What diameter is the pole?

Answer: The clips are flexible and are designed to fit the light pole on your boat.

Answer: Aproximately 2.3 centimeters.

What size zip ties

Answer: I used the 10" ones because that's all I had but you can go smaller. Wrapped the pole with rubber tape first under the bottom clip because it starts to slide to the top after driving for a while

Answer: They are great for thin "rope" (maybe 5mm or smaller). For thick rope, you may want to try full size flag clips like these (http://www.amazon.com/Brass-Swivel-Eye-Snap-Hook/dp/B0009TILMG)

Answer: No. This particular flag/clip is designed to clip directly on a small light pole found attached to a boat.

Answer: We used these clips for a flag on our boat. However within one week one of the clips broke due to the wind. So I don't think I would recommend these clips.

Answer: Virtually any size - a zip tie connects an eyelet to the pole, then a spring-loaded clip connects to the eyelet and your flag.

Answer: They will adjust to fit any size pole because the mounting bracket is held on by zip ties. I was in the same situation, that is why I also ordered these.

The sticky adhesive that came with this set was old and the back was stuck on the adhesive strip resulting in the strip just being ripped apart. Don't go above 45MPH. This will result in the flag and light pole ripping out of the light socket

My Thoughts:

I bought this the purpose of attaching flags to my Bimini poles. My boat doesn’t allow for a pole mount in an ideal location and this looked like it could work. I sort of messed up on the install with the foam tape… It didn’t specify that you needed to cut it in half and I ended up using it all on the top mount leaving just the zip tie on the bare metal. I will fix that later on… It does hold though at 42mph and gusts of wind.

The Bottom Line:

I looked at other clip options but I liked that this is truly universal and the pole diameter didn’t matter. Recommend if you want to use on any pole.

It arrived quickly. It was much heavier than the nylon printed flag I had. That one faded and frayed quickly. This looks like the materials will weather much better. Love that colors are stitched together and star is embroidered on. Wish you made one 18x27 or 20x30.
