This was bought for a Christmas gift for my husband, he already owns one Havalon knife, this is his second. He likes the length of the blade, says he could use it to skin deer as well as filet fish. This comes with extra blades which is a plus!

Scott : The quality was not what I expected

The quality was not what I expected, the knife rusted fast and the blade didn't stay sharp very long. When cutting around fins and gills the blade flexed to much and made it hard to cut, even a new sharp blade had a hard time cutting through salmon skin. This knife is fine for small pin fish and I don't recommend using it around salt water.

I finally found a knife that meets my sharpness and precision requirements. I use it to fillet fish.
I tried various fillet knives before (Bubba, Shun, etc.). Nothing comes even close. Not by a long shot.
