how lenthgh of the fishing gaff ?

Answer: Our fishing gaff telescopic from 11.4-24 inches. (Foldable length:11.4"-Expand length:24") Thank you for your question .

Answer: I bought the gaff point only. I attached it to my handle. The point is about 16" long from bend to threaded top and nut.

Is this thing not supposed to lock into place?

Answer: It extends about 8 plus feet and does lock in place

How big is the hook?

Answer: neck length 6 inches, hook length 3 inches, spread of hook is 3 1/2 inches. I use it for kingfish up to 50 pounds. NO problem, actually is easier to maneuver to hook the fish.

Answer: The Width from shaft to point is 3in 3/8 in the length of the hook is almost 7 in/ I took pictures but have no clue how to post it. I bought this as to bring fish on the bank of ponds where there are alligators in so I don.t have to get to close to the bank. Seams sturdy and wors great for what I use it for. This gaff is cool and all, but the first fish I tried to pick out of the water with it folded the aluminum like a cheap can. The fish was an 18# buffalo, but I got back to the launch and tossed this in the trash.

Took it out of the bag and EVERY SINGLE SECTION came completely apart the glue that holds the gaff ends together is garbage. The hook is not sharp, nor is it made out of steel. Complete waste of money. Every section slips all the way out and comes apart. Imagine a pool skimming net that had nothing to stop it from falling out after extending it. That’s this gaff. Seriously, don’t waste your time.

Got this to attach to a pole spear for gigging Snakeheads. Its lasted two seasons so far and probably 20 or so fish. These fish fight like crazy and for most of the time the barbs on this hold tight. Its slowly being bent but nothing more than you would expect being slammed into a fish and/or the ground when you miss. I'm honestly impressed with the quality and sturdiness of the product. Would Recommend

Initially liked the compact design, but failed miserably at gaffing a large bull mahi. Fish ended up with 4 failed gaff attempts, only to find out that the gaff tip (point) had rolled and was no longer sharp (see photo).
