We are stocking up for the winter, so vacuum sealing for the deep freeze is currently underway. We needed a few more bags. We decided to give the RUCKAE 2 Rolls 8”×10’ and 11”×10’ Seal a Meal Bags a try. Here are our thoughts:

- The hollow roll tube has about an inch diameter. Keep this in mind when viewing the photographs of the rolls. They actually run out rather quickly. Focus on the square footage of the roll, not the visual.

- Performance-wise, these sealer bags are exceptional. This provides a lot of value when considering the asking price. We have not had a single seal fail yet. We would reorder this product with less risk simply because of this experience.

- The two sizes in one order is useful. Sometimes we need smaller bags, sometimes larger.

Overall, no complaints or failed seals. What more could you ask for in sealant bags? The price is right. Highly recommended.

These rolls are the smallest I have ever seen. I got about 8 bags from each roll. I don't know what they cost but I doubt the price is worth what you get in product.

The quality is average. After a few weeks in the freezer, two of the 8 bags from the large roll had air inside and one of the bags from the smaller roll showed the same outcome.

I got these bags mainly for sous vide in which the ability to remove air is important because the food inside must be submerged to cook properly. I found that these performed in an average way in that meat I put in them sometimes lost some of the vacuum packing and some air got in. This was the case even when the initial seal was perfectly air-free. I don't know why they would lose air except for an incomplete seal. I have had this issue with some other budget bags, but these aren't budget bags. On a per foot basis, they aren't the best value. I was able to align them well and seal them properly in my sealer so I'm not sure what issue was.

Rebecca : great for preserving food for freezer

These RUCKAE vacuum sealer bags work fine with my FoodSaver unit. I just cut the length I need, seal one end shut, and then insert my produce. In the example in my pictures, I was using the bags to vacuum seal cooked tomatoes. Food with lots of liquid need to be frozen first before putting in the vacuum bag or the machine will suck out all the liquid. I put my cooked tomatoes in the freezer in small containers overnight, and then pop them out the next day and insert into the vacuum bag.

We freeze many foods and depend on reliable wrap. I have not used this yet but it appears to be sturdy for most foods we would freeze.
