully done after vacuuming is complete. It may take some time (several seconds but still wait). Once I got the process figured out, getting the vacuuming and sealing was easy. However, I want to highlight like others did, you have to really press the top until you hear both sides click which requires some force (don't be shy or scared that you can break it). For me, it is ok but I am thinking of some smaller build cooks in the kitchen, this may require extra effort.
Only question I had about this machine was the short-long vacuum option. For some reason, I didn't feel much difference. Overall a good buy
