how lenthgh of the fishing gaff ?

Answer: Our fishing gaff telescopic from 11.4-24 inches. (Foldable length:11.4"-Expand length:24") Thank you for your question .

Answer: I bought the gaff point only. I attached it to my handle. The point is about 16" long from bend to threaded top and nut.

Is this thing not supposed to lock into place?

Answer: It extends about 8 plus feet and does lock in place

How big is the hook?

Answer: neck length 6 inches, hook length 3 inches, spread of hook is 3 1/2 inches. I use it for kingfish up to 50 pounds. NO problem, actually is easier to maneuver to hook the fish.

Answer: The Width from shaft to point is 3in 3/8 in the length of the hook is almost 7 in/ I took pictures but have no clue how to post it. I bought this as to bring fish on the bank of ponds where there are alligators in so I don.t have to get to close to the bank. Seams sturdy and wors great for what I use it for. too weak at the extension joint to hold fish when gigging from boat, gigs should be strong enough to push boat if it gets grounded, sharp but not what I needed, Outrigger Outdoors has the best equipment for my needs, this gig should work ok for gigging on foot as long as the fish is around 16" long, any bigger and you lose.
