PIT BOSS ELK BURGER RECIPE
4 BURGER BUNS - 2 LBS GROUND ELK - 1 JALEPENO, SLICED - 1/2 TBSP BUTTER
- 4 PIECES GREEN LEAF LETTUCE - 4 PICKLED CARROTS - TO TASTE, BLACKENED - SRIRACHA RUB SEASONING - TO TASTE, CILANTRO MAYONNAISE
- Place ground elk in a mixing bowl and season with Blackened Sriracha. Divide into 4 portions, then form into large patties.
- Fire up your Pit Boss Griddle and preheat to medium flame. If using a gas or charcoal grill, set it up for medium heat and use a cast iron skillet.
- Place butter on the left side of the griddle and let melt. Place buns on the left side (on melted butter), and burger patties on the right side.
- Toast the buns, then turn off the burner, keeping the buns in place to keep warm. Cook the burgers 2 to 3 minutes per side, then remove from the griddle and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
- Assemble burger: bottom bun, cilantro mayonnaise, lettuce, burger, pickled carrots, sliced jalapeño, cilantro mayonnaise on top bun.

This item was used to extend the hopper on the Pitt Boss 456D. It works as intended and greatly increases the pellet storage space. The product delivered more quickly than estimated and is of similar quality to the smoker itself. Another reviewer of this grill on YouTube states the smoker is prone to tipping once installed and utilized so he did not buy it. I do not see this being a problem. However, I keep pellets in a bucket under the grill. Perhaps it would be more noticeable without. Either way, this extension helped me set the grill to cook while away from home for a few hours without concern related to running out of pellets. I recommend picking this up if you plan to smoke for long period of time.
